  1. We have quite a lot in common! I've been through this situation a good few times. Many stores are now offering click and collect which really helps. My wife found my stash once, managed to dig myself out of the whole but had to ditch them all. Now just down to a couple of pairs. She doesn't work anymore so it's difficult / impossible to wear them in the house. I've started wearing them more outside, although only locally when it's dark to avoid being noticed

  2. This week I had a good experience in one of kurt geigers flagship stores. I'd seen some of their knee high boots were for sale online so thought I'd pop in to hopefully try on. It was fairly quiet as it was a midweek morning. I found the boots on the shelf and and decided to just go for it and try it on. It was a UK 8 and felt pretty good so I asked for the other one. The sales assistant was a young lady and didn't seem at all phased or bothered. She brought them out in both colours for me to try on and we had a conversation about the beautiful boots are how nice the leather was. I didn't purchase them at the time but I have bought them online since.

  3. Personally I've never had a conversation/discussion with anyone other than a SA whilst trying on shoes or boots. The best reactions I've had were both from young female SAs. During a recent visit to the USA, I managed to find some Michael Kors Clara boots in a US size 11. It was in a Macys store on a Saturday afternoon, so as you can imagine it was quite busy. I plucked up the courage to ask for my size and was pretty surprised when they did. I thought, oh well no one knows me here so I might as well try them on. A couple of women customers were sat fairly close and started to pass comments about the boots and that "see how his foot just slipped in". I tried to hide my embarrassment and just zipped them up and had a walk around. It ended with the SA asking how I manage to walk so well in heels. It was all very friendly, I don't think you'd get that sort of reaction in the UK. I'm not sure we're that ready!

What's your favourite heel style: block or slim

What's your favourite shoe style: knee length boots

Anything else you wish to add: I wish I could wear out more but fear seeing someone I know and working in a macho industry, it would be pretty much unbearable if "they" found out. Starting to buy more top end / up market styles, I'm a bit obsessed with boots

  5. Yeah, I usually do wear darker ones but I was trying them on in a rush as they had just arrived. To be honest I don't really wear items to please others, just myself. I also find the personal comments a bit rich coming from someone that wears tights with open toe sandals!

  6. Come with all packaging, tissue paper, dust bag . Only opened to take photos then repackaged . Beautiful tan leather lining. A generous size 8, not small as usually happens with top end designer shoes and boots. Really comfy, I have them in black too but keeping them. Originally £680, grab a bargain to treat yourself or a loved one for Christmas. £250 or best offer, I will post worldwide, costs for this will obviously vary on location

  7. I have requested to try them on in a changing room and been refused because it was a women's clothes and shoe shop, there was no way I was going to try on thigh boots in public! Generally the sales persons are good , I do try and avoid sales men as I think women are more approachable and open minded . I did however have 2 good experiences at louboutin concession in Harvey Nichols , Manchester. Both were gents, so no real stereo type is possible!

  8. I did it too! Managed to locate some boots I was after in london, so decided to wear boots/tights/skirt in daylight when on my way to get them! Wasn't brave enough for the first train station but got changed in the toilets as it was early morning and quiet. Wore my lk bennett moya black leather knee boots on the train and then walked from euston to euston square. Didn't get any funny looks or comments and thought this is going well, especially as they're really high heels. Then got tube to wembley park as I was going to the lk bennett outlet but decided to swap to a pair of flat boots for the walk to the shop as I wasn't sure of the exact route or distance, still no funny comments or pointing! Tried on a couple of pairs of boots and decided to get both (£160 for originally £800 worth of boots!) . Decided to wear one of the new pairs for my next excursion. Wembley park to sloane square (for kings road) took about 40 mins on the tube. I must have looked like I had issues, wearing boots with another 2 large boxes of boots. If I'm honest,I do ! Wanted to go to the Christian louboutin shop but was running out of time so decided to head back for the train home. Feet started to feel a bit smashed by now so changed into flat boots and jeans for the march just to make sure I didn't miss the train. All in all a really good day, probably walked 3or 4 miles in boots, but don't think I'll be doing it locally just in case I bump into someone I know.

  9. As I had to whittle down my boots collection due "secretive storage" , I have just the lk bennett moya boots now. I don't really like covering them up as I think they look too good to be under jeans. TBH my legs look pretty good in tights too!

  10. I'm also from the north west. The mrs does not support the boot wearing in any fashion and so I have to be secretive. Try not to wear them in public during daylight, so it's getting more difficult as the days get longer!
