  1. For music/video sharing, I use Morpheus mostly, but I've discovered that it went down a couple of nights ago, and hasn't been up since. Anybody know what's going on here?

I have a nice NTL cable modem... much better than BT dial-up. the BT ADSL isn't the same price as NTL, yet, but it will be soon. Cable modems have better technology than ADSL, and ADSL is limited to 2mbits, since it's only over copper lines.

I have my own Linux router which shares the stuff round my house, and also acts as a http/ftp/smtp/file server. I'm soon to have a dedicated linux games server, if anyone is interested?

  2. I know that Spike Milligan isn't exactly related to Monty Python... but close enough. I heard about his death today... pretty tragic. Unfortunately I've never seen/read/heard much of the stuff from that era, but my dad has that sense of humour, so a lot of it has rubbed off onto me and my brother. SH

  3. Hi everybody, I've seen a few posts here and there about medical issues about high heels, but I thought I'd start a proper topic about it )hope that's ok :??? We all know the advantages that high heels have, such as improved posture, relief of back pains, gain in height etc etc. But what about the disadvantages? There are so many 'experts' flaming high heels and saying they are all bad. Is this true? Surely if so many 'experts' think so, they cannot all be wrong... what do you guys/gals think? SH

  4. I've been considering a few things. I think that I really ought to tell my parents sooner rather than later, but my big worry is how to go about it, and how they'll react. My dad has actually seen me whilst wearing heels, although whether he actually noticed the heels or not, I'm not sure. He certainly hasn't commented. I was wondering how they would respond if I just started wearing them one evening? Any ideas/experiences? SH

  5. I think the most common cause of car accidents in the UK is people on their friggin mobile phones. Idiots. One old man was knocked over (not sure if he was killed or not) on a pedestrian crossing by a young woman who was on her mobile phone. And this was just a few hundred yards from my house!! I think that the reason why guys' don't have much choice when it comes to fashion because the people who design men's clothes is because they know that most men are not bothered, and they will buy the first thing that fits and that looks vaguely ok. They know that men don't like clothes/shoes shopping, so they make it easier by reducing the choice. Quite frankly I think that really sucks... c'est la vie  SH

  6. It's nice to know that there are other people in the exact same situation. (equadox, i've added u to my msn contacts  terayon, do you have msn or aim at all?) I have actually worn my heels outside before. I used the same tactic as terayon! No one but my sister was in, and she was in the lounge watching tv. i peered round the door and said i was going out for a walk. i just took a walk around the block. i've done this a couple of times wearing light/beige trousers and 3 inch block heels. i've also taken more than a few trips out in the daytime, but i was more devious with this one B) i wore a pair of my sister's (black)sandals inside a pair of trainers, which i covered up with the same pair of trousers. this worked a treat, although what it did to the sandals i have no idea.. she never wears them anymore though!! (maybe i should ask her... B)) I don't know what my parents would think to be honest. I'm pretty sure they know. I think my dad opened the box that was under my bed, and then he hinted as i was going out that evening "and wear sensible shoes! no high heels!". you think he knows? I reckon he does, but hasn't confronted me about it. Both of my parents are pretty open minded, and i don't think they would mind if i wore them round the house... but it's just getting to that stage. Having said that, my mum's a physiotherapist.. and we all know what their view is on heels  as for my sister, she's not big on heels, but i don't think she'd be too bothered by it, or even notice for that matter. she isn't into heels in a big way. Squirrel out.

  7. Having already seen around half the first series of enterprise (inspite of being in the UK, and not even having Sky), I reckon enterprise is great. It's interesting to see the way they've taken things back a step... no longer taking things like the transporter and universal translator for granted - it's nice to see that they actually deal with some of these mysteries as part of the plot in enterprise that they never approached in the other series'. Personally, my favourite stands at DS9. I think Voyager and Enterprise come a joint 2nd, and TNG 3rd. As for TOS, it's just poor beyond belief........ nuff said. SH

  8. I've seen girls at school wearing horrible black 2-3 inch loafer platforms, and they don't look nice really. To be honest, the only platforms I would buy would be up to around 1 inch, or some of those huge 7 inch heel stiletto 3 inch plat styles, that are kinda like fetish things (like the ones shown below). Of course I'd only buy those for the experience

  9. How would you guys suggest I go about it? I'm 16, and I'm still at school. I'd quite like to keep my reputation at school... and if I was seen perusing the 'ladies' section of say Schuh or Barratts (shops I know girls of my age frequent), or worse buying 'ladies' shoes, I know they would react badly, and it would end up going around the entire school. How do you suggest I avoid this? Thanks, SH

  10. I really got into heels when I raided my sister's wardrobe and found a pair of 2 inch block heeled loafers. I was around about 11 or 12 then. When she went to university, she came home one holiday with a marvellous pair of 3.5 inch chocolate brown sandal type shoes with a tapering heel and a strap. Considering this was the highest heel I'd worn, this was pretty incredible, sneaking into her room on a Sunday evening, and slipping them on!! What an amazing feeling! I will never forget that. I'm 16 now, and being skint, and living under my parents roof, I have little opportunity to buy heels. I try to keep my heels secret, but I'm sure my parents have twigged. My dad has dropped hints, but I've never been confronted about it. I guess I'm pretty lucky in that respect. I don't know whether they would mind or not, this remains to be seen! SH

  11. I'm a size 9 in UK terms... I can just about get away with an 8, sometimes a 7, depending on the shoe. In € money, that's 43 (afaik), 41 and 39/40. Is that correct? God only know what that is in the stupid American system.... SH

  12. I think that the size of the heel should be measured not in inches (or cm) but in a unit that's relative to the size of the foot. As firefox stated, some heel heights are impossible for some sizes of shoe. For instance, if I had the same model court (pump, for all ye yankees) shoe as firefox, and his was in size 7, and mine was in size 9, then the heel height won't be the same - it will be different because the heel height has to be relative to the size of the shoe, therefore all heel height measurements in inches (or cm) are meaningless. Grr :@ It's about time someone set the record straight!! SH
