Anyone else try this?
Olounda,
Does it work?
-
I'm not really a high heel boots fan (booties and pumps and wedges are my thing), but I did just buy some delicious Via Spiga 'Christie' Riding boots as my fall/winter wardrobe staple.
I can't wait to wear these with blazers, long tunic shirts/mini dresses (which you can't tell they are mini-dresses), Burberry trench coats...the possibilities are endless.
Once I get them and try them on and measure the heel, I'll see about taking them to my local Russian cobbler to have the heel raised to 2".
Kneehighs,
Excellent selection. I've a pair as well.

This is a very good point Cinnamon. This may apply to most of us too ! (me included)
BTW, note that we need to be a member and pay for the premium audio files.
Not sure if I want to throw my money out the window this way...
About women's self esteem:
This may be explained (in part) by "pressure" from reading fashion magazines and TV adds.
I know many women with self esteem problems and they are (in my opinion) more than OK (in this area).
They don't realize how beautiful they are.
This is sad. It should not be like this...
I'm not so sure. It appear that if you are a basic member, numerous downloads are for free. Only those listed as PAY require a fee. Searching the list for high heel themes yields the following freebees:
High Heels Trainer
TrigHeels
Curse Corset
I've been doing a bit of research on the subject. Before getting into suggestive hypnosis, the consensus seems to be to start with a general induction for awhile so you get used to going into a trance. The more I look, the more inviting it becomes.

Interesting thread. Does it work? Would love it if it would make me feel less self conscious in heels. Are there any websites worth exploring?

Greetings Booted :-)
If you prefer not to wear a skirt in public, thighboots also look good over skinny jeans.
(You said that your boots are too tight to go over jeans. Did you try skinny jeans ?)
If you prefer an "androgynous" look, a riding boot (no heels) would be nice.
But if you prefer a more "girly" look then go for thightboots with heels.
It's up to you. The final decision is yours !
Daniel,
I'd really like to come up with a good way to wear my thigh boots. They were too tight even over skinny jeans.

Nobody says you have to go "all the way" to full-blown crossdressing. I don't, nor do I ever intend to since I'd probably make one hell of an ugly woman! HA! But seriously, you don't have to follow in my footsteps since I regularly wear skirts, just go your own way and do what you feel works best for you. I'm merely suggesting that thigh boots and a short skirt look GREAT!!
Jeff,
You are right on. Thigh boots with a short skirt is a great look. I experimented this weekend with a pair of tights and a short black skirt. The look is captivating and it feels to be the natural way to wear such boots. Eventually I hope to work up the courage to go out in that look but not sure if I'll do it as you do or as a cross dresser. Any suggestions from the group would be appreciated.

HA! Talk about sound advice!
I can understand the rational for your comments but I'm not sure I'm that couragous. If one was to wear a skirt, why stop there instead of going all the way to crossdressing. Either way I'm not sure I'd be into it nor would I know how to get started.

For those of you who love thigh high boots, have you found them to be practical for everyday wear. Mine have been somewhat awkward to wear. They are too tight to go over jeans and are quite bulky beneath the jeans. How do you do it?
-
Where did you find them?
Got them at Nordstroms. They are by Stuart Weitzman. I love them but a bit fidgety to wear. Too snug along the leg to wear over jeans and because of the height they feel bulky under jeans

NYC sounds good. Is there a proposed date and time?

I'd also have to agree with women's jeans being best for wearing heels. In addition, the use of stretch material seems to make them more adaptable to different body shapes not to mention much more comfortable. It has gotten to the point that they are the only kind I wear whether or not I'm wearing heels.
-
I love them, most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. Can't beat them on a cold winter day.
-
Nope!
The only flats I wear are my male shoes... though I must admit my guilty pleasure is a pair of knee high Ugg style boots...
You too.....they maybe ugly but so comfortable. When not in heels I've become a devotee of UGGs.

How about next Saturday, March 7th?
-
Interesting, cosplay or crossplay sounds like it could be a really cool way to show off your heels.
-
Without a doubt, the pair with the highest heel also turned out to be the most comfortable pair of heels I own. An unexpected but appreciated pleasure for heels that are nearly 4.5" high

I consistently wear skinny jeans tucked into women's knee high flat boots and readily get complimented by complete strangers each and every time. On 9th and 14th, some guy came up to me out of the blue and said, "those are real nice boots, really nice." At Starbucks on Spring and Crosby a friend of mine walked up to me with full compliments about my boots, wondering where he could get some. Girls invariably think they are "hot", and that's even after telling them they are women's boots.
Very nice, what brand boots and jeans do you usually wear?

Very interesting. Is CDing quite common for anime conventions?

It's getting a little cluttered due to holiday events. Perhaps we should reset for early 2009.
-
It could be the economy or just plain overstock but the sales are out early this year. Usually you have to wait until after the holidays to see prices like we have now . Another benefit is that there are still plenty of large sizes to be found. Nine West's web site has some geat deals (the wedge heel boots were from endless.com). I couldn't resist. I had to indulge. I went for the following foursome, all at great prices. Happy holiday shopping, Booted

Astrid,
Based on your experience, is the stuff we are likely to find on the web going to work or does one really need to consult a professional?
