  1. I go to work every morning walking downtown of my city. I never take the shortest route, but choose a one where there are more shoestores on the way. Even though they are not open yet so early, I want to take a look... I think I remember most of the boots in the four stores - where the prettier ones are situated on the windows...

Does anyone else alter the route to work because of footwear stores?

My favourite ones on the way look something like this:

  2. Many people tend to think that the heel height is th main factor for making the difference between men's and women's footwear. I'm glad to think otherwise, since there are plenty of "non-female" footwear which are suitable foe men even around more conservative people, for example

    5 inch heel, 1 1/2 platform

    or these:

    3 inch high heel

    Compare to:

    2 1/2 inch stiletto heel

So what makes the difference? Mostly the heel shape and the toe shape, isn't it? There are boots with no heel (OK: 1 inch) but look really feminine... some other "tank-type" robust boots have 4-5 inch heel that look quite unisex.

So a suggestion to newbie shy wearers: start with normal heel height boots (2-3 inches) but more robust ones - later gradually changing it to more elegant styles won't be a problem

  3. Today I reckoned I give it a try and see if I can get any local boots for myself. Incouraged my some of You guys, who can manage wearing some boots a size smaller, - I went to a local shoestore with footwear only for women. I looked around and since there were only a couple of mature foreign lady customers, I felt comfortable and asked the saleslady if I could try on some women's boots. She (a Russian woman) said "Yes, of course". So I picked up the largest size they had (42) and tried on some modest heeled boots - almost umisex. Since it felt OK, I tried on some pairs with higher block heel, maybe 2-3 inches. They didn't fit, but I got to talk to the saleslady again. She was very helpful. My excuse was: "My wife wants me to wear beautiful and elegant boots, not like my male ones are" pointing down at my robust work-look boots. She said she understood but asked if I had already tried the male department. I told her that I havd seen everything, but female boots are much more pretty and comfy... Since then I have much more courage to go shopping wherever I like. Had there been boots for my sixe, I would definitely bought a pair, but still a nice experience. So I recommend you all secret ones - if you really want good boots, consult the salespeople - it pays off! But if you only want excitement - go ahead and do it secretly!

  4. I`m stuck in my heels for the rest of my life. My toes are permanently bent into the middle of the feet, as in all lady`s pumps. But it`s ok, I`v got used to it. And I like the thought that I can wear nothing else than heels.

Hey, Ilse, why don't you become a shoe model for extra high heels? Or a Highheel Princess (we have a goddess already)?

A lot of women think the opposite - they want to be able to wear high heels longer - at least you don't have that problem

  5. While sitting at the hospital waiting for a blood draw for my wife, there was a very nice looking young lady sitting across from us.

Yesterday the Russians celebrated Christmas, so I went to the church with one woman. I was really surprised how many young and pretty women were there and some of them wearing really high spiked boots!

You know - church, religion and all that - I thought it was some modest thing where women are not supposed to be showing off... but I'm glad it's not that bad :( Next time I go there more willingly...

P.S. It is really cold here right now - about -25 degrees Celsius - but still lots of women wear autum-wear fashion boots :)

  6. Yesterday on television I saw a Kylie Minogue concert - Kylie "Fever" Tour 2002. Wou! She really likes heels, doesn't she? Thigh-high silver and golden stiletto boots, miniskirts and she really wears them elegantly... mmm...

When singing one of her hits, two of her male dancers wore stiletto ankle boots, too. If anyone has a chance to see her concert, go check it out!

  7. I'm looking for a good pair of winter boots, but the problem is, as always, the size :( . For example I like this model from http://www.famousfootwear.com:

    Posted Image The price: $55.

    Or a little higher:

    Posted Image The price: $35.

The largest they offer is 41, but I need at least 43 (better 44). Does anyone know where to get something like that in Europe? Requirements: color - black, knee-high, block-heel, side-zipper.

  8. ...all positive - till one guy said "only streetwalkers wear shoes like that" which sort of blew it but u cant please everyone

Categorizing highheeled women into hookers is like categorizing men in highheels into gays :x

Yeah... things you cannot obtain or have yourself you just have to crush and mock... a problem of the narrowminded and jealous...

  9. Does anyone have any tips or tricks to try on heels in shoe shops unnoticed?

Well, I agree with most guys' opinion - no tricks! That is: act normal - just like you were making a selection or purchase at any store.

But if you really want to be unnoticed, here's what you can try. Here we have shops that have shelves for ladies and men shoes really close - so you can take a pair of men's shoes, sit down and try to put them on. But it the air is clear, you can grab your fav ladies shoes and try them on.

Since we don't have any female footwear for my size and my girlfriend is fond of highheels too, I usually go around shops ad look closely at any kind of footwear I like - just like I was choosing a present for my girl. Nobody ever looks weird about that!

But again: I think it is kind of exciting to try on highheel shoes in a store so that noone notices

  10. Those stilletto are hard to walk. I wish I could train and walk more with them.

Well, Tahira, it's not impossible! If you really want to master walking in those spike heels, you have to train with reason - start from lower heels and shorter wearing time and increase it gradually. Well, I think there are plenty of threads about this issue, so go ahead and read them!

  11. I was probably about 6 or 7. My mom had a pair of knee high boots with about a 3 inch heel. I loved the way they felt and have never forgot that pair. I wish I could find some like them.

Yeah, the first pair remains deep in the mind, doesn't it? I stilll get excited when I think about my granny's brown boots which I wore 15 years ago the first time...

  12. CDragon,

Don't worry about a trip into Payless to buy shoes. That is the easiest trip out there for a high heel wearing guy. The staff could care less about customers choices.

I wish there were that kind of shops here in Estonia. Since we don't have men's sizes (over 41 European), it is only fun to watch. But if I really want something, you have to order from some Internet shop abroad and risk the money. If there were bigger sizes here it would be paradise

But if you have smaller feet, is is paradise :(

  13. I was playing around with my new digital video camera (Aiptek Pocket DV II), and decided to see what I look like lurching about on 7 inch heels. I think I do it rather well...

I found it plays very slowly in Internet Explorer but goes full speed in Netscape 6.2 and Opera.

yes, you do it well indeed!

I use IE 6.0 and it was kindda chumpy, but the video is visible OK. Any more like these?
