'Whale nets' ? Lol. It does makes sense, I also wondered what those were called. I too prefer fishnets. Mostly, since they are sturdier than seamed stockings. I love the way seamed stockings look, but nice ones are so expensive, and I get runs very easily. I wear gloves to put them on though, but to no avail...

Well, I don't think Curves for men are going to hit the mainstream for me. Kinda odd, one day will men be comparing breast size?

My favourite has to be knee high heeled boots. I like the support of the boot around my ankle.

Hi, Is wearing 5 inch heels constantly a healthy thing to do? I mean, orthopaedically I think it may do some damage later on.. I love wearing high heels too, but like Laurie I go barefoot to 6 inches. I have strengthened my ankles through ballet training, but I think that's the only preparation I have had to wearing heels. As I have hobbies and recreational activites that I like to do, always wearing 5-6 inch heels would be completely impossible. I just thought I'd ask if you looked into the long-term effects of always wearing high heels.

Hi Strawberry,
I'd reccommend Demask (www.demask.com ) There are in New York and have lots of fetishy heels. If they don't currently carry ballet heels, they could probably direct you where to go. I have'nt been there myself, but have seen shoes from them, which were very nice.
Have fun on your trip and good luck finding them!
(Gee, wish I was going somewhere)

For the costuming people? Yes, I agree they should let them keep what they make, but they don't... I've been into the costume storage rooms quite often, as one of my good friends is a costuming major. She's made frock coats for shows, Victorian dresses, and they all have to stay with the school. The worst thing about it is, the 2 costume rooms are so overcrowded, clothing gets damaged quite often. And then when they need a piece for a show, the students will resize it, sometimes totally change the existing piece. I've seen some clothes that have been remade, and the second student may not have been as precise in their sewing as the original maker. Pretty much, the clothes get destroyed. I wish I could 'liberate' some of those clothes somehow. I would pay to purchase some of the well-made work. I've asked to before, as there was a great Men's Victorian coat there, and it would have fit my fiancee perfectly, but the professor in charge said nothing was for sale. I've seen that coat in the same spot in the room, on the floor, for over 3 years...

wow, thongs at a black tie event? I think it's a sign of the times though, young people don't 'dress up' anymore. Everything has gotten very casual, and I think it's a shame..

She replied that she had not only seen the posts, but was a member of the board!

Would overwatering kill a bonsai tree? I had one but it died after a few months. It seemed really brittle, so I watered it more frequently. After a few weeks it died. I'd like to get another one sometime. Is there a variety that is more hearty than others?

I pay for all my materials but I can use the large machines at school for free. We have many good machines; a sandblaster, hydraulic press, kiln, roller printing machine, ect. I did have to purchase my own small tools though, like hand saw, pliers... After we are done making anything, we keep it ourselves. Our work is photographed and archived in our university's art department, but after that we keep it. Sadly, in our theatre department, costuming majors have to make costumes for classes and do not get to keep anything. We have huge rooms filled with costumes just rotting away on hangers. That would make me sick to spend so much time on something and to have to give it to the school.

Since there is no snow here, I agree with grass being really difficult. Also, rain can be terrible! I was walking down a long driveway once in heels, and it was rather steep. It had begun to rain which didn't make my walk any easier. I lost my balance and slid my way down the driveway. It was embarassing as it was when I was in high school and walking to the car from a dance.

I'm just wondering what doctor would cut off toes in order to accomodate a woman's shoe comfort... How terrible...

I just wondered about everyone's opinion on this.. I am an art student at California State Fullerton University, where I take classes in jewelry. I have been throwing around the idea of doing jewelry with 'shoe' images. I have done pieces in the past with corsets as my basis of designs, and I felt it was time I incorporated shoes into my jewelry designs. I work out of silver, and use flat sheet of silver and wire, manipulated various ways to make pendants, bracelets, rings, etc. Right now I am working on a corset compact but want to do some 'heel work'...

I'm interested, Francis!

Oh, and speaking of comedy, does anyone watch Father Ted? I have BBC America here in California, and we get all sorts of British shows. I've been waiting to see the new Fater ted season, yet all we get is repeats of old shows.

I love Monty Python as well. As for Mr. Bean, I prefer Rowen as Black Adder. I think it's comical and Baldrick was great. His cast is funnier than he is. I didn't much care for the WW1 version of it though, although I can't remember what season that was.

I'd love to see the old 1920's styles back in again. Gloria Swanson, Louise Brooks, Zigfield Follies Girls.. I love the look. I buy cloche hats, beaded purses, and scour ebay for clothes and coats. I love the shoes too, with little french heels! I am my own one-girl movement.

I'd say to talk to her about it some more, and tell her how you feel about it. If she isn't interested at all, and you feel this is an important issue to you, then move on. You won't be able to change her in the long run if she is totally against heels.

I think it's better to rotate shoes as you may find yourself heading to a podiatrist in a few years. It is very hard on your feet to wear 5 in. heels, and doing it 5 days a week for such a long amount of time mustn't be healthy.

Some of my shoes wear unevenly too. It depends on the shoe though, for me. Higher quality shoes don't seem to wear as much. Is it like this for anyone else?

I'd say lose the umbrella. I doubt those shoes would be very wearable in a downpour.
Pony Boots, anyone?!?

I was wondering where to post this, either in the fetish section or the how-to, so I thought this would be best... I was interested in either making or purchasing some pony boots, that is shoes on a high incline, without a heel, so it kind of looks like a hoof. I am not interested in the animal roleplay or anything, I just thought the shoes were neat and would be fun to wear.
I'm attaching a picture from someone's personal website, I haven't done this before, so it may take a few tries to make it work...
I know these were from Kayser's in Australia. I wondered if any other company made these boots as well? So far, I can only find them as a retailer...
(PS I sorted out the image link for you. See also advice below. Firefox)
