  1. Yeah, I saw my uncle's wedding pictures from early 1970's in Poland. He wore such chunky heels for wedding! And nobody questioned that either! As far as I could see, these were around 3" heels with 1-2" sole. As the picture was black and white, the shoes looked like white-ish. My mother told me that my uncle was pretty trendy at these times and this style came from West, despite of the Iron Curtain :)

  2. First of all - conversation. After that, you can dress up however you want but up to the limit of her acceptance level. Both of you will find some fun in this area, I'm sure about it. Take care and keep us up to date;)

  3. Yeah, I remember when I first bought some high heels from howcool.com when I was a student with almost no income. And then USD was almost 1:1 to EUR which was very expensive when calculating that to Polish Zloty :) It was several months of saving money and when I finally got enough cash, there was a huge logistic operation to get them without my parents' knowledge:)

  4. Yep, I'd love to have Alti 160's or Daffodile 160's as well. But @jorisken123, you're wrong - 42 EU is 11 or 12 US, depends on the company. I agree that they are still hard to find in Europe. However I bought some wedge boots from urbanog.com and they are quite comfy despite of Im 42/42 EU. but when I bought some cool heels from 1969 Italia Boutique, I had to buy 43's and they are just about to be good.

  5. Well, few years ago I saw a young guy in Warsaw's metro (which BTW has got only one line, LOL) who wore those EMU boots. He was behaving normally although my "gaydar" turned up as he looked and behaved differently. Some chicks were staring at him and smiling for a laughter among themselves but nobody made any comment to this bloke.

I think that Warsaw isn't still a good place to wear high heels for few reasons:

    • If you wear 5 of more inch pumps, you will be higher than most of the crowd and it gathers attention,
    • The older part of society will call you a faggot, pedophile or whatever because these words often mean for them the same,
    • For young girls it will also be a reason to discuss, stare and laugh
    • For young guys you will be a fag, no doubt,
    • And for most of all, there is no strict area of partying where nobody would take care about what you are wearing. It's not like a Broadway Street in Nottingham or a London City Center.

It's sad but it's true. Maybe some other folks from Poland have some other comments and they will make me change my mind and show me that I see the surrounding area wrongly.

  6. Yeah, I went to Barrat's @Grafton St. The lady in front of the shop instantly told me to go upstairs: "The mens section is on the first floor, sir". I repliead I knew that but I wanted to take a look around at the main floor to see if there is anything interesting for me. Her eyes were so big she could barely keep them in her head :) Another time I was buying heels for my girlfriend in Office store at the bottom of Grafton St (she was in Poland that time) and a gay salesman had a small chit chat with me saying "very nice heels sir, haha". I replied "they are for my girlfriend". "Yeah, right" he said. "They are 8's for my girlfriend. If they were 9's they would be for me" and we both chuckled :)

  7. Take a look at a few of the threads like JeffB's, Thighbootguy and mine and they are filled with stories about wearing boots in the mall (and many other places as well as in many different ways.) 99 times out of 100 I have a great time at the mall while wearing boots or other heels.

Yeah, take a walk in Polish mall or in the metro (BTW, only one line in the whole country!!!) and you will look like an alien. Once I've seen a guy in the Emu boots and all girls were staring at him like he was an alien or so. Bunch of retarder weirdos, unfortunately:speechless:

  8. Went to a store today and finally bought 2 pairs of 2" platforms with 8" heels. WOW had a real hard time walking in them, the balancing was very difficult. going to take me awhile to get used to them. First time I ever tried on plats most of the time I wear 4-6" reg heels.

@bobbys12345, could you please provide us some pictures of these boots? I think they seem to be very interesting. Where did you get these?

  9. Well, a year ago I broke my 5th metatarsus bone in left foot and I had a "gypsum" boot (unfortunately heel-less :)) for two months. After they took it off, the left foot was swollen and it was almost not possible to put on any high heel shoe. But after some time the swelling came off and there is no problem anymore. Right now it's exactly a year after this break and I have no problems at all. So I think you will handle it somehow. Maybe a new purchase would be a nice cheer up for you? At least you can always try the shoe on the second foot:)

  10. OK, so the next steps are: 1) shave the legs at least a bit and you'll feel more comfortable 2) buy some heels from leatherworks London, e.g. 7 inch heels with 2 inch platform. If you cope with these, wearing the whole rest of the "usual" shoes will be easy as counting 1,2,3:) Best regards and let the group of heeles raises:)

  11. Apparently the manufacturer is based in Poland.

@barney15c, could you give some more details about the manufacturer? It's not that I'd like to buy these but I'm surprised that the Poles are making such shoes. Pretty awkward and worth checking. Maybe I'll try to persuade them to start making sth similar to little shoe box?

  12. Unfortunately, these are too tight for me. Instead of having US 10, I do need 11s but I'm replacing them. But I'm happy that my wife accepts them and she wants to see me more often wearing them;) By the way, last weekend we went outdoors of our apartment and went into some unattended place. The sun was raising up and we were having really fun time walking by Vistula river;) Obviously, wearing some high heels, haha:)

  13. Guys, the Polish society is mentally still in 20th century or even earlier. There are couple of guys who try to change it by wearing high heels. But even though, the comments are somehow ironic, saying that wearing flat shoes is now "passe" and showing these who wear something else.

Below some examples from X-Factor talents and Poland's Next Top Model.

By the way,IMHO their shoes are just ugly. I'd prefer to walk there in Leatherworks;)

  14. Hi all, Well, the seller's answer was that the sole contained the text "made in India", lol. These are deffinitely not made by Leatherworks because they don't make shoes with round toe like in this example. Leatherworks makes only spike heels. It's a big pity it's not possible to find any archives of LSB shoes because that would be a good material for comparison.

  15. Yeah, you're right. The shoes seem to be quite used and if I have to spend that much, I'd prefer to have them in a better condition. I waited for a long time to hunt for Leatherworks 7 inch boots and I finally found them in a nice price (lower than in catalogue) and I didn't have to wait for manufacturing. Now it's time to find red pumps but I can also wait and search for something unique at nice price:) I asked the seller for the brand name. Let's wait for his answer. Anyway, I'm going to bid on this auction:)
