Man I'd love to have smaller feet! These 13's limit my shoe availabilty! New Years Eve I wore my Redwing work boots. Warmer in the barn that way.

Today I am wearing the Marcie boots in my avatar. I went to my usual spot for lunch for a beer. A lady (40's?) and her daughter (20's?) sat down next to me at the bar. I couldn't help but notice that Mom was wearing the same boots! So I said, "Hey, don't you just love those boots?" She looked at me kind of puzzled, then looked down, saw what I was wearing, and looked back at me, "Wow! How tall are you?" "I'm 6'4 ish" "Why would you need to wear heels?" "I saw these boots and had to have them, they just so happen to have heels." Daughter: "Wow that is so COOL!" Mom:"That takes a lot of guts" I said, "No, just extra balance." We chatted a bit, but they were fine with it. Very cool indeed.

That's funny! The boots in your avatar look like they would stick out in a pitch black room! I like 'em!

Wow HappyInHeels, what a great reply! I love it! You've got a great way with words. Very insightful. Thank you!

Very well said Freestyle75. Thank you.

Thanks guys. It's hard to explain, but I'd guess, relaxing? I don't know. I just feel better. I think it has to do with coming out from hiding. Maybe refreshing is a better word. I sometimes wish I didn't have the desire to wear heels, I mean it'd be so much easier! I'm not one to be shy, or ask for what I want, so here I go. I'm actually happier when wearing heels. Or maybe I am just 'getting away with something.' I don't know.

I can relate to the stairs thing. I remember my first time in 6" platforms. Still makes me laugh to think about it. When wearing anything other than bare feet, one must be aware. I mean I have a pair of Redwing boots that if I'm not careful will take out the drywall in my kitchen!

The more I have been venturing out in heels, the more I realize that 'they' don't care. I have no idea who 'they' are, but for a long time I was worried about what 'they' might think. Now granted, I'm not walking around in overly feminine shoes, like my favorite pair of red platforms. Man I like those shoes! But anyway, I've been wearing heeled boots and oxford style shoes almost every day, everywhere I go. At 6'5" in just my pantyhose, I thought I was going to stick out like a sore thumb. Nah. Not even a glance. Even my buddies don't seem to care. So whoever 'they' is, please stay out of my head!!

I smell a truck builld thread.

I've done all sorts of stuff... a lot of welding... Haven't done a heeled engine yet, but I am restoring a 68 Bronco so the 289 will be comming apart in the near future. Been doing a lot of cutting out of rust in heels too. Be sure to wear crappy heels if you plan on welding though. And watch out for hosiery - it doesn't go well with welding.

Great catch Carly! Just ordered some! Woo hoo!!

If you read this thread, and read between the lines, pretty much everyone is saying that they'd love to have the freedom to wear whatever they want. Whether thats heels, hose, or a sundress. Just remember, freedom isn't free! You have to fight for it. You know. Like women did.

I did the full on cd thing. Even have had professional makeovers. And I looked damn hot! LOL! At first it was so I could wear pantyhose "publicly" Meaning I had to be in full drag to find out how it felt or looked. Then I started in with the hose and shorts, 25 years ago, and found out that I could wear my pantyhose and eat my cake too. I have always loved heels. So just like hose, it will take me some time to chase the demons out of my head. The more I do it the easier it gets. And the cool thing is that most women actually find it cool, and love to talk about shoes. So who am I really kidding here? People don't care whats on your legs or feet. Well most don't. I think the people that we run into that have a problem with our fashion choices are the one's that have either more to hide than us or have a stack of heels in their closets and to make themselves not 'enjoy' the fact that we have the balls to wear them in public have to criticize. It's a hell of a lot more 'manly' to pick on the guy in heels so that your buddies will never suspect that there is a pair of stilettos in your car!

They are even out of the 12s on line. I am going to have to hit the two stores nearby and see what I can come up with. I really like those boots!

I belong to a campground in northern Michigan, we go there most weekends in the summer. I haven't heeled there yet, but am going to put it on my bucket list for this summer.

The roxanes look awesome! Dang it! They are out of 13's on line. So the search begins! Now you're costing me money!
-
Wow! I LOVE those shoes!!!!!
-
I think rather than being jealous of the opposite gender it would be more appropriate to focus our energy on chasing the demons out of our heads.
-
I ordered them both. Next?
-
I will try. Well, not really. Melissa said that she doesn't like taking off the boots. I don't blame her. I have three pair still in the box! There are some more interesting ones at Payless, I think tomorrow at lunch I'll wear the boots into the store and try some of them on. Theselook interesting. But then so do these. I think I am going to own the second pair very shortly.

I need a mens department so that all the shoes I can ignore are in one convenient location that I can avoid!
Ha! Now that's funny!
-
I used to. But now I just wear what I want. Eff 'em if 'they' don't like it. I do!
-
You know what the problem with this thread is, don't you? All it does it make me want to go shoe shopping!
-
Thanks man. The only problem with the boots is that I can't seem to ever take them off!
Good Responses From Women: The Ultimate Resource

I have thought about this more and more. Talked it over with my wife. I think she summed it up perfectly. "Women don't mind seeing YOU in high heels, but I bet they don't want to see THEIR man in high heels." I think that says a lot. FWIW, my wife is ok with my shoe choices. But anyway - sometimes I wonder if we think we're getting support, when actually we're just talking about shoes. What is the conversation that the women have after we leave? Are we looking so hard for 'acceptance' that we are giving too much credit where credit is due? I dunno. Just a thought. Or two. And the beer was outstanding!
