  1. Just to say I'm leaving HHP, at least for the time being. I can't see myself returning, but you never know. Tech's posts in the nationalhighheelsweek topic haven't helped, but it's not only that. I've been thinking about it for a while, and I think it just comes down to the fact I have nothing left to give as a lot of the topics about guys in heels, crushing, being locked into heels, wearing heels in bed etc aren't relevant to me. I used to think girls just didn't like talking about shoes and stuff like that, but they do, just not here it seems, so I think I have more to contribute elsewhere. I have tried and failed to revive the girls' forum, and however much I ask, guys still keep voting in girls-only polls. It's obviously impossible to police this kind of thing, so I've given up even trying. I have enjoyed my time here. I have met many interesting, polite and exciting characters here. I have learnt a lot of interesting things from the many thousands of posts members make here. I can't guarantee I will be checking this topic again, so if you have anything to say please drop me a PM. Thanks :winkiss:

  2. I have a pair of the Bebe heels too that I ordered from the US, they're not bad IMHO but like you say they have nothing on real Tribtoos. I have got the real thing in patent black with the yellow soles, the patent is such good quality. The New Look ones are very cheap quality, they'll be worse than the Bebe ones you have - not sure how best to get your hands on some. Are there must be brands in the US that copy the style?

  3. I would be very very surprised if there are any resellers. New Look is just a clothes chain and all their stuff is own brand and I've never seen it for sale elsewhere. Bebe in the US did a style called Liza that was another copy of the Tribtoo but it's out of stock at the moment, but it's worth having a look around because copies do exist.

  4. Although I've discovered expensive brands now such as Louboutin, Giuseppe Zanotti, Fendi etc, I do have a soft spot still for New Look. My tastes are always changing and I've sold dozens of my old stripper shoes, but still have 25 or so pairs from New Look for the same reason. They're good looking shoes, they're cheap and cheerful and they're good for heavy nights out where you don't mind knocking them about. There's no way I'd wear a pair of £400 to a club or loud bar, I save them for restaurants and quieter nights out.

  5. I just checked on the NL website and they're 14cm/5.5 inches and I'd guess that the platform is 1" high. I don't mind New Look's plats, they're normally quite nicely proportioned for me although a lot of their summer styles are pretty shallow, and I really don't like plats if the heel is too short because the platform looks out of proportion and it makes my feet look too big!

  6. Can you remember exactly what colours there were out of interest? I can see what you mean about cheap and cheerful alternatives that you're not scared to wear out. I've seen a pair of hot pink YSL Tribtoos that I really want to get for my sister but I literally can't find them anywhere so maybe a pink pair of NL shoes will tide her over.

  7. I already have a pair of YSL Tribtoos in patent black so will resist the urge but thanks for thinking of me. I also have a copy from Bebe with a stacked wood heel - I don't normally buy copies of originals unless they offer something different to the official style.

  8. Aha, ok I admit, I have a few pairs like that with hidden platforms. I like the non platform look and theyre comfy too.

Maybe I should have had a few more options on the poll to include liking hidden platforms, YSL Tribute-style platforms (which I love) and super high platforms. 20-20 hindsight is a wonderful thing tho!

I have at least 20 pairs of platforms, unlike Roz I haven't out grown my addiction to super high stripper platforms. All of mine have at least 2" platforms up to 4". I wear the 6" plats with jeans sometimes while running errands, but usually i am wearing to parties or a night out dancing. I have some clear, white, red, black, pink and one pair of screaming yellow plats. <smiles>

Have fun and be proud wearing them. I see more and more women doing it.

    Peggy

Yeah, platforms seem really popular at the moment. Some of the shoes being worn out now even I would have stopped short of wearing a few years ago. I still have a few stripper-style plats, but only ones that I think look really nice as opposed to just the plastic lumps, although I obviously still see the appeal of them. I sold about 40 pairs of my super high ones which has helped me get new (arguably more sensible!) shoes.
  9. I agree that heels are a lot more popular in Japan. We do eventually borrow some styles from there (short plaid skirts and clumpy boots etc) but they're generally very experimental and wear some really sharp outfits. You do see some really nice heels in London, and I'm not sure you'd see many Louboutins or European shoes over there, but they do have amazing taste in heels and they're VERY popular.

  10. Hmmm! I just reviewed the results of this poll. 50 people have voted. I didn't realize that we have 50 female members. If some guys voted here, then aren't the results invalid since the way I read the question, it was posed for females to answer. Where am I going wrong?

Even if I start polls in the girls forum and put ***GIRLS ONLY*** in the subject guys still vote and render the polls pointless when they're from a girls perspective. It's one reason why I don't post polls any more.
  11. What kind of bad feedback are you getting? What exactly are they saying? I never get bad comments about my shoes really, not from anyone important anyway. What else are you wearing with the shoes? Are the comments about just your shoes or the whole outfit?

  12. Oh wow, good work. They fit really well there don't they? I kiinda like the idea they have their own corridor! I still haven't got a proper shoe room as I've moved house, so all my shoes are in their boxes stacked up in a spare room with poloroids stuck on the boxes!
