  1. Hey guys, How are you? I've been here since the beginning, although I haven't posted a lot. Just wanted to know how you are doing. I have been wearing heels a lot, and in public, in my private life, at work, with no problems beside the odd gigle here and there. However because of recent changes in my life I'm going to sell all my shoes. You'll find them in this forum. I'm very happy I got to know a few of you in real life, I hope to see you again some time. Lion

  2. Lately I bought a beautifull pair of Sendra boots. But after I wore them for a whole day I noticed the other day that the boots were still a bit moist inside. So I set out to find a solution for this. Obviously heating them is not the solution. After a while I found there are actually shoedryers :

Peet Shoe Dryer - electric shoe dryer, foot odor cure

Boot Dryers - Accessory Dryers at DryGuy

However, this didn't stop me from having a go at it :

It's just a bunch of PVC piping and a fan (just ventilation, no heating), took less then a hour to build. What do you think of it?

P.S. Somehow it doesn't seem to work with sandals

  3. Finally found some time for posting another picture and some anwers ;o) .

Calv : Me, my wife and our son are doing great. It was just a very busy year. I sure haven't forgotten you all, and I hope we will meet again sometime. Even the older lady from Silhouette (Nel) asked about you guys.

Dawn HH : I've been wearing heels since end of 2001, around that time a also started wearing them to work. It took at least 10 cm blade heel to get some reactions. Reactions are mostly neutral (you can wear what you want), to mildly positive (they look good on you, they suit you well). My wife doesn't mind me wearing heels to work. For my work I install Windows Server systems and Cisco routers, so mostly I have to go to a customer on site. Because of my router-knowledge I only get planned for large customers, and at 3 of those large customers I also wear heels (that's 10 cm+ nearly stilletto heels).

Here is a picture of me wearing my new shoes (the first one was actually a picture taken from the site of Silhouette):

  4. Thank you for your compliments. They walk surprisingly well too, maybe due to the shape of the heel (they are exactly 10cm on my size 40). Today I wore them to work, it sure made some heads turn! Didn't get any vocal comments though, but it seems a lot of rumours are going around now, although all my colleagues are used to seeing me wearing 10cm+ heels. These open shoes compared to boots sure make a difference... Maybe it's the ankle strap or the little chain dangling around (I thought of getting rid of the chain, but to me they look much better with it). Somewhere in the next few days my wife (who also works at the same company as me) will ask around a bit for opinions. Including Mrs. source-of-rumours-nr1 , I'm curious.... Lion

  5. Hi you all,

I haven't been around here for a while, but I'm still alive and kicking! Hope you're all doing well. I'm also still wearing my heels regularly, even on the job. Today I just had to buy some new shoes (haven't bought any in about a year. After some twelve pairs of boots, it was time for a change. With these temperatures (30C + ) nowadays over here in the Netherlands boots just aren't very practical. So I went to Silhouette, and was assisted choosing a pair very well bij Nel (BTW she asked how all you guys are doing). Well here they are:

  6. This morning my wife and I got a beautifull son. He was born at home after a pregnancy of 39 weeks at 07:54 AM, weighs 3290 grams and his name is Martijn... Both mother and son are well. All systems are present and functioning, mainly the audio and waste deposit parts... Welcome to the big big world little one! lion

  7. Hello Robert, Well, I've just been busy with life... But everything is going well. Lots of things to arrange for our baby we're expecting 'round the end of this month. I'm still in heels though and enjoying it every day! I hope there will be another heely meeting in the next few months, sure would be nice to meet you in real life! Lion

  8. Well here are my tips: - Get a pair of plain kneehigh or ankle boots, color black with a block heel and a kind of square nose. Height of the heel about 3 or 4". Be sure you can walk long distances in these, have no problem walking up and down stairs etc. - Get a pair of black trousers (jeans). With black trousers and black shoes, there's no contrast, so your shoes won't be noticed that easily. In my opinion the length of the trousers should be so they just show all of the heel. When I started wearing heels for the first time in public, I too tried the long trousers trick. I think it doesn't work, better show all of the heel, it looks much better. And believe me, although you'll be a bit nervous the first time, deep inside you want people to react. It can be very disapointing afterwards if nobody notices. - Be persistent with wearing your heels, specially in the beginning. If someone sees your heels and laughs about them, and the next day the same person sees you're not wearing your heels, he/she probably will be intelligent enough to realise that their making fun of your shoes caused you to stop wearing them. That would be a victory for them and make you more vulnerable. So keep wearing them even if some people make fun of you. Run some scenarios in your mind about how to react to different kinds of negative reactions, be prepared, and DO react that way then in practice. Women in trousers are easy to make fun of if they make fun of your heels (the argument 'you're wearing men's clothes'). Do this when other people are around, not when there's just the two of you. - Don't go into 'danger areas' the first few days, build some confidence first before you do that. Shoeshops with multiple young female assistants are the most 'dangerous' according to me. Be prepared to get laughed at very loud until you are at least 200m away from that shop. When they do start to laugh don't look or walk away, train yourself not to get a red head. Instead instantly walk very confident in a straight line towards to them, while looking them straight in the eye with a smile. Ask them about some high-heeled shoe in their shop, even if you're not interested in any shoe in their shop. Make a remark on their red heads ('hot in here, isn't it?'). And, although in your mind you'd very much like to give their barby-heads a treatment with your heels, be very very nice to them. Well, hope this helps Lion

  9. HighLuc, Great idea. I probably can be there in the second weekend of Januari. I'll keep you informed. I saw you bought almost identical Bronx boots to the onces I have (with the 'rotated' blade heel). Very nice indeed! Jeff, Are you taking your girl with you, or is she not 'ready' yet? If you bring her along maybe I can convince my wife to come also.

  10. Bert,

Here are my measurements as you requested:

Left foot: length 26.5 cm, width 10.0 cm (+- 1mm)

Right foot: length 26.0 cm, width 9.5 cm (+- 1mm)

Length measured with full weight on the foot, back of the heel to a wall. Width also measured with full weight on the foot at the widest point. Measurements were taken at 23:15 (at the end of the day, just after having these boots on for about 9 hours).

I ordered these Bronx boots (model Becky knee) at www.shoe-shop.com ( http://www.shoe-shop.com/cgi-bin/main.pl?pgm=co_disp&func=displ&carfnbr=354&prrfnbr=109664&sesent=0,0 ). Time from order until delevery was about 3 weeks. Note my left foot is larger than my right one. The boots fit -perfectly- on my right foot, for my left foot they mean -pain-, but then again I just wore them for about 10 hours now. These are boots where your feet must become acustomed to the boots. The boots sure won't become acustomed to your feet because of the man-made interior and stitching on the nose, they are very resistant to stretching. The widest point measured at the sole from the boot is 8.8 cm (size 40), so now you know why they hurt on my left foot, my left foot is compressed about 1 cm while wearing them! I know I could have gotten them in a size 41, but then they would develop some ugly wrinkles (I was smart enough to try another model of Bronx from the same last in a store, before I ordered these online). After I've worn these boots for a while and then put on any other pair of boots I have (with an 11cm heel) it's just like walking on sneakers.

The part around my ankles is also very thight, further up the shaft they are very roomy (like most Bronxes). Heel height is exactly 10.55 cm (+- 0.5 mm) measured at the back of the heel straight down on the outside. Quality and finishing is very good, and the lining has a beautiful kind of dark blue. Exterior is leather, lining and sole man-made. The attachment of the heels is rock-solid.

And yes, I sure think you're right about Bronx sizes varying. I got 2 pairs of Bronx from last year in size 41, and they are very roomy. In fact I could wear them with thick men's socks, definately a sure no-no with these ones, thin pantys (stockings) only!

Hope you have enough information now, good luck ordering!

  11. Thank you for your reaction, Highluc :( . More, more! And congratulations from my wife and me on becoming a grandfather! Hope all goes well for the little one (and her parents of course), did you already buy some heels for her? . This calls for a celebration :drinking: Lion

  12. When I got home today I finally found the boots I ordered at shoe-shop.com had arrived :) ! I hoped I would get them just before the mini EuroHeel, but three weeks from ordering 'till delivery is not bad.

The brand is Bronx, model Becky, and I must say they have made some improvements this year. In the other two pairs of Bronx I have there is some cardboard-like material where the ball of your feet rests (maybe it actually -is- cardboard). This material tends to form tiny 'rolls' after some use, and this is quite irritating. There isn't a good way to remove those 'rolls', because when you try to get rid of them, you peel off some of the material in tiny chips (layers) :( . But in my new boots they replaced it with leather on top of a thin layer of foam, and it feels great. I'm convinced I got the right size (40), because my big toe has at least 3cm room 'till the front of the nose. But I must say these boots are thight, ouch :o ! Not very comfortable, but they look great. They walk very silent too, something you would not expect from such a thin heel. The lining is very beautifull too, it has a dark blue color.

Well, here's the picture, let's have some reactions now!

And another picture, mine are actually black, but on this one you can see some more details:

BTW the heel is exactly 10.5 cm on size 40.

And Higluc just reminded me I bought these ones from him, very comfortable boots! :
