  1. Fioni Night Lolita sandals finally arrived from Payless.com. I wore them around the apartment for a couple hours, doing some cleaning and whatnot, to get a feel for them. These are going to take some time to get used to as it's been years since I've been in anything like this. I can tell these are going to be pretty gnarly on my outer toes until they soften up a bit. It'll be nice once it warms up and I can shed my ankle tan!

  2. It's rare that I can find heels in my size through regular retailers that have a review system in place. However when I do, I almost always make a point to include pictures with my review. I primary do it because: A) most of the pictures people include barely show anything to help figure out how the shoe is going to look outside of the product pictures. B ) to show that even a regular, middle of the road demographic, t-shirt and jeans type guy, who takes care of his legs, can look good in heels. C) because I hope that maybe other guys on the fence about placing an order will gain a little confidence and just go for it. D) to show the retailers and any naysayers that "regular" men are buying heels, are wearing heels, and are willing to share their educated opinions about heels.

  3. While doing some online gift shopping I noticed these but my size wasn't available.

Went to complete my order today and noticed that now they are, in fact, available in size 13. I had a 25% off coupon code and it's free shipping over $30 so I decided the heck with it and ordered them. Pretty darn femme for me as that's really usually not my personal heel preference (I tend to wear classic office type pumps), and I'll probably never wear them out, but I figured they'd be fun for a night in with my girlfriend. :)

  4. great shoes, but they unfortunately don't ship to europe... DAMN!

Have you tried ordering direct from Iron Fist? Quite a few of the styles Just Fab sells (and nearly all the styles shown in their ads) are from Iron Fist. Sometimes it's discontinued stuff, sometimes excess inventory, but for the most part you should be able to find the same or similar styles direct from Iron Fist. Iron Fist is a strange company though as their pricing, website, inventory, clearance, sales - pretty much everything bounces around at a moment's notice. For awhile there they were in bed with Hot Topic pretty good which was nice as Hot Topic used to have pretty crazy clearance + coupon promotions. My girlfriend really likes the brand and the quality is decent as man-made shoes go, lots of vinyl in some designs, and the fit is fairly true to size.

  5. Thank you JeffB, hh4evr1, and HenriHH. Payless does offer the Karmen in matte white. If / when they split navy and offer a navy patent I think a pair of white will be in my next order along with red patent as well. How patriotic (red patent, white matte, navy patent). Karmen pumps are honestly my "house slippers" these days.

  6. Tax return meant that I had "earned" myself a little retail therapy. Local Payless stores and the Rack haven't had much lately so I ordered online. All three pairs are from Payless. First pair (6th, 7th, and 8th pictures) are the La Femme pump from Christian Siriano for Payless. I'll be honest, I really haven't been too keen on Christian's styles but these are an excellent classic pump. These hit all the right spots for me with a nice heel height, almond toe, and a platform that is very thin. I don't mind the platform styles but it seems that single sole heels are getting harder and harder to find, at least in my size. The 13's fit great right out of the box and are very comfortable aside from the right toebox being a little tight (as is usual with me). I've been wearing these for about three hours and they feel really good. Get them well you can as they're still on sale! Second pair (3rd and 4th pictures) are the staple, Karmen by Predictions, in black patent. I've had the regular black and the nude patent for a long time and wear them more than any other heels. Totally comfortable right out of the box. I often refer to this style as "pre-broken in" and hope they keep it going for awhile. Third pair (1st and 2nd pictures) are Karmen as well but in navy, my favorite shoe color. I noticed that the Payless website seems to be splitting the navy into the regular (these) and a navy patent. I'll definitely be picking those up if they come up in my size.

  7. There used to be a time when a 14 year old girl buying heels would feel it necessary to hide them. I was 16 or 17 when I bought my first heels, but before then I salvaged a pair that my mum had put in a box for the charity shop, and I kept those hidden. The secrecy of the shoes probably added to their appeal. If I spent my pocket-money on a record I'd sometimes hide that too. It'd be nice to think that the parent-child relationship has moved on a bit since that era, but some things never change.

    Isn't that the truth!

  8. Another eBay thing I've recently re-encountered: Sellers who throw shoes in soft bubble wrap mailers without any kind of packing whatsoever. The shoes tend to get scuffed. Jeez, at least stuff something in the toes so they don't get smashed.

Bah, I hate that. Then again I guess you don't have to worry about them getting scuffed if the heels tear through the package in transit and disappear somewhere along the way, which has happened before as well.

What do people do with the little loop of material inside shoes that they use to join a pair togeather ?

I usually snip it out with a pair of small sheers.

  9. If you feel a need to purge, consider donating them to a local Walk A Mile In Her Shoes organization. They're always in need of large sized shoes for their walks.

I never thought of that but that is a great idea!

  10. I have a couple of dozen pairs that I need to get rid of. I'm sort of a pack rat. I should put them on eBay, as they're in near-new condition. Don't know why I haven't got around to it.

That's actually what I have been doing as of late. I equate it to other hobbies or things in my lifestyle that I like to collect, converse about, and use. I can't have a warehouse of heels (and funky sneakers, which is another one of my things) so pairs I really don't wear more than a few times, that I'm really not attached to, I pass along rather than trash. Then you have more space and more cash to buy... more heels!

I will say though, it's really nice NOT to have the feelings of "I gotta get rid of these" every now and then. I wish I would have sold instead of thrown out back when I was in a purge cycle. At least I wouldn't be out as much money but back then it was always a rash decision and out to the trash they went without any rational thinking. However now that I've "purged" the issue to purge, I find selling and / or donating rationally unwanted specific pairs an enjoyable part of heeling. I suppose most of that is from finally letting my girlfriend know last year.

  11. Hello all, thank you for the verification and welcome! I'm a guy in my early 30's from California that has been heeling off and on for 12 years. I tend to keep it an indoors affair but have been out a couple times now and again. I'm all for people wearing whatever the heck they want other than being adversely lewd. I bought and purged heavily a few times over the past four years before settling into the "no purge" zone last year. After a night of playing "naughty secretaries," my girlfriend came around to me heeling at home and has been supportive since. (She probably would have been before that but I hadn't brought it up) You may recognize me from my Payless.com reviews (with photos) under the same name. My US men's size is 11.5 - 12 so usually wearing a women's 13 doesn't leave me a ton of options but Payless has been a great source of heels at affordable prices. I also shop Nordstrom Rack from time to time as well as buy heels online through major retailers, third party vendors, and online auctions. I started heeling late in high school as I found it added extra eroticisim to private time. Over the years since I've found relief for my chronic ankle and knee pain by heeling a few days a week. Not to mention the flat out comfort and euphoria I get wearing pumps or heeled oxfords. I'm not really intrested in wearing "women's" attire outside of hosiery (I wear pantyhose almost every day) but I have skirted up a couple times. My favorite style is the classic 3" - 4" single sole almond-toe pump. I like a wide variety of heels but there's just something about almond-toe pumps that really appeal to me. I tend to gravitate to vintage inspired styles and as I said above, I love heeled oxfords. My favorite heel colors are navy, patent black, green (impossible to find in 13 without breaking the bank it seems), and yellow (even harder to find still). I look forward to sharing experiences and talking heels with other like-minded users!
