I've never worn heels in Spain, but have done so in France, Belgium, Netherlands, Moscow etc with no problem. I don't believe it would be any different in Spain as it seems a relaxed type of country from what I hear. I think you'd be best off wearng some 3 or 4 inch quiet blocks with jeans and normal attire, about 2 inch of the heel showing. Unless you have an interest in X-dressing or whatever why do it? I X-dressed a few times at University in my late teens as I thought it was the only way to wear heels, but I didn't enjoy it. I thought, why the fuck am I doing this when all I want to do is wear heels. So once I realise it is perfectly OK to wear heels in male mode I never looked back. So if you can, forget the X-dressing and develop your own style. But it seems from your first post that you like to X-dress as you mention gorgeous clothes and such like, so you might need to take some advice or read some TV sites on how to do all that properly.

The RHPS trip was not organised via HHboard but via the Gothic Shop Voluptica in Kettering. Obviously they had to book a certain number of tickets and the coach well in advance. It's not easy to organise a trip for 40 people! It happened they had a slot so Francis kindly invited me along, but they didn't have any spare places until one or two days before when a couple of people dropped out. That's why it wasn't advertised here. Sorry for any confusion.

The heel tops are fixed on with a metal pin of certain diameter so it is a tight friction fit in the tube. It's difficult to buy them an the tops except in quantity as the shoe repairers seem to have a trade monopoly.

I don't think there's much difference. It's pretty much a global thing across the Western world. OK the main fashion shows are in Milan, Paris, and London, but the trends such as they are, tend to disemminate everywhere.

10 board members are going to be away on the meet and I'm doing something else that evening, so how about a week later, or we can try for all Sat evenings 6.00 eastern American running up to Xmas.

I never saw the match but understand it was quite good. It's about time we won something.

Great buys, Brianne. Show us some pics!

Nottingham/Derby area pubcrawl/shopcrawl may be an idea. We could catch a show in the evening or finish up at gardens/event/pub that is open till late.

I don't usually bargain in Charity shops because stuff is cheap and it's all in a good cause. Mind you, CND is a bit different. It's hardly a good cause, more a political viewpoint. Let me know if you can't get on with them, I'c. I may well relieve you of your burden for a crisp tenner

I'd say early evening Eastern American (7.00pm?), that's 12.00 midnight UK time and Midday in Australia to catch the most users. The only people in the early hours of the morning shadow are India and Russia and we don't have many people from there. Having said that. I'm not going to be around next weekend, but I'm sure you can manage without me!

Good precis. If you want to wear 3-5" blocks/blades/semi-tapered black boots you will generate respect. If you want to wear wild stuff, pink fluffy mules, 5" stilettos, or X-dress big style, you will get laughed at. OK, that is unfortunate, but there are a set of informal rules even in today's emancipated soceity. I don't make them, but I've got a pretty good idea what they are having worn various styles of heels in public as guy for longer than I care to remember.

Yes, have seen the pronged plate on budget models. I spent half a minute trying to explain this concept to the owner of leatherworks, but such construction seemed too cheap and nasty to be within his expereience or indeed contemplation. I think the answer here would be another thin plate maybe cut from a tin can with metal snips. The plate is then screwed down with 1 1/2" pilot drilled screws, two or three each side of the shank. Drive the screws well down to produce a sunken head in the plate and liberally cover with foam/tape/cardboard/insole to protect the bottom of your foot.

I don't much care when I wear whatever within reason. At the heel meets I may wear more conservative styles but that's because we usually walk about 10 miles! However, when you are starting off, it is best to build up slowly. And if you get a few looks, so what? Are you going to let other people decide what you wear, or are you going to decide that?

Good advice Shyguy. I have AVG and it is very good. I'm not running a firewall but may have to consider it at some stage. If you don't want to run a firewall then a good tip to stop adware/spyware installing itself automatically on your machine is to go to Tools...internet options...security on the browser menu and make sure that you check prompt before activeX components are allowed to run on your machine for the internet zone. Running activeX automatically (which is a microsoft default setting on IE) is a primary route to how these crooks get their crap onto your set up. If you visit the wrong web page (even a quite innocent one) you will have rubbish installed on your machine "as you browse" if you allow the use if activeX without prompt. Someone in another thread was saying how they trusted the default microsoft security setttings. Think again.

The shank is usually under the paperboard or sandwiched between layers with the heel fixing nails/screws sandwiching it in place between the heel and the rest of the shoe, so I preume it wasn't sticking up, just the fixing? You could try drilling out the shank rivet and screwing it back down, or usng a thin metal plate over the top of it with 4 screws into the heel (two either side) to hold it down

It seems not.
Anyway, I have successfully solved my adware and spyware problems now.

Alton Towers may be a bit far, plus it's not a very good place to wear heels due to walkng etc, although I have done so there.

See other thread about "Curious what type of heels guys go out in" for the answer

No, the picture doesn't show because you uploaded a bmp (bitmap) file. Bitmaps are not used on the pic server beause they are not an internet standard and a very inefficient storage format. You need to upload a jpg or gif.

2600 for me That has some hacker significance doesn't it? I too don't post in the one word threads. Yes we have true greatness

Faith runs very small. Often, but not always, because they do very thin fashion toe boxes. You can take up to a size off the advertised one.

I think anyone with reasonable sowing skills should be able to unpick one side of the zip and sew in a piece of either leather or matching fabric. For guys who are often wearing knee boots with trousers a first class finish is not always the primary requirement.

Fine boots Secreto.
Actually anywhere in the UK is easy to wear heels so I've found. Do give it a try in other places and nearer home, now you have developed some confidence!
