  1. I've been trying to track down these metallic gold thigh boots for sometime now and have spent a good while on and off searching online but so far without any luck. I have come across a few similar styles by Pleaser but I particularly like the design style of the front, toe and leg style of these boots compared to the Pleasers plain styling.

From the searches I did find, I did come across photos of these boots by the owners, I also contacted the photo owners who were only able to tell me that they were from ebay perhaps around 2010 which may suggest they are discontinued, but could not provide any branding or seller information. Perhaps these are generic unbranded boots or maybe they were only available in certain countries?

Judging from the flickr site link, they same boots come in other metallic colours, so maybe those are more identifiable to someone here who may have the same style... I hope so! :text_help:

    Thanks all!

  2. I hate standing in them for long periods, it seems so much harder than walking. I also don't like the pain in the balls of my feet if I've overdone it. On the other hand I do like the fact that I can now understand what it's like to spend a night out in heels and can sympathise with women who wear them.

The only other thing I dislike is that I keep finding pairs that I feel I can't live without and then having to find room to store them! Fortunately my GF's cool with it as long as they don't take over the house.

    Chris

I couldn't agree more, I dont mind the standing and I've yet to get pains yet but I can sympathise even more than I did before as I am sporting my first ever heel blister so while I can bear with having it with honour, I can now truly empathise as well. ;-)

  3. I don't like having to stand in one place for ages.

One reason why I am never late! ;-)

I'd have to say I dislike that they rarely come with metal tips, although I once heard that plastic tips are meant to be better for you as they 'act like shock absorbers'. I have my reservations. Also that styles are limited or non existent in higher sizes.

  4. Well, my inquisitive mind has got me a pair of boots, not that I'm complaining at all. I got this present after wowing a gf with a nice turquoise bowed giftbox. Strangely as knowledgeable as I now am to the hows and whys, I am stumped as to how they should lace, other than my final attempt as shown - but hating to have to go around the front to continue lacing up the other side. Or maybe I should have crossed around the back? :welcome: If you have a clue how this one long lace should go, I'd appreciate your input ladies and gentlemen! Perhaps even a diagram drawn over the attached pic of how you would thread it.

  5. True patent leather hasn't been available for years now. What we call "Patent Leather" today is all man-made material, but still my favorite in heels with good fit and looking sexy as all get out.

Not sure if I have known patent is its previous form other than perhaps the stuff thats around today, or would I know the difference if it isnt shiny or squeaks in contact?

Its possible it still has its stigmas to quality when it isnt made of leather or suede. Even strangely the existence of PU or leatherette shoes attract a more classier, less-shinier appearance.

  6. Havent really posted for a long while due to allsorts but getting back on the straight and narrow - or show that be high and wide? Do you find your preferences change in the materials the shoes are made with. My point being? Patent. Call it personal preference or sheer fussiness, but can patent shoes still be considered stylish or elegant? Is Patent still an everyday acceptance or does it cry out any kind of label? Does leather/suede still form a benchmark in shoe material or quality?

  7. So far no female responses, which would be interesting to read, but I can't see how they would be comfortable, it would be like tip-toeing around and doesnt seem to give the calf muscles any support - but I certainly wouldn't spend £1000+ on them.

  8. The attraction that comes with women in heels will always be there for us even if men were to come out and wear heels every day. To me, it will just make the attraction twice as fun and exciting.

I agree, women will always have the sexy edge regardless of heels! Hips don't lie (as the song goes) and elegance only exists in women. ;)

Its hard to imagine an increase in separations or divorces just because she took her heels off! :cool1:

  9. OMG! ;)

I've personally never come across a place that has those signs here in the UK, and dreading that it should ever!!

I haven't tried them on ice, but dont have any problems with metal tips at all, in fact on smooth surfaces, I think the grip is better than plastic tips.

When wearing what do you do when you come across a place posted "No Metal tipped shoes allowed?" We actually have several such places like that around here.

  10. I have this problem. I used to be quite sporty, and my calves are pretty much solid muscle...

Yeah, same problem with me from all the hiking etc. Muscular / shapely but disadvantaged by leaner knee! :w00t2:

I know what you mean about sticking to shoes or perhaps ankle boots. Did wonder about getting knee boots that have material from the ankle upwards if you know which ones I mean - they look fab and hopefully hug the calf upwards as opposed to leather uppers (or is the correct term "shaft"? :santa_hat: (E.g. Agnese from Ialian Heels)
