  1. I selected as much as possible but not in public. Well I have worn my boots in outdoor public places but only when nobody is around. I hope one day that I will build up the courage to be more public but the fear of ridicule and non acceptance still weigh heavily on my mind.

  2. Wow!! Thanks for the amazing welcome and its great to see a few fellow Aussies are members here. Well we do love our boots down here and we certainly do love to tilt convention and play a little outside the rules. I think it might be a convict thing. As for 11 cm heeled uggs....ummmm Knowing that they originated from sheep shearers wearing leftover fleece on their feet to keep them warm whilst shearing, kind of kills the romance of them. Its leather all the way for me and my boot & shoe style is definitely on the more feminine side as I wear boring old oxfords for my working day. If I could, I'd wear heels all the time but unfortunately I need to balance my love for heels with earning a living. Somehow I don't think my current conservative employer would appreciate me turning up in a pair of sexy stiletto knee high boots. But hey...I still have my dreams....:)

  3. Hi all, I am from Sydney Australia and as my name suggests I love boots. I am a wearer and have been so on and off for as long as I can remember. Due to personal circumstances unfortunately my collection and wearing time are somewhat limited. I not only love the look of high heel boots on both Men and Women but I also love how they feel when I wear them. I love a nice heel and my current boots have an 11cm heel and I can walk quite comfortably in them. I do also love Hi heel shoes and hope to buy a pair in the near future. I love the forum and look forward to participating. Cheers, Boots4Me

  4. Hi all, Not long ago I purchased a lovely new pair of boots. The leather is pure quality, soft and buttery, the heels are strong but the zippers were very poor quality. Both zipper tags broke within a few weeks of buying them and the zipper popped on one boot (around ankle height) a couple of weeks ago. I took them to a bootmaker and as they are fully lined they were going to cost a fortune to fix so I decided to try a couple of things before I sent them off for open heart surgery and I am glad I did. Now I don't guarantee these couple of tips will work for every situation and they may be too involved for some, but I thought I'd share them in case others here are in a similar position and want to give them a try before spending a fortune on replacing long boots zippers. Obviously if any of the zipper teeth are completely broken, then the zipper will need to be replaced. In my case they were intact but were weakened and out of alignment. Tip 1 For the broken zipper tags, replace them with medium sized key rings. Not only are they cheap (around a dollar for 2) but they actually look quite fashionable. Note that in order for them to attach to the zipper runner, the remaining part of the broken zipper tag needs to be removed. Tip 2 I've found that a popped zipper was not the end of the world. In my case the zipper completely detached from one side. If possible, force the zipper back on to the other side in an angled downward unzip motion making sure that the teeth are lined up correctly and pull it down to the base. Obviously the last few teeth near the base of the zipper will not link without the zipper being unstitched so I used a small staple (pushing through from the inside to the outside of the zipper) just above where the zipper disappears into the boot and press the points down and inward to prevent the zipper from splitting at the base. Glue or thread looping fine fishing line may also keep the zipper base together. As mentioned earlier, if the teeth are out of alignment where the zipper popped, to prevent it from re-popping, straighten them up by hand and drizzle a tiny amount of superglue along the base of the affected teeth where the zipper teeth are stitched into the zipper fabric. The glue keeps the affected teeth in position and strengthens them. Be careful not to add too much glue as it could create a ridge preventing the zipper from gliding and make sure the zipper is open whilst the glue dries to prevent sticking. I have worn the boots around a dozen times since my makeshift repair and the zipper is still holding firm.

  5. Hi everyone!

So great to find a place with other boot and heel lovers.

This is my first post here so I thought I'd show you my boots. They are not brand new but they are a recent purchase. They are tan 11cm heel from Extravaganza and I love them. I wear them in the evenings around the house when I can, but recently I have gotten bolder and put them on after work to drive home in. One afternoon I even got so excited by having them on my feet that I stopped at a quiet park and went for a short stroll. It was my first true outdoor experience. The feeling was amazing and all my indoor walking has paid off as they felt so natural on my feet and I didn't lose balance once even on the gravel surface.

Here are some pics I'd like to share (indoor only) but some outdoor and driving ones are on the way soon if people like them.
