  1. Hi

I managed to break one of my stiletto heels today. The other heel is showing signs of wear as well. And these are expensive Italian stiletto boots (bought them at Silhouette)! It's absurd that the heel would break after only to outings. I only weigh about 130 pounds!:wavey:

    Here's what the damage looks like. (1, 2, 3, 4)

My question to you members of the forum is: What do I do?

Do shoe repair shops have a stock of replaceable heels? Would they be able to remove the existing heels and find similar ones that are built tougher? How much could it cost to replace heels?

Are there metal heels that are covered with some form of coating? I'm not a big fan of metal heels but apparently I need tough enduring ones.

  2. Thanks guys. I appreciate the comments.

Today was my final street heeling day for a couple of weeks since I have to leave town for work.

Although I initially wanted to wear my 4 inch black leather Silhouette knee high stiletto pointed toe boots for dressy occasions only, I couldn’t help myself and decided to wear them with casual attire.

I wore a black long sleeve v-neck shirt, my wide black leather belt from Sears, my dark blue Levis jeans and my boots of course. (1,2,3)

I also took my small digital camera and managed to shoot some video of myself walking in heels outside. That was fun! (files are too large to upload, sorry) I left the house at around 14:30.

I wanted to pick up a few books before I left town so I headed to the Chapters bookstore. I spent 20 minutes there and found 2 of the 3 books I wanted. I got no comments or didn’t notice any glimpses from the customers or staff. One of the young male staff members who helped me didn’t say a word about my heels.

I then tried my luck at another bookstore but couldn’t find the book I've wanted either. Just like in Chapters, nobody noticed my heels although this bookstore had a concrete floor and my heels were clicking away.

My final stop for the day was at my local Superstore. I spent almost an hour there. There weren't too many people but then again, we're talking about a huge supermarket.

I managed to get the final product I was looking for and made my way down one of the aisles towards the row of cashiers when suddenly, my facial expression froze!

I had the look of a person who realized that something BAD happened. I knew exactly what happened but didn’t want to believe it. My HEEL BROKE!!!!!!!!!! ;)

    (1, 2,)

I felt the build up of panic in me as I started looking around if anyone noticed what had happened. I looked at my heel and apparently, it did not break off completely but was still supported by a thin piece of metal in it (1). Nevertheless, I could not put full pressure on it anymore, if at all.

I had a basket full of products and was seriously considering dumping it somewhere. I even thought of removing my boots and walking in my socks. All of these thoughts occurred during a 5 second panic period.

I got my act together, took a deep breath and put on my best poker face. I also put the heel back in place.

Needless to say that my elegant walk was gone. I put most of the pressure on my left intact heel and it looked like I was limping to the cashier checkout. The lineup didn’t help my mood. However, I didn’t notice anyone specifically eye balling me. My biggest concern was walking from the cashier with my bags all the way to my car, a good 100 meters. I limped away slowly feeling ridiculous but managed to get safely to my car and let out a huge sigh of relief.

Once I was in the safety of my car I became SOOOOO pissed off. These boots weren’t some cheap ass knock off made in China. These were expensive Italian boots!

The leather is so soft and nice to the touch and the boots are very comfortable to walk in. But the heels? Pieces of  !!!!I weigh around 130 pounds, not 200! I also didn’t put extra pressure on my heels by balancing myself on them at an angle. Oh and I wore them "SOOOO" many times outside...TWICE!!:wavey:

So now I'm stuck with my fav pair of boots with one broken heel and the other is showing signs of buckling as well (1).

Well, it could of ended worse, with the heel breaking completely off. Now THAT would've been embarrassing!

Anyway, I'll have to wait until I'm back in town to repair my boots. One thing is for sure, once they are an have upgraded stilettos, I'm wearing them immediately.

  3. So, regarding my Saturday experience…

Originally, I was planning on staying at home and cooking myself dinner. However, I was kind of lazy so I preferred to go to a restaurant.
I was still feeling really good about my Thursday excursion in heels and had no doubt I'd wear heels again. But something in me told me that wearing the same black leather Via Spiga knee high boots (1) I wore up until then for street heeling just won’t cut it this time.

My 4.5 inch coniac leather Charles David (me wearing them - 1, 2, 3, website)knee high pointed toe boots with an indent heel were a possibility but I find the heel is still too high for me to walk comfortably outside.

Wearing my 4.5 inch chocolate leather Silhouette over the knee stiletto pointed boots
(1, 2, 3, 4)was also not an option because the heel is too high as well and they look good only when fully exposed, something I'm not willing to do at this time.

So, I was left with my 4 inch black leather Silhouette knee high stiletto pointed toe boots
(1, 2), boots that I was dreaming of wearing outside, boots that I didn't have the guts to wear, that is, until last Saturday. My Thursday outing removed the mental block.

Before wearing them on Saturday, I did practice quite a bit walking in them.

My chosen outfit for the evening, apart from the boots of course, was a Zara dark red buttoned shirt, Zara black pin stripe tailored pants, Calvin Klein black belt and a Ralph Lauren light black trench coat. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7)

I regard wearing pointed toe stiletto boots as the ultimate heeling experience but also an extremely feminine look I was sure would attract attention. When you hear the noise these heels make they are a dead giveaway. If I were to hear their noise, I'd be immediately scanning the vicinity for some hot chick in beautiful stilettos :-) Regardless, they are my favorite style of heels and these boots are my favs as well.

I decided to go have dinner at a trendy Italian restaurant. Being Saturday evening I was expecting the restaurant to be packed.
Since this constituted a big step forward in heeling, I was pretty nervous before exiting the car. It may have been evening, but at 19:00 in Edmonton right now there is still plenty of light.
Once out of the car and on the short walk to the restaurant entrance, I was greeted by one of the most pleasant sounds I've ever heard, the sound of my stiletto heels on the road and sidewalk.
Surprisingly, the restaurant was mostly empty. The restaurants' floor was basically a carpet so the noise my heels made was completely muted. I was given a nice table and had a good dinner. The few people in the restaurant, including the staff and my waitress (unfortunately she wasn't dressed as well as the waitress I had on Thursday and was dressed for comfort, pants and flats) did not say a word about my heels, nor it seemed that they even noticed them.

To be honest, I was relieved, yet a bit disappointed that after all the fuss in my head about wearing stilettos, fuss that had kept me from wearing them outside for YEARS, when the day finally came, no one gave a s***!
I tried to "overcome" my disappointment by going to the washroom just to hear the sound of my heels on the marble floor. It helped and put a smile on my face, that is, the thought of me wearing these awesome stiletto boots outside of home, in a public place.

Once I left the restaurant, I walked about 200 meters to a nearby atm. I passed a few people and a few cars. This time I was sure that people noticed my heels but I did not spot any negative reaction or talk about them.

I realized that it's been less than an hour since I exited my car in stilettos for the first time. Since I regarded these boots as my ultimate dress boots, i.e. I would not wear them for every occasion such as going to the supermarket, I felt like continuing my evening in them.

Where could I go on a Saturday night in them? Since I've already eaten dinner and haven't reached the point of being able to go alone to a bar/club in heels, I thought of another option…the movies!

By chance, I also wanted to go see Oceans 13. I got into my car, fired her up when suddenly it occurred to me, it's Saturday! The multiplex I go watch my movies in will be P A C K E D!!! I'm not talking about a full restaurant; I'm talking about hundreds of people!
"F*** it!" I said, what's the worst that could happen? Ridiculed by scores of people, especially the hordes of teenagers coming to watch the Fantastic 4? Slipping on the marble floor? Confronted by some young punks who would taste the feel of my pointed toe on their testicles or my stiletto heel on their sneakers? I made way to the biggest challenge I've potentially faced yet in my heels.

I was right, the parking lot was completely full (has hundreds of spaces). I searched for a spot for a few minutes and found one about 100 hundred meters from the multiplex entrance.
It's funny how far I came regarding my confidence wearing heels. Less than 3 weeks ago I was having second thoughts of leaving my car in heels in this same parking lot. Back then it was dark and the parking lot was virtually empty compared the how it was now.
This time, I had a full parking lot, with tons of people in and out of their cars making way to the multiplex, broad daylight and probably the busiest evening of the week to go to the multiplex. I took a deep breath and exited my car.

Clicking away towards the entrance, I've noticed people in all ages…young and old couples, parents with their kids and groups of young people, mostly teenagers on route inside as well. I passed quite a few of these groups, including a few intimidating looking ones (teenagers you would consider troublemakers). One of these groups even made nasty comments about a guys appearance (he didn’t seem odd looking at all) who walked a few meters in front of me. They didn’t even wait for him to walk away and I'm sure he heard what they said yet chose to move on without reacting. I was expecting the worst yet I managed to keep cool and broadcast a "business as usual" attitude. My confidence in wearing these heels really helped since my stride was elegant, not clumsy. I passed them with my heels doing "their thing" and got NO reaction and no comments from them.
When I finally made it into the multiplex, a large queue was waiting for me in order to buy tickets. Halfway to the ticket saleswoman, we were notified that tickets have run out for the screening of the film at the time I wanted.
No reaction or glimpse whatsoever to my heels during the wait. I bought tickets to the next screening and had about an hour to kill in the multiplex. I decided to stay there because I had noting better to do.

The surprisingly lack of attention to my heels boost my confidence even more. So, I bought a coffee and sat at a front table overlooking the entrance and the main passage of people going to their respective theatres. I even crossed my legs, and "played" with my heels every now and then by tapping them on the marble floor. My heels were more visible than ever. Yet nobody really reacted to my heels. I caught a few glimpses at me but nothing intimidating or out of the ordinary. Again, it seemed no one cared. This time though, I was hardly disappointed because I felt as though my heels were accepted and made no big deal, even though they were as visible as I could make them while wearing pants.

It sure was a great hour! On a slightly different issue, I also did what I enjoy a lot, people watch. I came yet again to the sad conclusion that the vast majority of people, men (especially) and women, have terrible fashion taste! People have no idea (or simply do not care) how bad they look in the clothes they wear. I've always thought that clothes have a tremendous impact on a person's attractiveness. Take an ugly person yet dress him/her in a style that flatters their body build and they'll look MUCH better.
I see these women, some of them good looking, that do not know how to dress. If there is one thing that I really do envy about women is their ability to choose from a vast array of fashion styles and wear them without any danger of social ridicule (as opposed to us poor men in this forum). There is bound to be a style that will accommodate ANY woman. These women just throw on stuff that don’t match (or think that they do) and ruin their image. Oh well, that's my 2 cents on the matter. I also guess I'm in the minority on this subject (with regard to fashion playing an important part in a persons look) since I've seen lots of couples where the man is dressed like he just came off the toilet seat in the morning and the women is dressed nicely. I want my woman to care (and accept) how I look because I will care how she looks.

Back to the main subject, the movie theatre was completely full and I had 2 people sitting on either side of me. I tapped my heels on the floor every once in a while to remind myself that I'm watching a movie in bloody stilettos heels! (I was so happy each time I though about it). The movie was good and I made way with all the other people towards the exit. I stopped in the washroom once more and was pleased as usual to listen to my heels clicking on the marble floor. I left the multiplex, got in my car and headed home.

My Saturday experience was fantastic! I had no incidents, no comments, very few glimpses, a good meal and movie and most importantly an evening of listening to the sound of my own stilettos in public clicking away. The only negative thing was the fact that my legs are not used to walking that long in stilettos, I need to practice.

On a final note, Yesterday I went street heeling again, this time to my local Safeway supermarket. I was looking for a more casual look to wear my heels with. I wore a gray sweater, dark blue Levis jeans, a wide black leather belt I bought at Sears dept. store and my 4 inch Via Spiga knee high boots which were mostly covered by the jeans. This was the most casual outfit I've worn with heels and the most inconspicuous. Nevertheless, I like the look.(1, 2, 3, 4) Needless to say that nobody noticed my heels or didn't care enough to make an issue out of them.

On a very final note, I decided to quit this whole incognito bs in my photos, might as well see who I am. A word of warning though, if any of you guys/gals show these pictures to my boss(I doubt he's a forum member), I'll hunt you down like dogs! :wavey:

    Happy heeling guys!

  4. Hi everyone

I've been out of town for a couple of weeks and didn't have time to really respond. Worse, I couldn't go street heeling :-(

But now I'm back in the city of champions (Edmonton for all you non Canadians) and as Samuel Jackson said in the XXX films: "Let's take it to the next level".

I've been back 3 days and have spent 2 days street heeling outside.

Since I came back last Thursday, I had a few things to do in town. Naturally, I wanted to wear my heels.

The outfit I chose was a tailored white striped shirt with a black leather vest. I also wore my black slim fit Levis jeans, Calvin Klein belt and last but not least, my black 4 inch knee high Via Spiga boots with a square toe.

As you can see, my heels were in full view this time.

The weather was bad that day with heavy rain. It pissed me off because it started raining just as I left the house and as you can see, I wasn't really dressed for a stormy day.

My first stop was at a leather store since I wanted to buy another leather vest. I had a slight mental block before leaving my car since it's been 2 weeks since my last outing. I overcame it quickly enough and stepped outside into the rain. Fortunately, the store entrance was only a few meters away. Slipping was a concern on the marble floor in the store so I was very careful while walking.

I was greeted by an empty store with only 2 teenage saleswomen. Naturally the stores' security gates started beeping to emphasize my arrival. Turned out I still had the security sticker on the black leather vest I bought previously in the same store.

The marble floor emphasized every click of my heels. The girls made no comment on my heels, not even a glimpse (at least I haven't noticed one). One of them helped me try on a few vests for around 10 minutes, each time sending me to the mirror to check out the look. Unfortunately, they did not have my size for the vest I wanted so I left empty handed.

The pleasant experience in that store gave me a huge confidence boost for the rest of the day.

My second stop was at Chapters,a very large bookstore. The parking lot was quite full so I had to walk quite a distance to the store. I passed lots of cars with people in them. No glimpses or comments. Personally, I love large bookstores. Endless aisles of books, the great smell in the air (you know, the bookstore smell) and a wooden floor combined with a carpet. Walking in heels on a wood floor is almost as fun as a marble floor.

I spent almost an hour there standing. It was great just standing around, walking slowly through the aisles with my heels on. The only place people might have noticed my heels were at the checkout line. I waited around 5 minutes. I didn't catch any glimpses though nor any comments. Another great experience to be repeated again and again in the future.

My third and most important stop of the day was at the Sony store. I was interested in buying a new video camcorder for quite some time. I was practically the only person in the store which had a marble floor giving the distinct heel clicking noise. The two male sales reps made no mention of my heels, nor cared to even peep at my feet. The sales rep helping me, a guy in his mid thirties was very courteous and professional. We spoke for almost 30 minutes. During these 30 minutes I was walking back and forth in the store deciding on the camera and accessories to get and going to the sales reps computer terminal to get some more information on the cameras. Needless to say that my heels made quite a racket :-) It sure paid off for the professional manner I was taken care of since I bought an excellent yet expensive camera to the pleasure of the sales rep. My third stop and third great heeling experience of the day! I was on a roll! By this point I was so comfortable in my heels that I had NO more insecurity issues with them.

I then decided on a fourth and final stop for the day, a restaurant. This stop was unplanned yet turned out to be my best heeling experience I ever had until that point.

I decided to go eat at a trendy Fusion/Asian restaurant. It was already 19:00 and the restaurant was packed so I just went to the lounge and seated myself. I sat a table in the center of the lounge surrounded by tables packed with people yet the distance between tables enabled people to easily see what I was wearing. It was one of those tall round tables with bar stools. Sitting on the bar stool, my heels were more exposed than ever. It was actually lots of fun sitting on a bar stool with heels since it was easy to secure my leg to the stool with them. Dangling my legs was also fun.

Like I said, by this point of the day I was totally confident about my outfit and heels, so confident that I purposely made sure my heels were visible by dangling my feet and crossing them. While I waited for the food I finally caught a few blank expression glimpses of my heels but no comments. People were more interested in their conversations and food than the boots I wore.

The real treat of this restaurant are the waitresses. Most were wearing black tops of various kinds, black miniskirts/short dresses and high heels. A minority wore flats and black pants. I was very fortunate to get the most gorgeous waitress. She looked as though she worked out 7 days a week, about 5'7, Brunette with long hair and green eyes. She wore a black short dress and had beautiful smooth tanned legs that stretched for miles (she didn't wear any hose/stockings)!

The best part was that she had, imho, the finest/hottest pair of 4/4.5 inch black pointed toe stiletto pumps I've ever seen. She was also very nice and courteous. She definitely saw my heels but didn’t say anything about them.

I can't tell you what a rush it was to be wearing my heels and have all these gorgeous women in gorgeous heels around, especially my waitress. PRRRRRR

After paying for the bill, I couldn't help myself and complemented my waitress about her fashion sense and high heels. I also asked her where did she buy them and who made them. She was great and told me exactly what I wanted to know. I ended the conversation by telling her that "I gotta get a pair of those for myself". She laughed and said that they are great and that I'd look good in them.

It turned out that she wore a pair of top quality leather 4 inch black pointed toe stiletto pumps made by Stuart Weitzman, rightfully named "Fever". I found them on Zappos Canada (thank god they started to deliver north of the US border) and although my finger trembled a bit before I confirmed the transaction (HIGH QUALITY and EXPENSIVE), I bought them. Now all I have to do is wait. Here they are:

    http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x81/RedMaximilian/stuartweitzmanfever9.jpg

After more than 3 hours in heels outside, I decided to call it a day. Boy what a day it was! It worked wonders on my confidence to wear heels in public. I virtually have no more problems wearing my Via Spiga bootsoutside although I still need to slowly build up my time in them and improve my heeling endurance. My feet WERE tired at the end of the day.

Well, now I'm tired and need to hit the sack. I'll post my experiences I had this Saturday in heels later on. I felt that they were even better than Thursday.

Street heeling DOES get easier! Woohoooo!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Congrats DDWW on making the first and hardest step. As a new street heeler myself, I completely identify with the feelings you had the first time out. I thought that every click of my heels activated the super hearing of EVERYONE around me and that they focused on finding the origin of the sound. As you go out more, you find out that no one gives a rats a** about it. Even if they did, 99.9 percent of people won't dare criticize a complete stranger outside. They might think you have "issues" and no one wants to mess with a guy with issues. It could be dangerous for them :-) The bottom line is, no one will say anything to your face because people in general do not look for trouble.

  6. "future GF" :-)

None at the moment. Whoever she'll be, she'll have to be able to live with the idea that her BF likes heels as a fashion accessory. Oh, and she'll have to LOVE wearing heels too. What's the point of having a GF who doesn’t like wearing HH lol

  7. HeelD - You have my permission to post the pics. Anything that will help spread the word.

johnieheel - I also think it looks natural. Before going out for the first time I tried the heels with the various outfits I have. After getting used to wearing heels at home it just seemed so natural for me to wear specific heels with some of my outfits.

At the end of the day they are just shoes/boots with heels a bit higher than the other shoes I have which are considered "masculine".

I even think that wearing my pointed toe 2 inch mens black cowboy boots look more feminine than these and I never had a second thought to wearing them (I actually get tons of complements about them, from men and women).

In Alberta, where many men wear cowboy boots, the noise they make might sound similar to high heels (some of my cowboy boots do). If you wear the heels with a natural looking outfit, then by the time people notice the heels, you've already passed by!

Anyway, now that I've started wearing some of my high heels outside, they'll just become another boot/shoe I need to choose from before going out. It doesn't mean that I'll stop wearing my "masculine" shoes, just that my options have increased.

Great...more time deciding what to wear out. :-) That's probably my most "feminine" quality, the urge to buy more clothes, more shoes/boots, more shopping shopping shopping...ahhhhhhh
At least my future GF/wife won't complain to me that I don't like to shop with her.

  8. Dreyden - You need not worry, the second…..pufff
    Bond - Yes…..considerably.

While yesterday was my first time out in heels, I felt I'm on a roll. So, Today I decided that I'll wear my Via Spiga heels again while going shopping at the local IGA and Superstore supermarkets.

This time it would be in broad daylight. I also decided to wear my brown corduroy jeans, black shirt and my brown leather G1 USN patch jacket. I think the outfit goes very well with the boots. The only catch was that my boots would be very easy to spot with the brown jeans and the heel being visible. No guts no glory.

I must say that my anxiety level was probably half of what it was yesterday, even though it was around 18:00, broad daylight and many customers. I must have been shopping for almost an hour. My confidence level grew by the minute since I got no remarks, barely a few glances that I've noticed. In the end, I really didn’t care. I actually started to walk slowly, emphasizing the heel noise on the marble floor. The only concern was with the wet floor :-)

To be honest I did get 2 remarks. One came from a guy in his 20's with his GF/wife/sister/friend and the other from one of the cashiers. The remarks weren't about my heels but about my leather jacket. I got quite used to getting remarks about it. Actually, every time I wore it outside, someone told me how cool it was. Needless to say that I agree with them completely :-) I love that jacket and I think the heels just add to the cool fashion look. Outside, The aviator sunglasses don't do any harm as well.

One thing I did find out today was that walking in high heels for over an hour outside without being used to it is tough! It was hard walking straight in the end!
I guess I'll get used to it. However, I doubt I'll be going out in my higher heeled Charles David boots anytime soon since the lower Via Spigas were challenging enough. I need to practice.

I've attached links of myself in the outfits I wore. The ones with the brown jeans is what I wore today. The ones in the tailored black pin stripe pants is what I wore yesterday to the movie.

Thanks for all the comments up until now. I really appreciate it. Keep them coming.

Thighbootguy – I actually think these boots look better under the pants. With regard to my other black knee high stiletto pointed toe boots, they do look best with a skirt  It will be a while until I have the guts to wear those outside but the day may well come. You , imho, are the ultimate role model for us guys wearing heels outside and are at the top of the courage bar. Chapeaux!

  9. That's what I call a weird guy high heeler. We normal guys wearing heels are executive guy high heelers (stole the line and changed it a bit from Eddie Izzard)! I'd also laugh my ass off if I'd see that. He also had terrible taste, white heels and a dark business suit, peh!

It is though just a prank intended to look ridiculous and it is. You can make ANYTHING normal look ridiculous. You could go to the restaurant and once you receive your food, just stick your head in the plate and suck it like a pig. I guarantee people will make the same faces they made while watching that guy try on his heels. Then again, you probably go to the restaurant and eat like a normal human being and receive no attention whatsoever.

It's all a matter of how you present yourself. If people see you are completely natural and comfortable while asking tot try a pair of heels in the store , people would hardly notice or give a "$%#@"

  10. Hi

Today was a historic day for me. I found the courage to go out in heels for the first time.

It was the spur of the moment thing, although I was gathering the courage to go out for quite some time. I wanted to go see Shrek 3 in my local multiplex and suddenly I thought what a better place to go heeling for the first time, a dark movie theatre.

I had to decide what pair of heels to wear. The options were either my Coniac Charles David knee high pointed toe boots with an indent heel or my newer Black Via Spiga square toe knee high boots with blade heels.

I thought that the Charles David boots would attract less attention because of the heel sound and shape (they make a heavier noise and could probably pass as higher heeled cowboy boots). The Via Spigas may have a square toe but the heel shape and noise are an immediate giveaway that I'm wearing heels. My pants won't have completely covered either of the heels.

In the end I convinced myself "no guts no glory" and since I preferred the look of the Via Spigas with a nice pair of pin striped black tailored pants, I chose them.

The via Spigas have a 4 inch heel and I'm quite comfortable walking in them, especially after getting used to walking in 4 inch stilettos. Nevertheless, not only was it my first time ever out of the house in a pair of heels on, it was also the first time driving in them.

It was actually very comfortable driving in them and I was so pleased! When I finally got to the multiplex parking lot I started getting cold feet because there were lots of cars there. I was pissed and surprised because it's bloody 22:30 on a Monday night. What are people doing there at this hour?!

Anyway, I took a deep breath and exited the car. It was just my luck that a bunch of people exited the multiplex and headed to their cars just when I was heading in. Every heel step sounded like an atomic bomb going off in my head. None of the people even bothered to look though.

What made matters worse for me was that just before I went in, this lady appeared from nowhere and asked for some spare change! I gave her a 5 and went in.

Nobody was in line to buy tickets so that went smoothly.

I was more relaxed after buying the tickets. I can't tell you how pleasing it was to walk inside the multiplex on a marble floor and hearing the noise of my heels. I could barely hide my smile when disaster almost occurred, I slipped! Luckily I gained my balance immediately and didn’t fall. I didn’t hear any giggles though (only in my head).

The theatre was barely full, only a few young couples and a group of teenagers (oh oh). Once in my seat though, I was all smiling and happy with my decision to wear heels. The movie was ok but not as good as the first 2. Who cares, I was much more satisfied with my personal accomplishment.

At the end of the movie I was the last to leave (didn’t want any stupid teenager remark). Since the multiplex is located in an outlet area, I decided to take a walk. It was half past midnight and no one was around, just me and the noise of my heels. Boy was that fun!

I'll always remember this night and I hope that it is a beginning of a long tradition of street heeling on my part. I just hope it will become easier over time until the day I'll find it completely natural and weird that people actually make any remark regarding my heels.

Good luck to all you guys out there who are longing for the courage to go out. I hope my first experience will bring you one step closer out the door. You can't compare it to wearing heels at home, it's much better!

  11. Thanks for the output guys.

I regard high heel shoes/boots no differently then my other non heel shoes/boots. They are supposed to contribute/add/blend to the overall outfit. After all, they are an accessory.

They are not supposed to stand out from the outfit. If they do, then you're doing something wrong. Personally, I would never wear a pair of shiny red patent 6 inch stiletto thigh boots because no matter what outfit I'd wear, they would stand out and make me look "cheap". I like the more classy look and the high heels I have are very good quality. You could say I like the business/more conservative look.

I also think my body build helps me pull off the look I'm looking for (I'm 5'5 and have an athletic build). In all honesty, I think that if I'd wear a pair of block heels or a more square shaped heel, nobody would notice it in public. They'd notice if I'd wear my skirt with them though ;) Too bad I also prefer stilettos lol.

  12. Here are a few photos of me wearing my black 4 inch (9 cm) knee length Stiletto boots from Silhouette.

The leather is soooo soft and comfortable. I love these boots! As you can see, I like wearing them with skirts. You can't go wrong with that skirt+knee high boot combo look.

  13. Hi everyone

A while back I found this site and posted a few times. Then I kinda forgot about it.

Now I'm back. Although I don't post much, I do enjoy reading the posts and it's always nice to learn/remember that I'm not the only straight guy who enjoys wearing heels for fashion purposes.

I've been wearing heels indoors for a few years already. By now I feel very natural in them and I honestly don't understand why society would make a fuss about men wearing shoes considered feminine these days.

I'm also fond of wearing skirts. I just love the look of a skirt with a pair of knee high boots.

I haven't yet made the leap of faith and worn them in public but I'm getting there. There are times when I tell myself that I don't give a **** about what people think but then I stop myself from going out. I guess some part of me is uncomfortable with people staring at me even though they wouldn't dare coming up to me and remark about my heels.

Damn those Victorians for making men in heels and skirts unfashionable society wise ! :-)

    Cheers
