  1. Tried on my first pair of ballet heels today, unfortuately I couldn't get them zipped up & it was the only pair that alternative footwear had in stock  Going to get them to order some in a few weeks, which means another trip up to AF which is always fun

  2. If they are your true friends, they won't mind. I opened up to my best friend and he went as far as to look up passionforfootwear for me and it changed my whole life. Not easy to find a friend like that.

True, my only worry is that they may not react well & the one friend I'm considering telling has been one of my best friends since my first year at university, we've been through a lot together (both got partners at about the same time & both been through difficult break ups after long relationships)

I'm really not sure I want to risk lossing such a good friend (I know if they truly are a good friend they will not care but at the moment I'm not sure I want to risk it)

  3. Congrats on your first pair...probably not your last. yes, the comfort is a key. Hope to see you in your Boots at World Heelmeet Feb 16, 2008 in London. see "real life Meetings" and the World Heelmeet thread,

    david & cathy

I'm thinking about coming along, will have to decide soon

  4. Had my first visit to the shop today, what a great place. Friendly service & a great selection of shoes. Definately worth the 150mile drive. Actually it's a good thing it's so far away otherwise I'd be broke

  5. Welcome 2 the family !! Read all the favourable comments people have had on this site, be confident and njoy!!

    Thanks

    Wow! Excellent.

Was good, not sure I'm confident enough to do it in daylight, but it was still a great feeling

  6. It seems like with most people here, i tend to buy off the net. Most of mine come from ebay or from america. i can usually get the shoes including postage cheaper from the US than here in england just for the shoes. However i have bought many pairs that are just too tight. i buy a US 11 because i have a pair of boots in a 12 and my feet move about in them but an 11 is too small.

I have promised myself to try some on in store this year and i get so excited and nervous that all i do is pick up the shoe, see if they are high enough and then when approached by a salesperson i just put the shoe down and walk away. This will change this year.

Go for it, you'll enjoy it & in my experience the sales people are very helpful.

Only problem - the credit card bill when you keep going back to buy more shoes

  7. Wow, can men really wear heels in public in England. I wish i had the bottle to do that. i only wear mine when i work at home a cuple of times a month and during the winter when the evenings are dark, i can leave work earlier and stop off somewhere that i think no-one will be and go for a short walk.

Was it a shopping centre where you went?

yes men can wear heels in england and yes it was a shopping centre.

i've warn clearly visable heels in public and no one seems to notice give it a try you maybe suprised that you donot get chased down the street by an angry mob

  8. Congratulations, it's a great feeling getting out in heels. It's suprising how different it is walking out on the sreets compared to at home, I can happiy spend all day at home in 4inch heels, but a few hours out on the streets and my feet are burning.

  9. Let me get this straight. You go into a shop and look the shopassistant in the eyes and say you want to try some heels. Buy 3 pairs. And you think wearing them would be embarrassing ? Too me it's much more nervewracking to buy the shoes than wear them. First time I tried womens shoes in the store was with Kneehighs in London. I never did it alone. Yet I've worn heels in public plenty of times now. Including right here in my own neighbourhood.

Trust me. You can do this. It's no big deal.

Very true, I've been wearing heels out ocassionally for years & very regularly for about the last 9 months. It's much harder to walk into a shop & try shoes on than it is to wear them out on the street. Give it a try, you'd be suprised how easy it is & in my trips out I've only seen one or two people even notice I'm wearing heels, I've even worn the one's in my avatar round some busy shops & nobody seemed to notice.
