  1. Good idea, conceptually, but the heel would look much nicer if it was a matching color and had at least some subtle curvature to it. It kind of looks like they bolted on a block of wood. I usually like wedges, but those don't look graceful and don't really match the rest of the shoe.

  2. Hey those metal heels look pretty cool! Maybe not too comfortable by the toes with the edge of that strap possibly digging in... I can't tell really. But the workmanship is very nice, very clean. I also like the locking method, also very low-profile and effective. Who made those things?

  3. It isn't shiny latex, but:

The site is a bit lacking in style and navigation, but I've never seen anything like their suits. Click the dolphin and you'll find a page that will then link you to some rather large movie clips.

... Not that this has anything to do with shoes. Though I suppose you could claim that it has something to do with feet being transformed into fins?

  4. They are nice. Where did you get them and what brand are they? That toe box looks a bit small; maybe it's just the angle. It looks nice but I wonder how well they fit in the toe area. I'd also like to know what you're doing for hair removal as your legs look pretty smooth in that picture. It's something I've had trouble with myself.

  5. I'm wondering if anybody has a few pairs of Pleaser's Domina line of shoes. I tried the oxford style, similar to these: http://www.snaz75.com/pl-domina-359.html

Mine are totally closed though, no slingback. I tried them in a size 13, but found them to be a bit too large. Exchanging them for a size 12, I found that the toe box is so small and pointy that I can barely get the shoes on! My toes hurt instantly!

I'm wondering if they've got the same kind of toe box on the other shoes in that line, or if that's just the way the oxfords are. I'm looking at this style next: http://www.snaz75.com/pl-domina-431.html

But from the pictures I can't tell what the toe box is like. Does anybody have some of these? Maybe someone can help me figure out what I can do. I might have to buy a size 13 and hope the ankle strap does a good job of keeping the shoes on, but it would be neat if I could get into a 12.

  6. Not that I'm an expert or anything, but I have a feeling that doing such a thing would make walking up and down stairs or inclines rather difficult. The ankle usually has to have some bend in it to do that. I guess it would be okay if you were planning on keeping her in the kitchen all day! Um.. I guess this doesn't answer your question though... sorry.

  7. Dee-zamn! Very informative, thanks. I've got a bit of background in construction so this stuff should not be a problem. I think getting the shape just right might be the trickiest part. As this will be my first project of this nature, I'm not expecting it to be perfect. Now I just need to find some time to do this!

  8. I'm gonna try and make some wedges (eventually) out of some 5.5" heels I've got. They were fairly cheap, the shoes are kinda scuffed up, and one of the heels is broken, so I figure they are good candidates for experiments. Does anyone have any suggestions for what material to make the wedges out of? I was thinking of using wood, because I might be able to shape it the way I want. What type of wood might work best? If not wood, then what other material might allow me to create a strong wedge that I can shape? Also, does anyone have suggestions for attaching the wedges? I was probably going to use the same kind of nails that were used to attach the existing heel, but I'd welcome other ideas.
