  1. I admit this is an experiment.  Never done anything like this and may not again.  I saw them in the store and thought about trying the look.  They were twice the price there.  If it doesn't work out then out they go.  I tried another fashion item for the first time, culottes.  They didn't work for me so they are going to the thrift store.  If we never try something then we will never really know.

  2. I just ordered these from Dillards, on sale for $58.80 with sizes up to 11.  Color:Natural/Ash - Image 1 - Meliney Animal Print Lace-Up Wedge Sneakers

I saw them in the store this morning and they were still $99 there.  I bought my wife some shoes then left.  I checked on line this afternoon and found they were marked down.  Heel is 4.65" and the style is called "Meliney".

  3. I guess it finally happened.  I live in a neighborhood with two streets with similar names.  The post office delivered my Poshmark purchase to another street, probably same house number.  Poshmark assumes I'm lying so they went ahead and marked it delivered and paid the seller.  I filed a case with the local post office but I have no idea if when they scan deliveries they are stamped with GPS data or not.  If not then they will just assume I'm lying as well.  I'm glad it was only $22 total, but it still hurts.  I was outside watering at the time they said they delivered, no mail truck or delivery person seen at that time.  I once came home for lunch to find a new exercise machine (boxed) in my driveway.  The tag had the same house number but the similar sounding street.  I loaded it on my pickup truck and drove it over to the house it belonged to.  It's too bad somebody else didn't repay the favor though with a small package with jeans.  Now I wonder if the post office does determine they messed up if they will refund the seller.  I bet she just pockets the money and I will never hear about it.

  4. I now have driven the car in each of three pairs of Jessica Simpson platform clogs, plus a pair of Zara platform booties all six inch heels.  Now I will NOT do so on my motorcycle.  I did try five inch once and it was not fun or easy to shift up in gear.  Four inch heels no such problems and did it all the time.

Will be interested in hearing your opinion on MJ boots.  It has been quite a few years since I bought my last pair, but they were at least one size too big.  I should have gotten 3-4" heels instead of the 5" heels, which aren't much good for walking...  Yours look great, hope to see more close up pics...  They were priced pretty reasonably when I bought them, and the leather/quality seemed good also....

Ah come on now, no such thing as too many great cowboy boots....

I bought two pairs from him with the exact same problem, way too big.  The second pair I put UGG insoles in and that helped but still needed very thick socks.  They were wonderful otherwise, sorry to have to let them go but not enough room in the closet with dozens of pairs that did fit.

  6. The lady supervisor of circuit board assembly wears very high heels often (usually over 4").  The other day I heard the sound in the hall (yes I had to peek) and she had platform heels over 5", maybe 5.5".  The HR manager also wears high heels, though not as high as this lady does.  This company does not allow athletic shoes in office portion except on Friday.

  7. I revisited Dallas Northpark Mall Sunday afternoon Nov 1.  Things have improved some but Macy's still has little selection compared to what's on their website.  Nordstrom has some boots but not up to previous years.  Aldo store has a scant few boots, looks like what you'd see in about April.  Went into Sam Edelman store, the lady there admired the ones I had on, said she wished they had that type of style but didn't get anything like them "Indigo".  Customers have been asking for them.  They had a few knee and ankle boots but nothing like last year.  Only Dillards has a great selection and they had even more styles in stock than last time.  Across the freeway Nordstrom Rack still has aisles of empty shoe shelves, Bloomingdales has what's left from June (one pair of ankle boots for $200), and Saks off Fifth has nearly nothing new.  What they did have is not priced to sell.

  8. Interesting thing happened Saturday.  Usually I donate items to thrift stores but this time I went with a group distributing clothing to a poor apartment complex in South Dallas.  The ladies there went crazy over the heeled boots but some very nice riding boots with low heels didn't get any interest and couldn't be given away.

I just checked Jessica Simpson site and I saw the first new knee high boot in months.  Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately for some), you don't see the bottom half in ZOOM meeting. I know many are in slippers while I have stilettos on. So I don't expect a large collection this year.

Dillards had several Jessica Simpson ankle boots with very high platform heels.  They also had several platform clogs with about 5" heels.  There were some over knee boots in leopard print.   More animal prints this season all through the shoe department.

  10. I just came from Northpark Mall in Dallas.  The current selection of fall styles in all the stores there is for the most part dismal at best.  They have not received the bulk of their merchandise.  One manager told me that corporate office has it stashed in their warehouses and won't release it until the "covid issue" is resolved.  Macy's has a small few styles out, most of their shoe department looks like it did in July, but with a lot of empty displays.  Nordstrom has a few but not much either.  Aldo had a few as did Steve Madden.  Madden didn't let me in because they only allow five in the store at a time, I could look in the glass and see most of the shelves.  Across the 75 freeway the outlet stores are even worse.  Nordstrom Rack has many empty shelves.  Appears like they are going out of business.  Saks off Fifth has a few new boots but mostly sandals.  Bloomingdales has nothing new since June.  DSW had the massive selection of two knee high boots and a few booties.  Those were already there in July.  The one bright exception was Dillards.  They have a shoe department full of new fall shoes and boots in just about every style one could want.  They have some beautiful styles and they have them in stock in back to try on and buy.  I was told the Northpark store is #1 in the chain for shoe sales and has the full selection.

Now I do know that some of these retailers do offer more styles on their websites, but they are located in their warehouses so they are willing to ship from there.  They just don't want them going out to the stores.  This does present a problem with people wanting to look at the real thing and try them on of course.  How are the stores in your area of the world right now?  Texas is open with mandatory masks but we can go out and shop to our heart's content (if we can find merchandise).

  11. I just bought a pair of Vince Camuto booties in size 10 (Fall 2019 left overs at Dillard's Clearance Center in Lewisville).  Usually that brand runs somewhat small and I used to get 11 most of the time.  This time though I found the 10's running more like the old 11's, quite roomy but not too loose.  Has anyone else noticed this or is it just limited to some styles?  These were snakeskin booties with 4.75" block heels.  Did the change come in 2019 or the year prior?  I bought some riding boots two years prior in 10 and had to stretch them.

  12. I never had any trouble either, until now.  6pm still shows my order as "processing" and blames the coronavirus .  I just got a computer from Ohio, another item I ordered yesterday shipped from Ohio and is scheduled to arrive Friday.  6pm is part of Zappos and both have always been extremely fast before, often overnight even when getting economy/free shipping.

  13. I have had three bad experiences with buying boots online.  The first time was ebay, I won an auction for Zara OTK boots, the seller never contacted me nor did I get any notification of shipping.  I paid within five minutes of auction close.  Then I got a message from her five days later saying she was out of town with a sick relative.  I replied OK, I could wait until she got back.  Then in a few days she wrote and said she was cancelling the auction because she didn't know when she would get home.  Again I replied that I could wait a while more, not a problem.  She then cancels with ebay sending me a notice that the "buyer asked to cancel".  She then re-lists the boots for $30 more than I bought them for.  That pair has been on ebay for a year, with her dropping the price every few months.  I was very nice and understanding with this seller but in the end she wasn't happy with the sale price so re-lists them for a higher starting bid.  There were no other bids.

The second incident took place over on Poshmark.  I did a paypal purchase for the asking price on some very nice Aldo boots.  Again I heard nothing for a time, then the seller came back and sent a message that she was cancelling the sale because she was out of town.  She then said she would be back in a few days and would sell me the boots for a discount.  That was over a week ago and nothing.  The boots are still showing up as "SOLD" on poshmark's site.  I'm expecting them to be re-listed for $30 more like the other ones.

Third incident was a pair of beautiful Marc Fisher OTK boots from 6PM.com.  They were bought over a week ago and still show as "processing".  Their site says they are slow due to the coronavirus but over a week and still not shipped?  I am beginning to think they will never get shipped, or maybe they don't even have them but are keeping my money.

This seems to be confined with footwear so far, I've bought several electronic items and got them right away, even one company in New York sent me my item economy free shipping and I got them in three days from placing the order.

  14. One of the few places we are allowed to go out to is the grocery store.  So this morning we set out to Trader Joe's only to find the line outside was 50 people long.  They at least will allow the two of us inside.  It must be Easter as it's been a lot shorter.  The related store Aldi on the other hand only allows one shopper inside, so I got to sit in the car for half an hour.  At least the line was only two people.  I had on my Freebird boots for nobody to see.  We can go get take out food though so I wore them this evening to a local family owned restaurant we frequent.  We went inside to pick up the order.  This shelter in place is getting pretty old fast.  I'd totally lose my mind if not for ham radio for somebody else to talk to.   I did ride the BMW to the office supply (they are considered essential business) and bought their last headset so I don't have to use a cell phone for meetings.  I haven't been on the bike in some time as it has been raining a lot here since January.

Isn’t it amazing how adults can be so childish?  On the school playground boys loved jeering things to each other like “you throw the ball like a girl”.  How is that any different from the jeer, “you wear shoes like a girl”.  You don’t even have to wear heels to get this - I get those comments just by tucking my pants into my boots.  “Only women wear boots that way,” as if that is some sort of insult.  What are these guys saying about women, is their fashion so horrible that men can’t learn or adapt anything from them?

Lately I have noticed a lot of young Hispanic males wearing their jeans tucked into western boots around Oak Cliff.  I'm even seeing construction guys doing it and we all know how bad they can tease/harass each other.  It's just coming around again.  In old times it was not uncommon but the practice ended after WWII, briefly seen in the 70's, but not really seen until today.  Skinny jeans are so common now and work great for this look since they don't bunch up above the boot tops.

What brand are they? They look wonderful

There is no labeling on them whatsoever.  I think they were ordered by somebody off of Aliexpress.  They were listed as size 10 by the seller.  It was a risk but at $16 worth taking but they fit like a glove.

  17. Yeah, all dressed up and no place to go now.  All restaurants, bars, clubs, gyms, churches, etc. are now closed (except take out) in Dallas.  Last night we went out to eat for the last time, El Tizancito for tacos and horchata (one of few places that give free refills) and last margarita for my wife.  I wore my new Timberland knee highs with the 4 inch block heels, skinny jeans, and a leather jacket.  The place was empty except one who was just leaving.  Supermarket in the same strip mall was overrun with shoppers though.

Those are awesome!   My gf has some Lucky’s but the just don’t seem to come in size 11 for me.

You might give 10 a try in the store as I have another pair of Luckys that are 10 and they fit without stretching.  Sometimes Macy's has 11 when nobody else does, even the manufacturer's website doesn't list them.
