  1. Impressive heels there :) You don't *really* manage to walk on normal pavements in them though, do you?? 5" is just about my limit, and then I have to walk carefully. AF have some interesting styles though, and good prices ... did you visit their showroom, or get them mail order? H

  2. Like Firefox, I'd agree with most of the sentiment, and his comment. But why is it lumped under the heading "Transgenderism"? Aren't we talking about just being individuals, being humans, accepting one another for what we are, disregarding some of the more imaginary (or imposed) social expectations?? Seems to me that the article / thoughts / essay would go down well as part of a Sociology University course, and I'm not knocking it in that environment. But do we want to get into that sort of environment? Aren't we just doing what we want to do, without causing harm or degradation to anyone else? Not sure what I'm trying to say here, so probably best to shut up and say no more!

  3. Hi Jim These haven't been outside (yet) so no reactions at all. Not sure that I'd wear them out at all ... they're just too nice to take out into all that rain and uneven pavements! I've got others that are almost as high, and those have been out, with no reaction at all, although I tend to wear them with long jeans. Hey Simbra ... you're right (well spotted) the leather is quite thick, but I see that as a positive point - leather outside and leather lined, and great quality :) Thanks for the comments both H

  4. Hi All

Here's some pics (as requested in the "for guys" area - but I thought I'd share the pics with everyone rather than being gender restrictive!!) of the first pair of boots that my wonderful wife bought me for Christmas.

They're from Italianheels.com ... and although they're a little pricey, the quality and fit is excellent ... best boots I own!!

I'll post some pics of the other pressies as soon as ...

    Enjoy

  5. Sometimes I wonder if you get more - or less - attention by going a little en-femme. For example, some bi-clothing (not difficult today) and a different hairstyle (or, for those of us who don't have much hair of their own - a wig!) can easily create the impression of a larger lady wearing heels, rather than a guy in heels. The former gets little attention, whereas the latter is still noticed sometimes. But for me, the kick is still the heels ... any other items of clothing (or disguise) is just to allow me to wear the heels more easily.

  6. Actually, that wasn't all ... she was out sale shopping yesterday, and called from River Island asking if their size 8's were OK for me (usually a 9, but their quality is good, leather is soft, so they work OK too!). I've told her she has to stop buying now, as my special shoe chest is getting rather full. It's one of the many things that we share ... she loves heels, and I buy them for her ... I love heels, and she buys them for me. Her attitude is; "well, it's only a fashion thing, who cares what you wear" ... which is pretty cool.

  7. Just thought I'd share with you what I found under the Christmas tree this year ...

Hope the links work OK, and apologies for just linking to them rather than posting my own pics.

    Presents from my wife :):o

I can highly recommend the quality from Italianheels.com too ... a little pricey, but then Christmas comes just once a year!!

  8. Well, I don't often drop by here any more ... but this topic caught my eye as it's the way that I started wearing heels "out". But it's probably the most dangerous way of wearing heels out in semi-public. Dangerous in terms of (a) slipping or falling when you can't really see where you're walking, and (:) of meeting people who you really wouldn't want to meet at any time of day in any place (think, who else is out & about in deserted areas in the dark). So after a few little scares, it was out into the big wide world proper for me ... daylight, much busier areas, etc. And a lot of that decision was down to finding this Board (not that I've ever met up with any of the people here), and reading about others' experiences. And my conclusion ... it's a bigger thrill doing it this way, and far less risky too. Not had any adverse comments or got into any bad situations (so far) ... though most of my heeling is done in/around Brighton, and pretty much anything goes there!! If you're stuck with the dark / deserted places, be extra careful!!

  9. Does anyone remember seeing the programme on BBC2 (UK) a few years ago re the above?

I got into a discussion with Steve Pateman - who's the MD there - and he would be more than happy to open up the factory for a group of heel-interested people sometime. Tour the factory, see how the footwear is made, maybe discuss styles & designs, perhaps pick up a few new pairs of shoes & boots while there ...

    Their website is www.loveisdivine.co.uk.

    They're based just outside Northampton.

btw, apart from being a satisfied customer, I've no other connection with the place! Just thought it might be an interesting expedition sometime.

I'll also post this under the "for everyone" topic

  10. I've been wearing my heels "out" for only a little while so far, but can report absolutely *no* adverse comments or reactions. Took a trip into London with my wife a few weeks back, and this was our first outing in public with me in heels. Walking around Covent Garden at 2pm on a Sat afternoon - it was busy - had a few looks (apparently) but no comments that either of us heard. Off to the theatre (matinee) where the heels where just so visible walking up & down stairs, then restaurant, back through CG and back to our hotel. About 8hrs of heel wearing (4" blockish ankle boots from Faith), with not a single verbal comment. That gave me (and my wife) a whole lot of confidence. Since then I've been in and out of hotels in them, around Ikea (in Glasgow), a shopping centre or two, and still nothing bad! One of the shopping centres, I went into a shoe store (in the same boots), and had a chat to the assistant, who could clearly see my heels. We decided there was nothing there for me, but what a great conversation! So, after many a year of worrying about what the reaction would be, now I just wish that I'd done it earlier!! Enjoy all

  11. I may be missing the point here (hey, that's nothing new), but if you're looking for the "bootcut" jeans ... ie quite tight on the thigh but flared over the shoe/boot ... then Next (in teh UK) have quite a range, FOR MEN !!! That gives you the standard "female" look of the moment, especially if you buy their extra-long leg versions. I got some, though my wife thinks they make me look "too feminine". The 4" heels are fine (she says), just not with those jeans ... LOL ... so now jeans are "feminine" but heels are fine. What world are we living in ...

  12. I've been getting more adventurous going out in heels, to the stage where I've now persuaded my wife to come out with me. Any tips from anyone on the following plan would be appreciated ... We're planning a trip into London to see a show, get a meal etc. I'm going to be in heels for most of the trip, ie leaving the hotel, walking to the theatre (planning on staying in the centre so maybe only a 2mile walk), on to the restaurant, maybe a pub or two on the walk back to the hotel ... So I'm thinking probably 5miles in heels, and a good few hours. I'm planning on wearing 4" heeled boots, semi-blade style, right size (9). Any tips on what I should wear inside to protect against blisters & sore feet ... long jeans to cover as much of the heel as poss? same colour jeans to blend into the boots? any tips for walking around, and dealing with any "comments" from sightseers, etc, etc, etc. I know that most of you guys do this sort of thing easily, but it's a big step for us, and I want to ensure as far as poss that it goes ok, this being the first time my wife will be out with me in heels ... don't want any hassle for her. (btw she'll probably be in 4.5"+ heels, and much more noticeable than mine  ). Thanks all .... Heelson

  13. The last time I bought a pair of heels - which wasn't (and should never be!) that long ago - was from a Faith store. The assistant there couldn't have been more helpful. I'd chosen a pair from their "9" range, and asked if they did all the styles in a 9. The assistant walked me round the shop pointing out which styles they had in my size. She couldn't have been more helpful. It was obvious (I think) that they were for me, and .... SO WHAT !! Like so many others here, I wish I'd done it that way many years sooner.

  14. Hey all, thanks for the feedback, glad you liked the shoes. As to where they came from ... from what I can remember; Pic 1 : ankle boots, look like lace-up front, but actually have side zip. Bought from a UK retailer "Sacha" some years ago. Price ... probably £50-£60. My wife wanted some when she saw them, but the shop had stopped selling them Pic 2 : "Tina" from Faith. Wonderful shoes. My wife actually does have a pair of these (and wears them often). Faith were selling them again a year or two ago, in sizes up to 10 (!), cost around £40. Haven't seen them there in a while though  Pic 3 : My Oxfords. First pair that I ever tried on in a shop, although it was a "fetish" shop so I guess that's a slight cheat. Came from "Ritual" in London. Shop now gone  but you can get similar from loads of web sites. Pic 4 : Lace up (no zips!) boots. Bought from Skin2 shop (London) a few years ago again. Really comfortable, though a pain to get on & off because of all the laces! These are all of heels that I've had a while. I'll post some more recent pics if you like ....

  15. Not so sure about the breaking the rules bit .... doesn't that imply that we recognise them, and their validity? Just ignore them completely and do what you want. Thinking about it, let's all vote for anarchy. (yes, joke intended). Forgive the above, I'm in a silly mood. I really like the idea that a pair of shoes/heels is neither "mens" nor "womens", it's "mine" just as soon as I've bought them. I'm going to use that line if anyone ever comments about *my* heels.
