I'm not sure how I feel about this. The world does seem to have got very sensitive about photos. And to think that as little as thirty years ago it was thought normal to be amused at the idea of natives believing a photo took their soul. I don't know that one can expect privacy on the street; a degree of anonymity at best. 'Public privacy' is an oxymoron. I don't mind being photographed without my knowing. It must have happened hundreds, if not thousands, of times in my life. I can imagine, though, feeling uncomfortable at a stranger coming and asking to photograph my feet, probably more so if it's preceded by a compliment.
