  1. I bought my first pair in 1995, aged 19, from Transformation in London, which was (and possibly still is) a store for transvestites in London. Black 'leather' courts with a 3  1/2 inch heel. I was so scared of going in and trying them on I nearly cried. Took them home, hid them mostly, but wore them when I could. Lost them (along with many others) in a lifestyle cleansing exercise in about 2000, bought on by a doomed relationship with what turned out to be a fairly toxic little blonde.

Miss them to this day, although they were cheaply made and vastly overpriced for what they were. But you never forget your first time ;)

  2. Thanks for the replies guys. Clermont Ferrand is in the area called the Massive Centrale, pretty much slap bang in the middle of France, about a 5 hour drive south from Paris, and up in the hills. It's where Volvic mineral water comes from. Nice town, think I probably had the highest heels in it though!

  3. So, just enjoyed a lovely couple of hours late night wandering around Clermont Ferrand in France. It's gone midnight on a Sunday, so admittedly the street are quiet, but those I passed either had no reaction or smiled, so all good!

For the record I'm wearing a mans sweater from Topman, leather look skirt from Primark, close weave fishnets from M&S, over knee opaques from Claire's Accessories, and my new favourite boots, all suede platforms from Jeffrey Campbell.

Comments on the outfit are welcome, I'm aware it's a bit slutty! But for a mid-forties tall and overweight man, I'm pretty happy with it!

Look forward to your replies ;)

  4. I've found a couple of good shops whilst travelling around Europe. I'll leave out places selling the Pleaser range, as they're available all over the place, but these shops sell more 'fashionable' shoes.

Just bought a pair of Jeffrey Campbell Lita's through this site, fast delivery and 100 day return policy, not that mine will be going back! Very happy.

Excellent shop in Milan that do mail order too. I have three pairs of shoes from here, very well made and accurate sizing, though I have had heel trouble on one pair of ankle boots (I'm a good bit heavier that their target customer though!). I've only ever bought in person in their Milan shop, where they are very friendly and helpful.

    I've also shopped in person at Big Shoe in Amsterdam, but their website is down, which doesn't bode well. I found this place, and others, through this website though, some good leads;

    Hope that helps ;)

  5. I really really want a pair of Cristian Louboutin heels, black suede courts would do me nicely. Maybe like these Ron Ron's currently offered on their website. Trouble is I'm a size 46/47, and they only go up to a 43! I have heard tell that they do made to measure, and I'd pay the price too, but I've never been able to find out any more. Anyone have any leads?

     Age: 44

    Gender: Male

Location: All over Europe, but my home is on the Suffolk coast, UK

Occupation: Band Bus Driver in the rock and roll industry

     Height: 6'3"

    Weight: 18st and falling, slowly...

Shoe size: Mens UK 11, Euro 46/47 damn it...

What's your favourite heel style: Stiletto, followed by tapered block

What's your favourite shoe style: Courts, ankle boots, don't like the toes or heels exposed

Do you wear your heels outside: Yes, when I can/have had enough to drink ;)

    What is:

    (a) Your favourite heel height: Probably about 4", but like a platform too

    (b) Your highest heel height: 9" (I have some ballet boots, buggered if I can walk in them though...)

How often do you wear: Minimum once a week in public

Well if I am not working I am wearing a lot, like a 4, if I am working I am a zero. As overall average I would say 3-4 in the public realm.

I'm the same for the same reasons...

  8. Loving this thread guys, inspiration for us all there! I've just invested in a simple long sleeved black jersey dress that I planned on pairing with dark blue denim 'jeggings' and black suede ankle boots. Not sure how well I'll carry it off, being both beardy and not so slim, but really keen to try now. Thanks :cheeky:

  9. I wear them when I can at home, which isn't that often unfortunately. Don't get problems with sore feet, but usually have a sore head. My house is 16th century and has some low beams, so being 6'3" in bare feet, and then forgetting I have heels on, often ends with some swearing!

  10. Hello everyone, glad to finally be a part of your community!

I'm UK based, but spend most of my working life travelling throughout Europe and the US, and though I'm a lover of high heels, I'm also I guess what could be described as a failed transvestite. When I was younger I had very strong TV/TS leanings, and was lucky enough to have explored it for a while. But I'm also a realist, and despite the girl within, the tall heavy hairy bloke without won the battle and, despite what my fantasy head may have wanted, I realised I was never going to be able to pass or be happy with full on femininity, and I got on with life as a bloke.

I've always had some heels tucked away somewhere for those times I could wear them though, mostly in private, though over the last year or two I've taken to a more 'fuck it' attitude to what others think, and I've started wearing them in public on occasion too. Spending a lot of time in cities where I don't know anyone has given me the freedom to indulge my love of heels out on the streets, and I'm learning to just ignore the funny looks and enjoy myself. I'm lucky that my partner is cool with it too, and she's been out in public with me wearing them too, though I'm careful not to cause her any embarrassment if I can help it. I've also found a couple of stores around Europe that stock fashionable shoes in my large size (46/47 depending on height), and they've been happy to let me try on in store, which is so much better than internet shopping.

Anyway, thats me, I hope to get to know some of you on here, and I'll get around to posting some pictures when I can. Thanks for letting me be a part of things!

    Jura ;)
