  1. When we were dating, Katherine let me wear a pair of platform slides in the house. Unfortunately she made me get rid of my thigh boots. Rather than simply throw them out I had my friend Sam take indefinite custody of them.

Just before I married her, Katherine started letting me wear the slides when we went out walking, but only after dark. I would say I've made some progress, but she still won't let me wear the boots, not even when she's not around.

Wearing the slides (all leather with 4 inch wedge bottoms from womensshoesplus.com) gives me enough pleasure though, that I can't say I miss the boots that much.

I wish I could get my wife to accept me in heels. Len

  2. I thought I gave up smoking years ago but my brother recently sent me a bottle of 10 year old Laphroaig and a box of Cohibas. I guess I am getting old because I'm starting to actually like that carbolic taste with the odor of burnt tobacco.

    Michael

I have some Laphoraig.. not much for the cooked peat taste.

  3. Katherine used to wear high heels a lot before I married her (last year). Now she wears mostly 1 - 2 inch heeled loafers to work. She wore badly-fitting shoes the first few years she lived in this country and that (she claims) caused some incurable foot problems. She will wear something higher when we go out to dinner or for coffee but it takes some nagging from me. Her "Scream" boots (Pleaser 8848) are worn only in the house and she can't walk more than a few steps in them. I don't like Ugg boots either. Katherine's younger sister wears them all the time and bought a pair for their 11-year old niece. Victoria though they looked like ski boots and she exchanged them for a pair of Keds.

  4. I have no personal experience with Pleaser's platforms, but from the photos they appear to be similar to the Ellie's shoes that have one-piece molded bottoms. The quality of Ellie's platforms is good, except that I don't really like those tacky-looking plastic bottoms. I bought Katherine a pair that have leather uppers a couple of years ago. Those look reasonably good and she will wear them outside if I nag her enough. But I would be willing to spend more for built-up soles and heels if Ellie's had them.

  5. When I was in the 9th grade, there was a cashier at the drugstore named Jane who was then in her 50s, so she would be around 80 today. She always wore wood-bottomed slides with 4 1/2 inch metal heels (I had a pair just like those since I was about 10). The shoes seemed to be an extension of Jane's body, as though no other kind would be appropriate for her to wear. After school I would hang out by the magazine rack where I would have an unobstructed view of her legs and shoes. Jane often caught me staring at her feet but didn't seem to mind. She even smiled back a few times. I still get quite excited thinking about her. Then there were those 1970s boots, some of which laced up tightly around the calf. Girls wore them in the classroom although I understand that many schools today have dress codes that specifically ban anything taller than a hiking boot or high-topped sneaker. With all of those distractions, it was very hard to concentrate on my lessons.

  6. Wearing socks with heels is supposedly a rural American thing, or at least it was at one time. This was pointed out by the actress Collin Wilcox who played Mayella Ewell in To Kill a Mockingbird. She told the producer that if she had to wear heels in the courtroom, then it would have to be with socks.

  7. Consider the reverse situation. What if your wife wanted you to dress like a cowboy, biker, or construction worker during sex? That would be completely unacceptable to me because it would mean I would have to wear men's boots!

  8. Brenton Wood's The Oogum Boogum Song from 1967:

It's clear that he likes to see women wearing boots.

When you wear your high-heel boots

    With your hip-huggin' suit

    Huh, it's alright

    You're outta sight

But it takes quite something else to really get him excited.

When you wear your bell-bottom pants

I just stand there in a trance

Huh, I can't move, you're in the groove

At the end he repeats some nonsense syllables that sound like "check out the boots now".

  9. The sole on Katherine's Pleaser boots feel like rubber although it is probably some type of plastic. The soles I've seen on Ellies are made of a stiffer shinier plastic similar to vinyl siding.

I've also noticed that Pleaser's PU boots have a strong petroleum smell which is not altogether objectionable.

I noticed that the Pleasers have a different sole than the Jantes. It's more flexible and gives more. Plus the PU material is softer to the touch.

  10. I like short boots too, especially if the heels and toes are sharply pointed. However I would have preferred a smooth vamp. These remind me too much of logger's or lineman's boots which also lace to the toe.

  11. The bus shelters currently have a poster for Stanford Shopping Center showing a pair of brown leather dress boots with heels and toes pointed enough to be deadly weapons. I didn't even mind the decorative perforations on the toe. I get quite turned on every time we pass the shelter on our evening walk.

  12. I have bought shoes and boots by Ellie and Pleaser. The Pleasers seem to be better made and packaged, but this is a conclusion based on an examination of only 8-10 items of each make. It would not surprise me if they are all made at the same factory in China. It's a good idea to find a store where you can not only try the boots on, but inspect them thoroughly. Sometimes imported boots of the same make and model suffer variations in fit, quality of workmanship, materials, and the manufacturing process.

  13. It's hard to believe, but there are women who don't like to wear high heels or boots or who don't agree that it makes them more attractive and sexually desirable. Women who are classically very beautiful don't turn me on at all if they wear ugly shoes.

Perhaps you could tell your wife that the sexual experience would be more enjoyable for you, and also for her if she wore high heels both in and out of bed. Sometimes this provokes a hostile reaction. Again I can't understand why, although I grudgingly allow that a woman is entitled to feel any way she wants and that the man must accept it if he wants her to stay.

If you have been with a woman long enough, eventually you will discover the limits of what she will accept. Then you will be able to determine whether any suggestion to wear high heels (or even engage in mild s&m) will be detrimental to your relationship.

I really wish my wife would wear heels.

She only ever wears flat trainers or boots. But heels soooo turn me on!

What can I do to get her to wear some...?

  14. So far I've noticed that Internet Explorer doesn't freeze as often. There is still the problem of many IE-related processes still running even after all IE windows have been killed. Sometimes when you shutdown the machine, you have to stand by to kill these processes. Otherwise you can return days later to find the machine still running.

  15. That was Sunnyvale Shoe Mart at the corner of El Camino Real and Mary. They used to have a 2 inch square ad in the newspaper advertising size 15EEEEE or something like that. They also sold normal shoes and I used to buy my regular shoes from them in the 80s.

  16. I've never understood why so many homes on the west coast are called "mansions" when they are actually ranch-style structures dangling dangerously over the edge of a cliff.

uhhhh... with the big toe hanging all over the floor like a slug looking for food while the heel is hanging out like a late-model California pseudo-mansion...

    No. Not sexy.

  17. She still complains about the knees being a little stiff but I assured her that it would loosen up if she wore them often. The boots are more snug than they appear in the store ad. In fact on her they're skin tight. They look very nice with her dark blue minidress. The tip of the heel is metal so I've filed the edges smooth to prevent nasty wounds.

  18. This is Kathy's first pair of thigh boots. They're advertised on the Pierre Silber website as "Scream" although the brand is Pleaser, style 8848. I would of course prefer that they were leather, however the quality of construction is still quite good. I've seen them advertised on some European sites as a "US import", however like many items of fetish gear they are made in China. In the old days, the dour communist leaders would probably not have allowed it. Kathy wore dress boots before I met her, however the heel height was never in excess of 3 inches. Comfort was always the main consideration. The Silber store is on Ringwood Ave in San Jose. It is set up like a warehouse but is open for retail sales. Most of the other businesses on that street are high tech or light industry (machine and welding shops). Kathy was very reluctant to enter the store. She also didn't want to try on the boots in front of the other customers and insisted on using the changing room. While trying them on she said she felt like a "call girl". She could stand and take a few steps in them, but I'm actually much better at wearing boots like those than she is. She's wearing the boots for me because she wants to be a cooperative wife. She said she will practice walking around the house in them but is not sure she would wear them outside.
