Nice choice and sorry you missed them... I curious what they're like to walk in? Any feedback??
I'm extremely curious myself. I've seen the videos on heels.com of them and they look fairly normal to me.

There's a video in the link of them being worn.

It's so awesome how much thought and effort you put into your fashion choices.

As others have mentioned a pair of boots/booties is your best bet for going unnoticed. A pair of boot cut pants with a longer inseam will help hide them as well.

Well after much consideration I pulled the trigger and ordered these. They are on sale at RackRoomShoes.com for $14.99. I tried the find in store option but there was nothing within 100 miles. I'll keep you all posted. 7-10 day delivery estimate.

TBG , I was in a hurry that day . I had to get to a hospital in Louisville . Mom's health was getting worse . She passed a week later . Had it been under different circumstances that day , we could have had a late lunch or headed over to General Butler State Park . They have a lot of paths there . May be a good place to meet up again . Just an idea....
I'm sorry for your loss.
General Butler is approximately 20 minutes from me. I've not considered an adventure there for fear I'd run into someone I know. But I'm a bit bolder now. I may try that out.

My first outing trying shoes on in store was about a week ago. The first place I stopped was Dillard's. I've always loved jessica simpson shoes but never the courage to order online and be disappointed with them not fitting. So I stroll in and find a pair of half d'orsay peep toe pumps and ask for an 11. The SA was a pleasant younger Asian lady and seemed happy to help me. When my fears of being too narrow were confirmed she offered to bring out more shoes for me. I politely declined and made my way to JC Penney then Sears then Payless and then Shoe Sensation and then across the street to Shoe Carnival. I ended up going home with nothing since most of what I liked was either not in my budget or not in my size. But the experience was amazing and I hope with a fatter wallet I can meet the same SA at Dillard's again.

I guess I was too focused on a guys opinion/experience and didn't think about that. Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm about halfway between Cincinnati and Louisville. My last outing was in Clarksville IN at the Greentree mall. I think my next trip will be the Florence mall in Florence KY.
And I don't actually go for a "walk in the park" lol. I go to a couple of the more secluded picnic areas and read or Web.

I've been wearing heels/"women's" shoes for nearly 20 years. My public outings were always limited to the local state park in the off season. I have found a few spots there that offer privacy but a sense of openness to satisfy my desire to wear in public. My current collection is limited to 2 pairs of shoes. I have a strappy leather pair of flat sandals and a pair of faux suede platforms with a peeptoe and ankle strap. I'm hoping for that to grow soon.
After reading everyone's experiences I got bold. I was going to wear my heels in full view in public. My goal was to walk in to a store and try on a pair of shoes. To make the process easier I removed the ankle strap but that allowed the heel to slip. So I settled for plan B and went to the nearest mall 45 minutes away and walked in wearing my sandals with my metallic navy colored toes on display. I saw some looks but never any comments. The saleswoman in Dillard's was awesome. There were a few times I felt conscious of my feet but I really relaxed a bit by the end. Had I been in heels that might have been different lol. But I walked the whole mall and a couple stores in the neighborhood also. Was a little over an hour altogether. Looking forward to going again.

Today was my first time wearing heels into a store. It was nerve racking, exciting, and liberating all at the same time. The store was relatively empty and the staff left me to myself when they noticed my attire. I tried on a few different pairs of shoes and hadn't really planned to buy anything. I was just there to try on some different brands but found a pair of heeled sandals on clearance. The store was Shoe Carnival.
