  1. Usually women's shoes are 2 sizes larger than your men's size.

I wear an 11 mens so I buy womens 13.

I wear a 13 in mens and womens. Need a wide in womens and usually take a narrow in mens (although a 13N is hard to find, so I make 13R work).

  2. It depends on my mood. I find that nowadays, I vacillate between fashion freestyler and cross-dresser. When I'm freestyling, it's reasonably obvious that I'm not trying to pass as a female. When en femme, I try to pass as best I can.

  3. I was just conversing with a friend about that particular type of labeling earlier this afternoon. Not everyone who takes a size greater than 10 identifies with the "crossdresser fetish sissy" identity. Some of us are transsexuals, some of us crossdressers, some transvestites, some fashion freestylers, and there are even some that were born female and cursed with huge hooves. Good move by you, Johnie. I should do the same in the future.

  4. I appreciate pretty much all styles of women's shoes. If I can find it in my size, and I think it's stylish, I'm going to buy. This has given me flats, gladiator sandals, wedges, pumps, business pumps, oxfords, etc...

  5. My best experiences have come from women. My single worst experience came from a man. The guy would semi-stalk the aisle I was on as though I were going to steal shoes or something. Women have ranged from "simply say nothing at all, and let him be in peace" to "this can spice up my boring day, I'll ask questions to engage him."

  6. They're dark blue leggings, i like the blue cardigan teamed with the blue heels. Unsure as to what you mean by palette swap? But thanks for your input

I couldn't tell that they were dark blue. In that case, I'm sure it works better.

By palette swap, I mean, for example, make the blue denim skirt a khaki one, or do a diff. coloured jacket.

  7. I'll keep that in mind. Well, given that I have bought shoes from a store and you live in the US... try Payless. I tried looking for a pair of 13's there but all they had was 1 pair of 12's. So they told me that I could go online and print a bunch of different shoes that i wanted in a certain size and then bring the printouts to them at the cash register. There, they will search other stores for the availability of each shoe. They ended up giving me a store within the city (not too far from where i live) with a pair of the shoes i wanted and even gave me a coupon for $3 off on that pair of shoes.

Payless in Edgewater (N. Sheridan, near W. Devon) carries 13s. I shopped there regularly when I lived in the northern Chicago suburbs. I haven't lived there in about 3 years, but I'd imagine that the staff is still as friendly as they were to me.

After there, your best bet is to head downtown, although not all downtown stores carry 13s. There's one in the first black of S. State that carries 13s, and I just stuck with that one when Edgewater didn't have a style in my size. There's another store in like the 3200 block of W. Roosevelt that was pretty big, so I'd imagine that they carried big sizes too.

Since you're in Chicago, check out Skyscraper Heels, too.

  8. That all depends on how comfortable you are with the puncher's possibility of running into someone you know. In a small town, that may be too averse a risk, so the need to go elsewhere is heightened. In a large metropolis, you're pretty much a face in the crowd anyway - not a pair of shoes in a crowd. I'm in a big enough city to where I'll just not go to the same places I go sans heels, but not really consider it a big deal if someone I know sees me. I just would rather 1 or 2 of those chance bumps instead of 15-20...

  9. sounds good but how wide do them come as im like a wide to EEE depending on the shoe

and in womens a mens 14 is like 16 correct?

Usually yes, but that's mainly to account for the width difference.

I have narrow feet for a man, but wide feet for a woman. Since wide women's shoes are inherently easier to find than narrow men's shoes, well...

I take a 12 or 13 in men's shoes (depends on the shape of the toe box) and can usually do a 13 wide in women's shoes.

  10. My base size is a 13 wide. However, I've been able to sneak into some 12s, and had problems with some 14s or even 15s. As for my style, I like anything that suggests femininity - it can be Mary Jane-styled athletic shoes, like I have on now, or a towering stiletto pump. I have nearly 30 pairs of women's shoes currently, in several colors, styles, and heel heights.

  11. You don't ignore them, but you know where there place in your life isn't. I don't mind not sharing my heeling / gender-bending with hundreds of others. The three dozen or so that know is adequate for me. I love and appreciate them dearly for their open-mindedness, but at the same time I realise that I am not defined by this singular interest. They can talk to me about other things, and vice versa.
