  1. Skinny jeans have gotten to be pretty ubiquitous for both men and women. Topshop and Cheap Monday both have spray on skinny jeans for men which are as tight as any women's pair. Levi's 501 skinny is pretty much unisex. Levi's 519 is ultra skinny. Of course there are loads of women's jeans. Their usual downside is small front pockets. However some of the latest higher rise jeans from Citizens of Humanity and Rag & Bone have front pockets similar in depth to that of men's jeans.

Check the blogs that cover jeans for more info.

  2. This is to update my favorite brand of jeans. All previously mentioned brands are still good but I've recently discovered Nudie Jeans. Their "Hai Kai" style and their "Skinny Lin" style provide the same stylish comfortable fit that you typically find in women's skinny jeans. Nudie seems to market their jeans as unisex. A big advantage is the larger pocket size found in mens jeans. If you are looking for skinny jeans to tuck in boots or high light your pumps, these are superb.

  3. If you haven't seen it, check out the "The Walking Dead" but be careful as it's addicting. Beyond the zombie kitsch it is an intoxicating story about surival and resiliency of the human spirit. Great actors and actresses with a compelling script.

Other television delights: Vampire Diaries, The Originals, and Helix.

  4. For those of you experiencing ankle, knee, or foot pain,  if it is not better after one or two days of rest and icing it down, I strongly suggest you see a physician. From my experience, delaying treatment can result in bigger problems and longer recovery times especially if it is a tendon issue. Fix it fast before it becomes something you regret for a very long time.

  5. In the US it is clearance season for boots. I came across the following boots from UGG and couldn't resist. I know UGG, how could I but these are different. They have a 4 and 1/2 inch heel with a 1 inch platform, shearling lining which would have been great for this winter and the best arch support system I've ever had in high heels. So good that they have better support than many of my sneakers. UGG, who would have thought!

  6. Pumpcat, Great post. How was it going out for the first time in a skirt & heels? Do you plan on doing it more often? From your experience is it better try it dressed as a woman or as a man wearing women's clothes? Are there any pros and cons to either approach? Booted

  7. Rockpup, I just bought a pair of those Cole Haan wedge boots at an incredible post-xmas discount. We just got our fist snowfall of the year and you are absolutely right - they are great in the snow. Booted

  8. I've recently started getting manicures which gets finished off with a clear polish. It seems to make my nails harder and the manicure last longer. The idea of colors is tempting. Has anybody tried a french manicure? If so, how long did it last and did it attract any attention?

  9. I also think the right style of jeans are important for your overall look when wearing heels. I've found Levi's Curve ID Classic Demi Curve styles (bootleg, straight leg, or skinny leg) to work quite well. Just about any of the Not Your Daughters Jean (NYDJ) seem to be okay. For truly skinny legs, my favorites are J-Brand's Maria high rise skinny jeans however I need to watch for sales on these as they are quite pricey.

  10. Ok, so the neiman Marcus outlet knocked a bit more off the price.. Got the Rick Owens boots for probably 86% off. This makes the original Bergdorf Goodman price tag of $1595 a bit easier to swallow.

These are high. 6 inch actual heel, with about an inch of platform. They will take some practice to wear quite a bit out in public, but are comfortable on the feet, even if my lower legs let me know they are not very happy with me yet.

Rockup...I tried on a pair of these in black leather today at Barney's. A truly amazing boots. If only I could afford them.

  11. Wide calf boots seem to be a recent trend. Take Nine West for example, four or five years ago their boot shaft fit my calf nicely. However, now their shafts are huge as if designed for elephants. It's not me as my calves haven't changed over the years. This could be a result of designers providing larger boot shafts to facilitate tucking of jeans into them.

  12. I like both looks. I usually wear the jeans over my boots when wearing heels. With flats and thigh high boots I wear skinny jeans / jeggings that slide right into the boots so that they don't bunch up at the knees. In my opinion, it is impractical to cover thigh boots with jeans.
