  1.  I'm not interested in other fm clothing at all, just some of their footwear.  In particular it seems I only really like certain boots and clogs.  I'm not especially attracted to pumps, sandals, or any other type of shoes at least for me.  I've had the attraction since childhood.

  2. I would stick to heels under 4" for the sake of safety.  Rugged boots preferably and comfortable/solid to walk in.  Just my suggestion, something similar to the first two pictures would my personal choice

I definitely would NOT wear something similar to the 3rd picture, even if it would seem fun to some of the folks around here, it would be dangerous as hell. :)

Those first two pictures are the type of heels I have, I don't have any of the "skinny" variety. Some are even chunkier than that.  I still would like to try the 5" Frye harness boots at least once, on a quiet Sunday afternoon.

  3. I rode a motorcycle for years, then sold it three years ago.  I just bought a new one and this time the bike is pretty far off the ground.  I rode it last weekend wearing two different pairs of boots, both around 3" heel height.  I was at my other home in neighboring state so didn't have my whole collection there.  I'll be bringing the bike here right after Christmas.  The heels on both those boots I tried are block style (all my heels are stacked or block style).  Anyway, since I also have some 4" and even a pair of 5" block heel boots I am curious if anyone else has tried riding a motorcycle in heels and if so how high?  4" is the highest I did with the old bike but it had forward controls, the new one has normal mid controls.

  4. I have one pair of Frye's and one pair of Steve Madden that squeak.  They are in the bottoms somewhere.  I think they must be using poor adhesives or not enough.  Still they charge enough for these products (especially Frye) to have quality problems.

  5. There's a Macy's in Phoenix that's pretty good about it.  The store at Biltmore seems more than pleased to sell to me.  They also seem to keep a good selection in 11.  Other stores not so much and even some rudeness when asked for 11.  Two weeks ago a lady at their flagship store in NYC told me a certain style was not made in 11, even though I had bought them a month ago in black and was looking at the brown version.  The sole label on the floor sample even shows the sizes they stock.  I don't really know for sure but I think there are more 11 customers on the east coast and they sell out fast.

  6. I had one of those "Business Select" tickets which allows one to keep their shoes on through the airport security at some airports, including LGA where I was flying out of Saturday.  I had on a pair of Seychelles OTK boots and walked up to the detector only to be directed to remove them.  I was waiting for them to come through the scanner and could see the monitor.  Sure enough there were my boots on the screen with rectangular metal plates in the soles.  Do all boots have that these days?  I noticed other people had to remove their footwear as well.  I had picked these particular boots to wear that day because they have plastic zippers and didn't think they had metal parts.

  7. I have bought two pairs from him.  I only have one pair left.  Even with careful measurements he seems to like making them too big.  I put Ugg inner soles in them and they fit fine now.  Mine are 4" but the heel is thick so nobody will really know unless they get a tape measure out.  I would buy more but getting them the right size seems to be a challenge.  Other ebay users have made similar comments.  In quality though they are quite well made and should last a long time.

  8. I got rid of all my thigh boots about two years ago.  I had a total of seven pairs of them.  I have "replaced" them with OTK boots, which are 21-23 inches high.  I now have six pairs of them and wear them regularly in rotation with my knee boots (generally about 17-18").  The OTK are easy to bend over or sit in, they are more comfortable, fit better, and are just more practical for everyday wear.  I sometimes regret getting rid of the thigh boots but I don't have enough room to keep them in the crowded closet for occasional use.  I  don't really have a lot of space to spare right now for anything not regularly worn.

  9. No more than $250 generally. Several years ago I bought some Jean Gaborit crotch boots (34" shaft, 4" wide heels) on ebay for $350, though I ended up parting with them because they were just way too much boot for me. All my boots now (except one sheepskin pair) are 22" or lower. My perfect height is 22", if I find some and they are not over $250 I will get them. I have bought three pairs for around $200 (2 pairs 21" and 1 pair 22") but usually try to stay in the $120-$180 range by shopping sales. I have several in the 17-19" shaft in that price range. Yesterday I bought some 17" shaft, 4.5" heel wedge boots that were marked way down to $50 (they are actually real leather). I can't stand polyurethane fake leather, my feet don't breath.

  10. I just bought my first wedges. They are some unknown brand that were $350 originally, but I got them for $50. For that price I figure that it's worth the experiment. They fit perfect and I can walk in them. The height is 4.5". They seem to make my feet look small and are a lot different from the block heels I have on everything else.

  11. I wear heels (clogs and boots) frequently but I only wear them under boot cut colored (brown, khaki, black) boot cut jeans Mon-Thurs. On casual Friday I usually wear my OTK Frye Campus Boots with skinny jeans. I have two pairs, one grey and the other a dark maroon color. I get compliments from guys but some ladies seem to not like them it seems. In general this area is very accepting of differences, unlike some places I've lived.

  12. I watched a video on Youtube that showed how to walk in heels. After watching it walking in them became much easier. I don't look so stupid now. I have four 4" and one 5" pairs. The 5" can be challenging at times, especially going up or down steep driveways. All of mine are block heels, I would imagine stilettos are more difficult. I'm not going there, though (no experience with it).

  13. This morning I wore the Miguel Jones 22" brown cowboy boots with the 4" heels. I had kacki skinny jeans tucked in and a maroon turtleneck. Got several compliments on them. This is their debut wearing outside the bedroom. I got the Uggs sheepskin insoles trimmed and installed in them. That makes all the difference in the world. I could stand and walk all day with those insoles. Finally getting cooler now, though it got hot later in the day. I changed into the 19" Steve Madden boots for my outing later.

  14. I agree. What's the brand? Anybody know where to get them in the US? Do they come in US Women's 12M?

    Steve

These boots are from Hunter, maker of the world famous "wellies". I have a pair of their regular wellies in womens' 10. Those boots are available in men's sizes as well but they would likely be too big on me. I got them on ebay for less than half price and since they fit perfectly I'm not complaining. Those run big, but with these heels I can't really say how big they will be. I wear 9.5 mens size athletic shoes and usually can wear womens' 11 boots/clogs. You might give the 10's a try, if they are in fact larger like their other boots.

  15. I've worn 4" brown clogs, 4" black clogs, and 5" Frye harness suede boots under boot cut jeans. Though not strictly heels I have worn 21" Frye Campus boots (both grey pair and maroon pair) with skinny jeans tucked in. I've gotten a few compliments as well.
