  1. Clicker, Nice post. Thanks. Just put my experience on-line when this came out with my, then, girlfriend I live with (now my fiancee). She started bringing the fact of my heel wearing when we were in company with friends, once when I was wearing heels and once when I was not. I got a bit hot under the collar about her blurting this fact out when in company, when I would rather the friends have noticed for themselves and they bring the subject up. Despite on both occasions there being no negative reaction, in fact kudos for having gone shopping for them in the first place, I was not exactly thrilled about meeting up with friends as I felt that this subject would be dragged out again and again and not at the time and place of my choosing. This led to the inevitable row but we resolved it, of course, and we have moved forward. I hope you can do the same. TB2

  2. Manololover, I am truly sorry to read of your plight. I guess he has yet to be true to himself as he is still "in the closet" about his hh wearing. Perhaps it may help him, and thus you, if he finds out about this board. Then he can get to realise he is not alone. He certainly neds to meet kneehighs :D I hope it works out for you. TB2 xxx

Good job my friend. It is such a nice feeling to get past the hurdle in your own mind about wearing heels on the street. I know when I finally did, the feeling was of great relief and now do not worry about the noise, although I do not go so far as to have metal heel tops.

Black jeans and boots are a timeless combination. Nice picture.

Whilst I can see the "point" of coupling the pointy toe with the stiletto, I can see your arguement from a wearers point of view. Perhaps these days the excessively long point is there just so the shoe wears out quicker or to try and give some room in the toebox. The earlier pointies were much shorter. I was so pleased I came across these court shoes.

Mind you they're snug and need to be broken in, but once there, joy.

Kneehighs 1. reminds me of a James Bond film.

The nearest NExt Clarance outlet is at Braintree. The railway station is conveniently located to the shopping centre, and its easily accessed from the A120 which has now been upgraded to dual carriageway between Braintree and Stansted. Easy to get to.

I agree, the two go together very well indeed.

Today is hot, well for the UK its hot, 24C (76F) and sunny. Decided it was too hot to wear my boots any longer and as I was walking to the shops lunchtime, I changed into my 50s courts (see previous). Well by the time I got to the shops, about a mile away from work, I felt the blister forming. Well nothing I could do about it there and then but continue what I was doing and come back to work. Back at my desk to see a nice big blister (drained) and smarting like heck. Applied a plaster to relieve the rubbing, but cant wear either boots or courts back home tonight :D Just as well I have my heeled loafers with me which are a sloppyish fit and so dont press on the area.

Strange it hadn't happened before, but I guess it is the hot day.

  7. Hi Dawn,

Certainly the boots are very comfortable and are easing to my shape where necessary. Getting warm here in the UK now, so long boots are not really the thing to be wearing :D but what the heck.

Here is a couple of pics of them.

It is a real shame that your $100 Poll posting didn't get more response. Considering the number of members here who are keen to wear heels on a daily basis and would very much like to have mens heeled shoes to buy, I was disappointed to see that although it was read with interest, it didn't generate the quantity feedback you wanted ( I presume). Perhaps it is time the thread was dug out.

IMHO, its all very well for designers to have men strutting in stilettos on the runway, but we all know this is not real life, just getting attention for the designer. How can we get styles on the mens rack like:-

    and

to be in the shops. Both very wearable for all day. Both around 3" heel height.

I dunno, sadly this is not my industry, or I know I would certainly push that way.

I have heard the term used before to describe heels, as well as cigarette for the thin straight heels. The terms do describe them well. I was at a loss as to what term to use as those you suggest dont really fit. So I guess I should just refer to them as either an Early 50's style heel as http://www.fashion-era.com/1950s-glamour.htm say "Early 1950's shoes were often very high, but with rounded or peep toes and low cut front uppers".

I'll bear your comment in mind for future reference as I would not like to upset anyone on our board.

Anyway, the problem is not with Cigars per sei (fresh out of the box they have a lovely smell, just like new leather), rather the act of setting fire to them is the problem. :D

Certainly on my way, and not looking back. Come on guys, its so much easier than you think.

Not exactly "Lunchtime Shopping", but just won these on eBAY

Again they are from Next originally. A deleted line. 4" slender heel, a little bigger than the 50's style court heels (18x20 as opposed to 16x16). Super comfy. They arrived at lunchtine today and I am wearing them for the rest of the day to get them sorted, then they will go away until the autumn as the weather is warming up here in the UK ATM

Work in an office and factory. Apart from the MDs secretary who noticed back last October (when I started wearing heels full time at work) and her reaction, surprise surprise, was positive, no one has said anything. Maybe the fact of my heeling has been noticed, but no one has the bottle to say anything may be a factor. So I can happily indulge myself.

Really my heels at work are quite chunky and the toebox is a unisex look, that's why I like the new 50s style shoes as the toebox is unisex in look. I guess as the current fashion trend in the UK is for trousers (pants) to be worn long over the shoe to the ground, the heel is almost totally hidden and that is why I guess there are no raised eyebrows or knowing smiles. Now if I donned a nice calf length wrap-round skirt, hose and heels (very comfortable to wear) then there would be something said. :D

Lucky me - well I don't think so. I have just followed the lead of others in the forum and proved their point. Yes the cigar heels are pushing the boundary but with the current trouser style, why not take advantage and enjoy.

Here are some shots taken today of both the Next 50s style courts and the Next pinstripe bootflare jeans.

This is how I normally wear trousers and heels, sometimes a little longer, depends on where the trousers are sitting at the time, but this is quite normal.

This is showing a little more heel and is typical of what I see in a shop window as I walk past.

    Finally,

    Showing the whole shoe.

So went out in these this lunchtime. Went into M&S to change some tops for my mum then into Sainsbury's to get a sandwich. Nice stroll up and down the high street of about 1/2 mile and then back to work.

As I said before, I do like the thicker heel, tends not to slip down the cracks in the pavement. :D So you dont need to keep one eye out so much as to where you are treading. Also the toe is a nice round shape that does not draw attention compared to the pointy toe. Very happy with these and have enjoyed wearing them all day at work today.

So I guess that is the combo you spoke about in the first post of this thread.

    Happy Heeling

Just re-read your original post that started this thread off. I too found the Next Jeans you talk about with the pinstrip. I got mine in Bootfit and they are also a low-rise fit. These work well with my normal ankle boots and heeled loafers, so I though that today I would try them out with the courts I got on Friday. Perfect. I will get the camera out and take a pic in the mirror to post. But for now, Courts and I are off to the supermarket to do a little shopping at lunchtime. :D

  14. Well Done Chris, Glad it worked out for you. I do find that girls do like a man that is interested in the sorts of things they are into. Makes for a happy house. This should be a fine example to all, don't hide your passion, no matter what it is for. Your going to have lots of fun. :D TB2

    Good question to pose.

I voted for the Cuban heel as this heel style is widely accepted. Of course, I would like to see a 3"+ Heel, but Cubans give a nice blend of shape and style, whilst being accepted as wearable by either sex.

A good example would be from Pennangalan Dreams

    The weblink is http://www.pennangalan.co.uk/boots/FW245.php

According to the blurb, these have a 7cm lift. Again a nice height to get the feeling of the lift, yet not too high for general daily wear. It is exactly this sort of style that could so easily become mainstream for men.

I expect to put these into my collection this year.

Whilst I did vote for the Cuban, of course the Stiletto comes home second, I just love them, as do we all.
