  1. I have recently (past 2 years) badly wanted a good pair of the granny boots that were all the rage in the early 70's.  The ones with a squarish toe about a three inch stacked heel, which had a kind of taper towards the bottom and long laces which you tied at the top of the boots with a big bow and the laces would hang and flop around down the shaft of the boots.  I had a pair of these in the most popular autumn brown suede (I rather call it "Tobacco Brown".  They were soooo comfortable, and looked hot.  I loved the tight fitting ankle, and over some time, they just took on that good looking broken in look with the suede leather wrinkling around the ankle.

God...I wish I still had mine now.  I've watched on E-bay and googled for any hits on-line to no avail. Boo Hooo!

  2. So, is toe cleavage a good thing to anyone reading these forums? Let's see your opinions.

Personally, I find a little toe cleavage very sexy. I have tried hard to emulate the look in my own heel wearing, but I have kind of stubby toes. I don't know how some folks bring this look off....I heard some women speak about trying to get their own pumps to show toe cleavage....and I must admit that I can't figure out what they could do to achieve this effect, short of purposely buying shoes that are too long; and then stuffing the toes with cotton or tissue.

Would some kind woman please enlighten me in this endeavour??

  3. Or, equally likely, we are just a little more obsessed by heels than most.

So True....So True....(guess we could have other, more serious obsessions; could we not?) Seems that when I have been "made" while wearing in public, most people don't seem to notice (unless you count the teeny-girls - who always seem to look at what people are wearing) Most folks my age, couldn't give a rats ass what you are wearing; and they don't seem to notice, unless your heels make a lot of noise on the floor/sidewalk. AND, regardless of what type of material your heels are made of (i.e..metal tipped) there is still a way to walk about casually without sounding like a Storm Trooper.

    Boy...do I ramble...<Grin>

  4. There is a certain mystique about that 1 inch or so of heel we see below the hem of the pants legs -- we wonder how much else there is. It is absolutely fascinating to any heeler.

I wonder if the same thing extends to we guys when we wear heels in public?

I know that in my case, whether the wearer be male or female, I always wonder what lies "under the fabric" of the jeans/slacks. It's kind of a tease, I guess...My eyes also try to distinguish how high the top of the boots are (as discretely as possible) by looking for the little bump in the fabric which gives it away... It seems we always get a charge out of what we can't see, rather than what is apparent.

  5. To JSpikeheels..... I like those boots! I would wear a pair like that, myself. They have a "bit of the nailed clog" look about them, which I find kind of neat. I would have cut off the strap if they were mine also. (of course that's just me....I don't like too much sparkle) The dimensions of the boots are well done -- they look to be well balanced, geometrically. Also they seem to have a bit of a platform....although probably not more than a half inch. This makes the added heel heighth easier to navigate with. If you have an 8 inch stiletto heel on a 4 inch platform shoe/boot, you still only have basically a 4 inch heel to work with. Makes walking about much easier.... I would enjoy them... BTW, looks like you are the closest person on the fourum to where I live.. As always, Cheers!

  6. If the womens shoe sizer told you you wear a 10B, then that would convert to a guys 8 M or so. That's the usual rule. .:D

Of course, I should have mentioned the british sizing, which I never could understand, but accept. Their size 8M is the same as our (American) 10M....And...we drive on the wrong side of the road.....

  7. I came upon the women's shoe sizer. So I tried it out and it said I was a women's 10B. I have never been able to fit into a 10B. Either the scale is wrong or......

If the womens shoe sizer told you you wear a 10B, then that would convert to a guys 8 M or so. That's the usual rule. It really depends on the maker of the womens shoes. Some of those old shoe sizers had the male sizer on one side and you would flip it around to the other side to get the women's sizer. I've not used a shoe sizer in years...since "beatle Boots" were the rage here in the US....(1964?) I just know, usually by the brand of women's shoe or boots what size I would wear. This comes through experience, granted....I just go for the Size 11 medium in stiletto/pumps/boots, or ask for a size 42 or 43 in Euro. Actually I've found that a 43 can be a bit too big for me. That is, if I can find them in a 43. Many times Iwear just a plain old off the shelf, womans size 10 M. I always wear good leather, never patent, or man made material. It doesn't feel, or look the same, and I've found that it is not as comfortable since the plastic man made does not want to give; and will over time actually crack. Good leather will stretch somewhat, and conform to your feet for a truly great fit...

  8. Yeah....the dissilution of a close relationship is pretty bad. It hurts for a while and then you realise that you are actually better off. You can see things more clearly also. Don't try to jump back in to another relationship right away. Give yourself a chance to breathe. This is actually a great chance to grow and to learn just what the GF/BF thing is really all about. Go out a lot and date like crazy. Be glad that you weren't farther involved with this sort of girl, as she seems to have been a user, and those are the worst kind. (now if I can only find one for me....)

  9. I love the outfit and the model is very hot, the boots look great with the jeans tucked in. I have always LOVED this look and use it myself when I go out. I didn't know it was a retro style from the 80's....Guess I'm behind on things...whatever. The only thing I don't care for in this picture is the round toes on her boots. After all these years of craving the ultra pointy toes to come back in fashion, now they are trying to go 180 degrees the opposite way. (Is this what keeps fashion fresh?) I just hate the feeling that this may make finding the ultra pointed toed boots and pumps "unavailable" for another 40 years !!

  10.:rocker: The second pair are just gastly, IMHO. I wouldn't want to be caught dead (or alive) in those. All of the studs make the others look cheap, kinda like what you would expect a hillbilly, biker babe to wear. I don't mean to offend, but there is something to be said about "quiet elegance."
  11. "Catwalk flip" (flipping your heel into an inward lean at the end of each stride) is sexy.

    Cheers, Heelfan

I didn't realise that they actually had a term for that catwalk strut....makes sense to me....I just thought it was an expression of "attitude."

    Cheers back at'cha...

  12. It is definatly a skill to walking in ballet heels. I've owned ballet heels for over 5 years now...... but I doubt anyone can stand/walk in them for extended periods of time without resting or they would cause alot of damage to their toes. Even ballerinas don't spend their entire performance en pointe.

    Jim

The more I read here in the fourum and the more pix I see, get me to wondering if I could even stand in a pair of ballets. I would think that the mid calf heighth boot would offer more support, if only to the ankles. I have worn actual ballet point shoes for about 6 years now and I must say that I still can't go completely "en pointe"....I have the lambswool stuffed into the toebox and all that jazz (no pun intended) I still have too much pain during and afterward. BTW, the pointe shoes that I have (I have 2 pair, pink and black) were bought new in my size so that is not a factor. The only thing I haven't tried is cutting my toenails a bit shorter, and losing a few pounds. :rocker: Yes, i really don't see how the girls do it, unless it is the mere fact that they are usually always in movement; so that gives the toes some bit of respite between dance steps. I would like to try a pair of ballet boots on sometime to see how they feel. They may be just for "bedroom shoes" Hee hee......Horizonally speaking ....:irked:

  13. I say, "Honey, if you can't walk in them, don't wear them." I like a little inward lean of the ankle while walking. That gets to me everytime! But wobbling all over the place....<grin> Well, I just smile and know that I can walk better than they do! S---->:rocker:

  14. Those boots are realy addorable, only I wish the price was less expensive. :rocker:

Anyone wanne buy them for me, it's my birthday soon...

:irked: I'd buy us both a pair if money was no object. I'd love to give the friggin' rednecks a scare around this town. I've found in my experience that people often laugh and ridicule that which they are too ignorant to understand.

  15. Where did you get these from Jim?? O K......I just answered my own question. I'm gonna have to start remembering to read the entire thread befo' I post a question..... Jim ....you lucky chap!! 17. Gary and you are both lucky!! A ladies size 11 is just perfect for me though....umm...where did you say that you live?? Maybe a bit of baby powder and some knee highs would help slip those great looking boots on... Hmmm.....Think I will peruse the Steve Madden site for myself..those boots would look fab with jeans....I LOVE THE COLOR, and the heels are just perrrfect! Stilettoguy

I have just seen the reply/post to me HH Feelings....Sorry for all the trouble I have caused you. I really don't understand how to type in all of this "link stuff".....But that was then, before they changed to way the board works.

Now it is much easier to figure out, and MUCH more flexible!!

  19. Hi

These are my new favourites, I've been trying to get hold of a pair of black leather stiletto knee boots for over ten years, and never managed to find a pair that fitted properly. I love wearing these!

    Chris

Those boots look pretty hot on you Chris....ddoe they have the long pointy toes, or are they more conservative? I prefer the long pointy toes myself.....they look quite sexy and rather evil, if you know what I mean.

Stilettoguy....stranded in a backwoods conservative town....
