  1. Furthermore, as innovations in forensic science continue to develop the margin for error continues to decrease.

Trouble is unless you are a 100% sure then execution is not an answer as there is always the chance that you could execute an innocent person. Besides who gives the executioners the right to take anothers life?

  2. Surely we can only become civilised if we ALL behave in a civilised way. Which means everyone treating everyone as an equal with understanding and compassion.

A person who commits a crime has usually, I say usually because obviously there are exceptions, come from a poor background with poor parenting and poor schooling. There is usually no one there to encourage or boost their self esteems, here is an example although the person in question wasn't a criminal...

I worked with a young girl who was near as damn it illiterate, however, she was really bright and an excellent worker. She used to create havoc as people, who were snooty in my business at that time, thought she was common (yes she had a London accent) as we worked in the City (London) and they were quite vocal about how they thought about her and so she either cried or lost her temper a lot.

For some reason I always end up fighting other peoples corners and when I protested they put her under my wing. I used to help her with her spelling and told her constantly how good she was at her job (the customers loved her). Encouraged she asked me how she could improve herself. I told her to read and read as that's the best way to learn how to spell. Told her in fact to get a steamy Jackie Collins to keep her interested. Anyway she took my advice and bought a book. A few days later she came in and looked a bit sorry for herself and on questioning what was wrong she replied that her parents had asked her what the hell she was doing reading a book. She had told them that I had encouraged her to read to help her with her spelling an they took the micky out of her. I told her to rise above it and she did.

A few months later I was asked to set up a new office and it weas then that my colleagues colours shone through. No one wanted this girl and I was approached to ask if I would take her with me. I jumped at the chance and she came. Only one other person that was moving with us understood her potential.

To cut a long story short, after I was promoted out of the office not only did this young lady take over as office manager but she also managed to get her wages increased by 3k more than I'd been on. She always thanked me for changing her life but as I said to her she did it herself as all I ever did was believe in her ablilities.

Well I have rambled but my point is that unless we get away from bashing and crushing people's self esteems and people stop thinking they are superior because their colour, accent, sense of dress, education, thin, fat, etc etc then as a civilisation we will never progress. Our children need to be encouraged, nurtured and praised becaue by the time they are adults old habits die hard and usually the damage has been done!

  3. Anyhow, what gender am I ? It depends how I feel.

I can't change my sex because it is biological, written in my chromosomes - even if I should get SRS, I will always remain biologically male - but I can change gender as often as I feel like.

And I can wear heels as a guy, as a girl and as everything in-between.

    Life never gets boring.

I love what you have written there Vanessa it speaks volumes and you are right life never gets boring with colourful and changeable people in it!

  4. Laurie wrote:

Jesus associated with the dregs of society and loved them as much as anyone. Beggars, prostitutes, tax collectors, whomever, he was there to help them all.

Invoking his name to denounce heel wearing by men, well, there's something wrong there. Sounds more like organized religion's thoughts and attitudes, out to force the world into conformity.

    Laurie that was beautifully said.

On the subject of Susan guys, I have gone onto Jenny's and read one posting which happened to be hers and was freaked to find her teasing some poor heel fancying guy, who was obviously very very smitten with her. I don't think she is as innocent as she makes out and it's all very well her having an opinion but she doesn't seem to accept anyone elses or accept that anyone else is allowed a differing opinion than that of her own.

I also find it strange that she is excused for not getting her point across in the written word as again in the posting I read with this poor guy, her point was very well written, as the guy was squirming with admiration as she teased him about firstly not looking at her feet then going on to narrate a story of her on a boat and how she coped with her special clogs that she had to use for walking in water etc etc. The words Sub and Dom come to mind and sorry to offend any of her fans here but I couldn't believe what I was reading I thought I'd tapped into some severly fetish sight...

You know at the end of the day this is a lady that, with her husband, trained thoroughly to end up wearing ultra heels to the extent that she cannot put her feet flat on the ground. She's heavily into religion and family, and that's all cool, but she seems to get deeply offended when someone doesn't get her point or her beliefs using the excuse that she is misread but surely, and as Laurie so beautifully put it, christianity is about loving our fellow man regardless of colour, sexuality, education etc etc

Bet I'm in for a right bashing now... shall I duck?

  5. I abhore, detest and think that child molesters are the lowest creatures on this earth. They are scum of the lowest order. They take a childs innocence away and change the course of their lives forever and in turn many of them become molesters themselves... I am a mother of 3 and if anyone touched any of my children my instinct would be to want that person wiped off the face of this earth. But it wouldn't solve anything because of the fact that many of them were molested themselves and so could have possibly passed that trait on to their victims. So there needs to be more input into how to stop the rot and spare our future children. These people should however be put away for life and never allowed near children again as statistically they do reoffend. In Britain, particularly, these people seem to get off lightly and our children are in constant threat of this horrible phenomenon the law needs to be changed to protect our children from these crimes and studies need to be conducted into how these people can be councelled or aided...

  6. See Az that's where I went wrong then! I preferred the white room because I thought it was more peaceful sounding... I closed my eyes and imagined being in each room and the white one seemed nicer, more peaceful, bright and quiet. Whereas the blue one, much as I love blue and have a lot of blue around my home and wardrobe and jewellry for that matter, but a whole blue room , felt cold and dark

  7. If my own mother or Kathy had been murdered, I would not wish for the guilty person's death. I think that carries a lot of negative karma.

    I agree Mike.

If a person murders another and then they are executed the executioner becomes a murderer too. Apart from that it doesn't solve anything.

If life actually meant life imprisonment then people may actually think twice. Death is such an easy way out for a lot of people too, especially those who have had a bad background and/or who are down on their luck anyway and life has meant survival on the streets so to speak e.g. drug related killings.

The way forward is prevention and perhaps school is the place where potential problems could be spotted and then nipped in the bud. Also a lot of all these problems are due to low self esteems and again this could be addressed at schools where self esteem should be given with encouragement. Sounds idealic I know but the power and potential is there really I believe that. Even if children have bad home lives schools could offer solice and encouragement. Praise and encouragement don't cost a penny but the rewards in a person who has self esteem are priceless!

  8. I was actually 80% male and Yam, who found this link, was female. My sister has always said I can be a bit blokey as I can concentrate on one thing whilst chaos reigns around me and I have to admit that I am not typically female in that I am not comfortable with multi-tasking, which I'm told is a female trait. Interestingly enough one time Yam rang me I was lifting floor tiles in my kitchen whilst he was baking cakes in his, something we laugh about often... but on the outside I'm definately very very feminine!

  9. Was Princess Diana's death an accident or did the MI (what ever number it was) do it? I think she was killed as the monarchy wouldn't have liked a muslim for a stepfather to the princes/the next king of England (Charlie ain't gonna be it) or even a step brother or sister for that matter... on the other hand... she and Dodi may also have had their deaths faked and are living a happy life on some secluded Island somewhere... either way it wasn't an accident!
