I've thought about doing the same with a few layers of rubber. I think it would look good and work pretty well as long as I take my time and make a nice clean cut. To form the rubber platform I would probably use about 4-5 layers glued with Bestine rubber cement and prepped with the Bestine thinner (it's about the best we can get here in the 'states) and then attach the platform to the shoe using Barge cement. I used to have a bunch of small 1/8" thick squares of rubber here but have no idea where they went after moving. I'll certainly post pics if I ever get around to doing it, and hope you do the same. Good Luck!

wow, what a crappy video. That is some of the worst cinematography and editing I've seen. Is this supposed to be a professionally made video? B o r i n g .... but hey, at least she's wearing ballets and actually standing in them in a few scenes. Thanks for the link!

The Louisville area could be a GREAT place for a heel meet! The Highest Heel and Zappos are both in the area. I'm pretty sure Zappos has scheduled tours of it's facilities, and the nice folks at The Highest Heel may work something out as well.
-
Hate them. Not just because they're flats and we're posting on a high heel themed forum, but they're just plain UGGly.

If you're into ballet-heels in public (and other high heel related fun) you may want to check our photostream on flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/owner
Have fun, and we're looking forward to your reactions ...
great photos owner! I appreciate the quality as well as the content

She is accepting of the fact that I enjoy wearing heels, and even tells me to go put them on sometimes, but it's not a turn-on for her.
-
They look awsome but I can't walk in them. Ballet boots are easier to walk in than these.
I agree.
The Deranged heels are a bit too tall for me, and simply not enjoyable to wear (at least for me). Maybe I need to practice more? I have seen a few vids of women, and a few men walk successfully in heels with a similar arch though.
-
wow! She certainly can walk very well in those heels! great videos too, thanks for sharing these!

Sounds fun! I enjoy wearing mine for bondage purposes as well, but I can still walk in them a bit, but it's not exactly pretty. If I ever get around to cutting about a half inch off the heel, I would probably walk pretty well, and plan on wearing them out to a fetish party sometime soon. hmmm...end of may in FL? we'll see. Anyway, I also wear a size 12 high heel, but a size 11 ballet boot fits much better. I could probably fit a 10 as well but wouldn't have much room for toe padding. Which size did you end up getting?
-
I noticed that as well. Devious ballet boots typically run at least one size large. I usually wear a size 12 in heels over 5", but my ballets are 11, and I could probably fit a size 10, but wouldn't leave much room for toe padding.I wonder if your boots are 1 size to large? I notice that the toes of your boots are sort-of crushing when you put your weight on them. I have seen this in other bboot videos. Is this normal or are we missing something?
Any Ideas from fellow bboot walkers out there?

I've always loved that photo! Tim Dolph's photos always seem to have story behind them and usually have many elements to them. Great photographer, and actually a friend of mine.

My choice heels actually measure 5.75" with no platform. These are really the most comfortable to walk in, and most enjoyable to wear. Anything less seems like my feet are too flat. I'd like to find a sz 12 shoe with a heel that actually measures 6". I have trouble finding platforms with a similar arch
-
quite lovely! what brand/style are those? I don't think I would wear them, but I'd love to see them on my GF.
-
Yes, it's about equivlent to a 4" single sole heel, so it can be a lot easier to walk in for extended periods. If you look at some of the 5 3/4" styles and even 6" platforms you'll notice they feature a one-peice molded sole which makes the shoe stiffer and even easier to walk in. 6" with 2" platform is fairly easy to walk in, and most have better padding than the single sole heels because they are marketed toward the dancers. Hope this helps!
-
Why can't you last in them? Is it that your toes are squished, the balls of your feet start aching, or your ankles get sore? 5" heels should be fairly easy to walk in, but you may need to try some padded insoles made for high heels, the gel type are nice , or the shoes may be just too small for your foot. Once you fix those problems, walk in them as much as possible to strengthen and increase flexibility in your calves and ankles. You can also get a pair with a chunky or thicker heel to aid in balance. Good luck! Give it some time and practice!

- What department was the ped egg in Wal-Mart? Was it over by the files and whatnot, or by the shoe inserts (or in another place?)
look on the endcaps and side caps in the beauty care section, but we found it on an end cap at the checkout lanes.

ok, reviving an OLD thread here, but check out http://www.thefamilyvintage.com for some great vintage finds for both women and men. The above link will bring you to the ebay store. New stuff posted every week.

I agree! the Ped Egg works wonders! We just got one a couple days ago. My girlfriend and I have been using the old pumice stone semi-regularly with slow results, but the egg seems to just whisk away all of the thick skin very easily. And there is some sort of weird gratification you get when you open it up to empty the skin shavings and really see how much skin you just filed away! It does indeed work very well.

There's tons of options! I guess if you had a more specific request for a certain style it would narrow down the options a bit. There's a at least a few dozen different styles in my store that are offered in Red Patent, let me know if you need assistance. Link is in the sig A womens UK 6 is equal to an 8.5 or 9 in US womens sizes.

She can certainly get around pretty good in her ballet's! Just needs to cut a 1/2" off the heel to keep those legs straight. Nice vids, thanks for posting!

I was headed to the dance supply store just today to get a pair gel inserts for my and my girlfriend's ballet heels and had the pleasure to follow a quite attractive girl wearing short jean shorts and some very nice 4.5-5" heels while walking downtown. She looked great, and they were some nice heels as well! (Although I think I can walk in heels better than she) also, I was photographing a wedding a few weeks ago and managed to snap a few "spy" shots This girl in the short blue dress was sexy as hell! And never took the heels off. Enjoy....

No experience with them. However, the site looks to be rather new and stocked with off the shelf, chinese made items that are available on ebay and a lot of other website shoe stores. Common merchandise readily available cheap shoes sold to satisfy the fetish/CD market. (my opinion)
...and what a large market it is! oh... and that does seem like a decent price on those boots, but the shipping is a little high.
not trying to spam or anything, just a cheap plug... but you get them a little cheaper though my store using discount code "devab10" Not sure what size you need, but some of the larger sizes may be sold out.
nice boots, btw. I've heard good things about dimoutshoes, but no personal experience.

Looks interesting, although in my experience with Pleaser brand, I usually have to order one size higher than I normally do, but that might just be those of us with wider feet. Looks nice though.
This is true with most closed toe styles in the Pleaser line. From my experience this is especially true with the Seduce and Domina styles when comparing to other brands offering similar styles. So most people are good with going one size larger, and since 1/2 sizes are not available, add a rubber heel pad, and a cushioned insole for the ball of your foot to add comfort and make up for the larger size (if needed).

Yes, that is me in the avatar pic. Haven't really done too many focused on only the heels, but I may soon. I've got a few new pair that need some camera time

I use the Bestine cement for making/repairing latex clothing, and you should be able to find it at most hobby/craft stores. I'm not sure i've seen Barge available in any national chains, but you'll find plenty of sources with a simple google search. It may be very similar to the commonly available "Shoe Goo".
