  1. Haven't been here for awhile, but the answer to the question that fits me, and possibly many of the others here, is that I consider myself to be a male lesbian. If you google the term, and read the first few answers, including the one by a psychologist, you will find it implies a (possibly) fairly shy individual who may or may not partially crossdress, that is ambivalent towards his gender, who craves the company of women more than men--not just sexually but socially. And who, if he hypothetically were to undergo SRS, he (now a she) would STILL prefer women, sexually and socially. Its not a foreign concept at all. And I didn't even mention Eddie Izzard!

  2. I think there is a genetic component--a weakness in the ligaments perhaps. My mother had severely misshapen feet caused by excessive pointed toe high heel wear (required by her job as a schoolteacher--of course, the MALE teachers were allowed to wear low-heeled shoes, but the women were written up and eventually fired if they did such despicable behavior). I have big and little toe bunions, and 2 hammer toes. Most of my life I wore "sensible shoes", but during my early teens, I wore Beatle Boots and an earlier version called Spanish Boots--that might have something to do with it too, but I think that I had a genetic predisposition to develop foot problems. I was born, apparently, with flat feet, for example, according to a Podiatrist I consulted after laming myself temporarily in ROTC while running in non-running shoes with no arch support.

  3. Got both ears pierced in December. I have wanted to get them pierced ever since 8th grade (~1966), but refrained until now, because the only types of earings that ever appealed to me were girly dangly ones with "french loops", and thin wire hoops. I finally said to myself "What the hell--I'm not getting any younger--and if the people I know don't like it--that's their problem!." I wear blue topaz studs to work, and whatever I feel like when and/or where I darn well please. I don't have a "girl mode", I still don't have any use for dresses or skirts, and I still wear mostly girls' shirts and hip-hugger pants--at work as well.

  4. A detailed examination of male and female size charts will reveal that men's "waist" measurements average about 4" to 6" smaller than their hip measurement. A size 36 "waist" will be sized for a hip of about 41-42". On the other hand, women's waists are assumed to be 8-1/2 to 11" smaller than their hip measurement. With truly hip-hugger jeans, this doesn't represent much of a problem for a guy wanting to wear women's jeans--for the chart in question, just order by your hip measurement and don't worry about the fact that your waist isn't anywhere near as small as the indicated size (assuming, of course, that 525's are, truly, hip-hugger, e.g. made to ride at least 3-1/2" below the waist). High waisted jeans, on the other hand, will require the guy to wear a corset! Using your example, 36/34 men's jeans would be aproximately women's size 31/34. The men's hip measurement of ~41" is almost an exact match for the women's hip measurement of 104 cm. If 525's have any lycra in the denim, you can probably get away with at least one size smaller than that. If you like them to fit like a glove, that is!

  5. If she wants to fade into the background as much as possible, I think she should concentrate on non-descript colors such as beige or loden green, at least from the waist up, and not necessarily loose, but non-stiff fabrics below, e.g. without "drape", e.g. the antithesis of denim, e.g. draping qualities similar to gauze. least-noticable to dirty old (and young) men.

  6. The next time that it becomes available for rental, I'd like to see the movie "In her shoes." Is that a title or what?:D From what I have seen of the promos, there are many scenes of Cameron Diaz and Toni Collett in high heels. If I see it, I'll let you know how it turns out?. . .

Been a while since I last watched it but the story is more emotional as a "chick flick" than a visual heeling flick for men.

I converted the DVD into avi format using the XVID codec and Gordian Knot (either Manual or Automated)--about 400 MB--to store and play on my computer. You could do the same, renting it from Netflix.

  7. I would prefer a somewhat exaggerated version of the shape that was popular in ~1966-67 among teenage boys in America--the front looks like the Cuban heel, the back looks like a cross between the Cuban and the stilletto, e.g. with a severe slant curving into a near vertical slant near the bottom. Amounting to about an inch and a quarter squared of actual horizontal contact surface with the ground. If this makes sense.

  8. It has taken me many years to figure out why I wear women's shoes, and other clothing (basically everything except dresses and skirts), always "presenting" as a man (possibly with a strange fashion sense). I wear or am attracted to the wearing of fashions that I like to see women wear. I eventually came to the conclusioin that I am, in essence, "worshipping" femmininity, but have NO desire to be anything other than a very straight man. A reaction, probably, to a very domineering father. My 3 older brothers had their own methods of making their lives and behaviors "not like Dad's". My oldest brother was most successful, as he became the father to his kids that my dad was not. My second-oldest brother just refused to even speak to him for more than 10 years, and they never became close. He was mild and mellow, decided to teach english, about as far from what my dad taught (science) as he could get. My third eldest brother became the opposite of studious, but a mechanical and electrical whiz (which my dad was definitely not). I chose to react to anything that was "masculine", certain aspects of which my dad worshipped. He forced me to buy a pair of wing tip shoes when I was a teenager for church and dress-up occasions. I avoided them so much that they collected a layer of dust. "You're never undressed if you're wearing a tie". I sought for ways to avoid wearing a tie, such as wearing turtlenecks. "Always wear a belt". I got my mother to get me dress pants without belt loops. I took up hobbys that I knew annoyed him. I had very little interest in most sports, especially basketball and boxing (his favorites). Although I can remember back to at least the age of 4 having an interest in wearing certain girls' clothes (patent leather mary janes, underwear, and tights, but significantly NOT the dresses the girls my age were wearing), but I think that my continued interest was spurred by my need to be as different as possible from the bastard. I also find hi-heels to be therapeutic--I cannot drive long distances without extreme knee pain in my gas pedal knee, unless I am wearing a pair of heels, preferably with a 1" platform. Also, because of extreme overpronation, especially in left ankle, I often cannot walk in the morning without spending the first 1-2 hours wearing 3-4" heels. They "set" my ankle bones and ligaments in the proper alignment, so that I can wear more socially-acceptable arch-supported low heeled shoes reasonably well without too much pain for the rest of the day.

  9. I had a pair of boots EXACTLY like that that (until I grew out of them) in the mid-60's that I "inherited" from my older brother when he graduated from High School, and moved out. They were called "Spanish Boots" here in the States (before the Beatles), and then, later, "Beatle Boots". Never heard of "Winkle Pickers".

  10. Over here, c**t is most commonly used, when it is used in "normal" conversation, as a derisive reference to another human being, either a female that you have ought against, or a similar, usually sissified, male. After that, of course, it refers to the female anatomy.

  11. I prefer Nair--the 4-6 minute variety. Leave on about 10 minutes, then scrape off using a popsickle stick. Doesn't dissolve well in water, though. I have had best shaving results using a Gillette Venus razor and Skintimate shaving Gel. One disposable blade is good for both legs, and about 7 days on the face (or about a month on the face alone). Can't use more than once on legs though, without bleeding some pores/hair follicles.

  12. When I was at college 2 years ago, as a student aide in the computer lab, the beginning computer science class had the students first installing Linux, then windows 2000, as a dual boot system, on some very old "practice" computers, at the very low edge of operability for windows. The bare minimum system that we found that you could install a working version of windows 2000 on, was: Pentium 166 MHz w/48 MB RAM, or Pentium 133 MHz w/64 MB RAM, and 800 MB HDD And it took about 4 hours to install! For a dual boot system, you needed at least a 2 GB HDD.

  13. Judging from my own experiences, admittedly few and far between, they are (or could be) a way to meet interesting women--I have NEVER been complimented for wearing men's shoes or boots, but have received 3 such compliments (from women, and one from a guy as well), when wearing chunky (~3-1/2") heeled heeled boots.

  14. Heels shouldn't be a health problem, per se, with growing feet, as long as open toes are maintained--so the toes aren't squished together for the "proper" pointed look that manufacturers all seem to prefer. And they fit of course.
