  1. Thanks for the update. I'm reassured at your giving and receiving of compliments in terms of heels. Can't wait for a positive comment directed my way , although I suspect in the UK , it could be a long wait. lol

  2. Thanks for the post and congtraulations! It is easy to feel self conscious in those situations but I think less people pay attention to shoes than we think. However, I have to admit that I haven't overcome the fear of wearing "clacking" shoes in public. I have worn some very high heels out in public but not noisy ones. The noise makes me feel that everyone is staring and I have trouble acting normally.

    Thanks for your post.

The clacking of the heels is what I love as well as everything else that goes with heels. Surprisingly ,as I've found out , very little happens apart from our own internal dialogue about what others might be thinking and the associated fears that constrict our freedom of expression. Recently I've started emphasisng the clack by dragging my heels now and again.

I can relate to acting differently ( not normally ) under duress. I think gait and stride patterns become affected. It's essential to practise not walking like a lumbering man.

So , tempo and stride length reduce , and in terms of elegance I think a certain crossing of the legs is good. Think of a catwalk model and the exaggerated gait/stride. Well , a version of that. Like walking on a line in the road.

There is no substitute for experience , actions speak louder than words etc.

Hope you can heel more and more. Lots of people here are with you all the way.

    Ta:smile:

  3. I went out in public in my heels again tonight. This time I wore my 4 inch slingbacks in stead of my 5.5 inch pumps. it was easier walking in them. I went to cvs and stop and shop. Cvs was a cake walk. Because they had carpets. Stop and shop a little harder due to their floors. but overall much easier. I wanted to stay out in them. but not much was open this late on a sat. And I drove in them also. Got a new lipstick which I'm wearing now.

Awesome. As a relatively new public heeler I love reading heeling stories.

5.5's are tough for a new heeler. I'm down to 3's and 4's.

Going from different surfaces focuses the mind and body right? Posture elegance and decorum. Confidence. I still have doubts and crises of confidence when out but with accounts like yours and many others I just carry on.

Nothing much happens except the feeling of excitement and pleasure at being out in heels.

For me now there is no going back. Out in heels. Freedom of expression = freedom of speech.

    Thanks:smile:

  4. Hey jayjay hope you're okay. Are you sure you want to leave? Just that I noticed you posted your goodbye on the 7th and then posted on another thread on the 8th. Why not stop here awhile and go with the seasonal stuff. Come rain or shine I think we all want heels. Look forward to your next post:smile:

  5. buy a pair of 5in heels and try get used to wearing them.... you will find it tricky and achey and far from easy but then step in your 4's and they will feel like flats

Sensible advice. Along with my training regime to overcome calf pain ( achilles tendonitis ) this is the way to go.

I wear my New Look 5.5" at home but only ever wear 4"-4.5" out.

    Am now pain free:smile:
