  1. -Well, one also has to have the right shape of legs to wear a pair like those... The shafts seem to slim even for me, even though I do not have very muscular calves. Anyhow they *do* look real nice, so if they fit, go and get them... TallSwede

  2. Guest asked: -And got my answers... :-) May I ask how hard is to walk with high heels in streets full of snow? Just as horrible as when walking flat-footed... And what happens when snow solidifies and changes to ice? -Have you heard about studded car tires? Stilettoes will bring you a similar benefit when avoiding slippage. Anybody dares to do it? Yes I do. I have not within my powers to will the cold and snow away, so I have to live with it (-Somebody please fill in the postmans "ode/verse" here (...? -Come snow, come hail...??) for me) and I must say that I feel safer wearing HH's than flats on ice as I get a better grip. Are boots good for this purpose? Boots are good as they prevent snow to reach your leg until it is so deep that the depth exceeds the length of your shafts, while shoes will cause your socks/stockings to become soggy after a few steps in the snow. Boots also helps you prevent spraining your ankles as they (at least somewhat) support the crossover between the foot and the lower leg, so a stumble is less risky in this case. Merry Christmas (in a few days, at least) TallSwede

  3. Sorry about the above subject, but I have a hard time to understand why we at this stage of IT development have to make do with a "newsgroup imitation" which can not automatically sort out who replies to which previous post/reply. -Anyhow the possible interested readers might anyhow be able to find out which original post my reply refers to, and if not, just disregard my current post and get on with their lives without too much of a bad experience... "However, since the birth of our first child, she has become a lot less tolerant, and even sees it as threatening. We have made a comprise, in that I will only wear them when she is not home, and if I want a "session", she can disappear for a while." -My children (aged 6 and 12) and my parents (aged 79 and 77) have no problems with my use of HH footwear and/or toenail polish. I have still been a little cautious when using (hand)nail polish in their "public" presence though, as I do not want to complicate their "private" life. Regards, TallSwede

  4. This subforum is called "Hellos, goodbyes and..." I have been rereading quite a few my (English(American)) books lately authored during 1965-80 and repeatedly found the spelling "goodby" of the word I did not remember any other spelling of than "goodbye". I have my excuse in that I am born and grown up in Sweden (still living there by the way...), but still... -I thought that I had a better grasp of English than having missed something like this... -Sigh... Please, can anyone try to enlighten me about this matter! Regards, TallSwede

  5. Hi! You wrote: It is mental isn't it? I do know of (well actually I am a member of) a site that is purely for men that paint their nails. On that site there is a file that has celebrities that paint their nails. There is a picture of Antonio Banderas, Ricky Martin, Keanu Reeves and David Beckham all wearing nail polish. They look really good. I will try to copy them onto here later. Please let me (and other interested readers) know the url to this site. I am all for the free for all use of nail polish (where it belongs, and not up the nose while drying as some use it as an alternative to other toxic fumes... ). Regards, TallSwede
