  1. The ultimate goal would of course be to wear a skirt or dress for work. But I don't think I dare to do that just yet. I do however regularly have earrings, sometimes 4 of them in each ear and sometime just one big hoop earring in each ear. To accompany this I use mascara and sometimes eyeshadow and I also paint my finger and toenails. My colleagues have all accepted / tolerated this.

But I have so far not gone to work in heels and/or a dress or skirt. My best friend has however seen me in a skirt and with heels and he is supporting me whatever I do. It is nice to have friends like that. I don't think anything I do will trigger any negative comment from him.

On the other hand I know that my old mother would be freeked out. She barely tolerates my earrings and painted nails. Here being a phycologist does not make this easier. So I try and go easy on here. But for the rest I really don't care that much. But I have my times when I "chicken out".

My dream scenario is for me to always be in makeup, have large hoop earrings, have painted nails, have either a dress or skirt and heels. I wuld do this still being male. I don't want to be a woman, just borrow the attire.

I totally agree with you. I like to borrow women's attire and still be recognized as a man and not try to pass myself off as a woman! Since it is unusual for a woman to wear a dress, it is not much more unusual for me as a man to wear one. I would really have a harder time wearing hoop earrings than wearing a dress.

  2. I took the COGIATI test and I was evaluated to be androgynous with a score of -95. Some questions did not give options to indicate my feelings as a man. One is "what was your age when you had issues of a conflict of genders". There was no option to say "Never".

When I wear a dress and wedge sandals I have a lot of fun greeting people with my very masculine basso profundo voice. I don't want a thing changed about my body, other then to exercise and get more muscle.

  3. Same goes for me, I have seen some grins, double takes, whispers, and occasional snickering that is harmless and that I usually ignore.

However, I did have one time at a store where a middle aged woman practically stopped, dropped her jaw with a look of horror on her face that I have never seen before, and pointed me out to her teenage son that was with her right in front of me. She was clearly whispering something unkind to her son about me, and continued to stare the whole time. That was the closest thing to a negative comment I have recieved even though it wasn't said directly at me, it might as well have been. That incident did give me pause. I took it much harder than I should have and I unfortunately took a 3-4 month hiatus from public heeling to re-evaluate my desire to do this at the time.

Happily though I did move on from it and am back at it again. I think that incident made me stronger in the long run, but it was pretty hard to overcome for whatever reason.

Maybe you should have confronted the women for her attitude. Part of the exercise of wearing unconventional attire is to give a person confidence to deal with adverse situations. I have had to confront a neighbor for his scorn for my wearing a skirt all the time. Clearly that woman was in the wrong.

Now I suggest you start wearing a dress or at least a skirt with when you heel...

  4. It may seem odd for me to say, but I just can't see myself wearing skirts or dresses to the office. I'm over 300 pounds right now, and a dress would be HIDEOUS on me. I won't do skirts in the office as it just doesn't seem right for me. Perhaps away from the office, but not in it. I'll be happy enjoying what I have gained.

I often wear the jersey dress shown on the model when when I go on my night walks, frequently with my wife, who wears only pants and flat shoes. Sometimes I wear wedge sandals with it. I weigh 208 lbs, and I am 5' 10" tall. The large size fits me perfectly. I just cannot see myself wearing any women's pants given that I hate to wear pants in general. If I am going to wear a woman's bottom garment, it will certainly be a skirt. As I have said before, I hate having the wedge of cloth against my privates. I love to wear the maxi dress .......... EDITED........

  5. My "back to normal" is all feminine clothing - heels, jeans/dress slacks, blouses with nails lacquered up, jewelry, and rull-on makeup. I know it's way more than just heels, but as has been said before......it's all about the complete image.

Many were relieved that I was back to my "old self" again - LOL!

It's very interesting that you have not taken the step of wearing unbifurcated garments (e.g., skirts and dresses) that I have done so almost exclusively. I wear men's shirts with my skirts and the only nails lacquered up are my toenails. As far as shoes are concerned I wear both men's and women's shoes (including sandals). I have not gotten into wearing any makeup or jewelry except for my wedding ring. I have long hair.

  6. I guess the the "masculinity" bug was never planted in my mind when I was young. Along with toy cars I had a toy iron, sewing machine, and a doll, all provided by my mother. I had a grandmother who taught my brother and me how to apply nail polish on our fingernails.

  7. Men have only themselves to blame for the social restrictions placed on them. They are too timid to overcome objections. There was a time women were not permitted to wear pants, and some said women who wear pants should get psychiatric help. At least I can wear a skirt without creating an uproar. We men have to "do our own thing" and let the chips fall where they may, the same as women did 100 years ago in wearing pants.

  8. I have an interesting situation: my wife does not wear skirts, dresses, or heels. She also has short hair. My hair is longer than hers. If one of us is to wear skirts or dresses with heels, I am the one to do it! My wife graciously tolerates my wearing of those items as long has she does not have to wear them.

  9. Tonight we went out walking again as husband (myself) and wife. She was wearing long pants and flats, and she has short hair. I was wearing a dress and 2.75 inch wedge heeled sandals. I have hair much longer than my wife's. I have to say my wife does not wear dresses, skirts, or heels. If she does not wear those things I am thankful that she allows me to wear those items. I commend my wife for going out with me with my appearance.

  10. I wouldn't even try to pull a fem look in public, I might consider doing it if I thought I could pull it off, but there is no way I would even come close to fooling anyone from the neck up.

Anyway, When I do heeling in public, I tend to keep it low key, I have a typical men's shirt on top, but I do wear women's jeans all the time now (when I am not in shorts), and nobody really notices the difference. They just fit me better in every way, and the bootcut variety works well for the way I prefer to wear heels, under the jeans.

Some day, I'd love to go out in a skirt and fully exposed heels like a few of you do. I have the legs for it, but I just can't picture myself being comfortable and actually enjoying the experience. I envy those that are doing it though.

I suggest you go out wearing a denim skirt with flat shoes initially. Wherever many people wear shorts the skirt will not be noticeable. Then later on add the heels. I found it less difficult to wear skirts than to wear my wedge heeled sandals.

  11. My hair is much longer than my wife's (we both went to hair salons recently). I wear knee-length denim skirts almost all the time, and she wears only pants. I am clean shaven in the face and I shave my arms and legs. I still continue to wear standard men's shirts. Most of the time I wear regular men's sandals or boat shoes. Sometimes I wear my wedge heeled sandals. I don't make any kind of effort to look like a woman since my deep basso profundo voice would blow the feminine effect whenever I speak. When we go out for walks it must look kind of interesting - the man with long hair and a skirt and the wife with short hair and long pants.

  12. Greetings JeffB,

Nice outfit. I wanted you to know you've inspired my skirt wearing. Did a road trip not long ago and wore a skirt the entire trip. I was able to shoot a few pix on a pit stop.

    rx

No big deal for me. I wear a skirt almost all the time!

  13. I take it one step further! I buy women's skirts instead of shorts since I hate that wedge of cloth against my privates as is the case with shorts or pants. My experience is that in situations where people wear shorts knee length denim skirts are inconspicuous. I can even go to that most blue-collar of places, an auto parts store, and nobody seems to notice. Now, if I really wanted to feel out of place, I could wear a standard business suit (coat and tie) to the parts store!

  14. I got the sandals from WomanWith. They are Tara studded wide sandal by Comfortview. I got the brown color in 11 wide (US women). They are just a touch too long, but the width is OK. The heel height is 7 cm (2 3/4 inches) high rather than 5 cm ("2 inches") as described by the website.

    They are really comfortable.

I wear the pair publicly with a denim skirt and nobody seems to pay any attention!

  15. Here in Dallas, Texas it is a relatively cool day - only 90 deg F (32 deg C). Quite often it gets up to 100 deg F (38 deg C). I read about all the purchases of boots, and then they are worn with jeans. No way would I wear that combination in the summer! Here the only comfortable heels and bottoms are sandals and skirts that I wear publicly on a regular basis.

  16. Things are pretty much the same where I live. Summer often means the girls in 'flip-flops'...mainly because they are comfortable and reasonably easy to walk in. Not to mention...cool on the foot too. Ladies who have full-time jobs still wear pumps or flats in Summer as their work demands, but you'll see the young Mum's, young girls still at school or perhaps just not working, going for a more relaxed style....usually 'flip-flops'.

I do not like wearing them as everyday shoes. More than anything else, I think that they look sloppy, and also my feet get dirty very quickly.

In Summer I will always wear heels. Up to 3.5" for everyday wear, normally a strappy sandal or a clog mule. Kitten heels are wonderful Summer heels. On occasions I will be brave and put on a pair of clear stripper mules...with a short skirt, a Summer skirt/dress or even when I wear jeans. They will be no more than 4" though.

Boots are very rare for me in the Summer.

I can't stand any sandals that do not have a back strap that goes over the heel of the foot, especially flip-flops. Those sandals just do not hold onto my feet as I want. I have two pairs of sandals that I wear routinely; one pair are flat men's sandals and the other pair women's wedge sandals. Both of them have straps.

Around the Dallas, Texas area men also routinely wear flip-flops in the summertime.

  17. It may be slow, but one step at a time.

Why does it seem guys wearing skirts is more readily accepted than male heelers? On the moral and chaste scale, one would think footwear holds less of a priority and therefore, would be in the lead for men to choose. Anyway, be a man and show your masculinity and stand up and be counted in the attire columns you care most about.

Heels with shorts or skirts still means alot more hair removal products are going to sold. Where's my investment portfolio? 4 cents? Yikes!

Men who wear skirts can claim quite rightfully the they don't have to endure that wedge of cloth against their testicles. We as men have grown up wearing nothing but pants so we take the discomfort for granted. I now wear skirts almost exclusively, and when I have to wear pants I notice the discomfort.

Also, a knee-high denim skirt is not very noticeable when everybody wears shorts.

However, put on heels and one's stride is quite different and noticeable.

  18. I swear by 'Veet Sensitive' with Aloe Vera.....and my skin's a lot more delicate than yours no doubt. As for how well it works, I've never had a problem with it...and that includes 'Brazilians' too!!

I have not tried Veet Sensitive. My experience is that Nair (cocoa butter or baby oil) is more effective and less harsh on my skin than regular Veet.

  19. Truly spoken! Something I can't quite get sorted out.....wearing a skirt...painting toes.....shaving legs.... wearing 2" wedge sandals would be more of a barrier? OooooooKaaaaaaay!

(no criticism here, just pondering the scenario -:confused: )

It did turn out that from my wife's opinion that the 9 cm (2 3/4 inch) wedge sandals is more of an issue than wearing the skirts! I have been going out wearing the sandals while she was at work, but today (Saturday) she was off. So I went out with the sandals with her seeing me wearing them! Initially she said "No, no, no" but then she relented.
  20. I voted that to wear a high heel would make one feel feminine due to how they look. However, after wearing my starter heels extensively for the first time (7 cm or 2 3/4 inches) I feel when I wear them I feel more masculine! I get my height increased by almost 3 inches. Now I can understand why King Louis the 14th had his 12.5 cm (5 inch) heels! Regarding men's shoe fashions - why do they all have to be so flat? I look at Mason's catalog and I see the most outlandish color combinations for some men's shoes - color combinations I would never wear. I do not wear white shoes, nor do I wear shoes that are a combination of white and something else. And yet, those color combinations appear for men's shoes in the catalog. I would like to get a solid black pump with a heel height of about 9 cm (3 3/4 inch) in my size (11 W [uS women's]).

  21. For the sake of being able to understand each other internationally I might suggest that heights be quoted in cm and weights in kg. If one wants to use local units (e.g., feet, inches, lbs, or stone) those quantities could be put in parentheses. Here are my stats: Name: John H Age: 58 Gender: Male Location: Rockwall, Texas USA Occupation: Unemployed software engineer Height: 178 cm (5' 10") Weight: 95 kg (210 lbs) Shoe size: 11 W (USA women's size) What's your favourite heel style: stiletto (even though I don't have a pair yet) What's your favourite shoe style: Sandals for the summertime. Will get pumps when it gets cooler. Do you wear your heels outside: Yes. I go to stores wearing the heels What is: (a) Your favourite heel height: Just started heeling and have not formed any opinions. ( Your highest heel height: Same. How often do you wear: Almost every day Do you wear socks, hose, stockings or bare feet with your shoes: Bare feet with my wedge sandals. Anything else you wish to add: Wear a knee high denim skirt everywhere unless I have to wear pants.

  22. I use Nair twice a week and it works great! I want to have my legs hairless since I wear skirts almost all the time. I shaved my legs once and got nicked, then I tried Veep. Then I saw Nair on sale and got several tubes at the reduced price.
