  1. Remember that the question is, "would you pay more for larger sizes?"

    (also stated as)

"Would you not buy a pair of shoes you like because the price has higher than smaller sizes?"

I would not, because my shoe-buying experience has never reflected a need for sliding prices based on size. Just recently on eBay, I saw Payless shoes listed for sale at boutique prices ($49-59) when I know they cost in the <$30 range. That's egregious price-gouging -- moreso when you consider that Payless charges $7 for standard home shipping, and this seller was shipping at $12.95 a pair.

    same shoes directly from Payless:

Should I really pay an extra $47?

  2. The first time I did it away from the roof of my house, it was a quick 4am stroll through my neighborhood, two nights before Christmas, in the shoes you see to the left. It was pretty cold. The first time I wore heels out in the day time was a few months later, and it was to go shopping for heels. Nobody bothered me then, either.

  3. Even though it was a tad frustrating to gaze at acres and acres of shoes that just didn't work for either of us, including DSW which was a huge waste of time as nothing they had went over size 10. Jeez Louise, c'mon now! Women wear larger sizes than that!

    So do men :w00t2:

  4. I don't mind when women post in this section. The reason guys can't post in theirs anymore is because discussions there were reaching the point to where they just became about men, anyway. The women that we have here have demonstrated that they will offer up their opinion without being dominant about it, so I value their input when they offer it.

  5. Beatnix (3400 N. Halsted) is also another good store to check out for shopping. Between there and Skyscraper Heels, they should be able to guide you about the town. I found that Evanston was pretty progressive and has a nice-sized downtown area, no one ever bothered me when I wore women's shoes around there.

  6. Actually it would be an interesting "experiment" to have someone wear heels or hidden-heels to their next job interview and see what happens.

I agree, it would buy alot of nice heels.

I have a nice job with great security and benefits, I just might do it for the right price... maybe one interview in a closed-toe pump, and one in an open-toed shoe...

  7. How willing is she to compromise? I think the fact that you're upfront about who you are, and were willing to show how "different" you are speaks well to your character, and if she can't get over herself, then it's her loss.

  8. Oh I remember now, Misazeno: 忍者 the ninjutsu trained 20-something from MA. Who likes to frame conversations through a ninjutsu metaphor of fighting, CIA espionage, and concealment.

No surprises at the responses you are getting from others. I sincerely wish you the best of luck in selling your idea to the manufacturers. Just remember the manufacturers are not your opponents, so you don't want to kill and maim them.

    It all makes sense now.

    I'll refrain.

  9. Talk to people at Skyscraper Heels at 2202 West Belmont Chicago. 773-477-8495 I know they have get togethers where you can wear heels as male. Buying shoes there is no problem as a lot of CDs and Queens buy from them. The quality is good and price is fair and I have had a good time buying. You might run into some interesting people also. It is safe. Good Luck Ruby

I can vouch for the people at Skyscraper Heels. Gary is great.

  10. Why do I find it rather peculiar that most everyone who's replied to this thread so far is actually either embarrassed by the fact that they own any mens shoes, or refuse to own any at all?

I'm the very proud owner of a pair of men's black work boots, and a pair of men's black Biker boots, both of which have lug soles. They're extremely comfortable, and are a very welcome relief to my feet when I go out after wearing my heels for long periods in the privacy of my home.

Left to my own devices, if I could get every pair of shoes I own in a women's variety I would. The composition of the shoe is usually lighter and more comfortable. The styles look better, and they usually don't cost as much. If I were a women's size 10 or 11, I'd have even fewer men's shoes.
