The other thing that sets those fashions apart from today, is that women themselves had far greater self-confidence and self-esteem. They knew how to take a compliment, and they knew how to DRESS, and thus were able to show themselves off that much more sensually and gracefully.

All in all, a far more civilised, tasteful and elegant age for women's fashion in all respects.

My dear, at those times, you have to learn how to be and to walk like a lady.

Helena Rubinstein used to say "there are no ugly women but lazy"

  2. I totally agree with you. The "OOoh, I like!" factor is huge.

There have been times when I was at the mall and my intention was to get some mascara or eye shadow. I walk by the shoe store, see something that really catches my eye, try it on and the next thing I know, I am giving money to the cashier.

Good to see that I am not the only girl who has fallen into that trap :)

we caught in a trap..and so DELICIOUS!!! :)

  3. Sometimes when I'm going out the heels are among the first things I put on, and I put the rest of the outfit together around them. Alternatively, I'll put them in the centre of my bed and put the clothes I fancy wearing around them to imagine what it's all going to look like. Either way, it certainly gets me in the mood for fun and games.

Exactly, the same approach as I do. It is a sort of ritual for me. and that is the starting point of any party. Ready, Steady, - GO.

  4. I really love platforms.

I am now branching out from platforms, but as a fairly new heel wearer they allow me to go into the higher heights with a little more ease. It also doesn't hurt that they are really on trend right now.

I love platforms and long may they stay in fashion. if you are not very tall they are an absolute necessity

I totally agree. I also love big platforms (stripper platforms :) ) for special occasions

  5. My wife looks just like Bettie Page during her heyday. She has done look-a-like and modeling. We were at the Bettie Page Clothing Store in Vegas a few years ago and my wife came out of the dressing room and Bettie's business manager happened to be in the store and dropped a piece of artwork when he saw her.

Cassie J, my husband and I thought you re a very fortunate husband :)

It would seem most women would rather have there men be a sterotypical man where they dress in mens clothing wear mens footwear and take interest in things that men do (that's not me so I kinda can't give reall good examples) like drink beer and watch sport??

yes, and by the same time, most women usually claim against typical male attitudes.

They are only shoes after all...The only difference is the heel height.

(And they look much better than our "boring" men's shoes too !)

    surely...heels are joy !!!

reading the entire trhead..I think to myself..we, ladies, why dont we do a little contribution to a better world being quite open minded and sharing our heels passion with guys? :)

reading between the lines, they adore heels and adore us too!!

  7. Your question is in the wrong section of the forum. It should be in the girls section.

I disagree. I 'm deeply interested chatting with guys about this subject. Usually, I learn a lot listening to them, their points of view and their experiences.

Luckyme., thank you for telling us your experience

Many, many women are very 'catty' and snobbish about other women's clothes and shoes - and they will criticise another rival female's style and wardrobe at any easy opportunity. This is especially true in Countries where old-fashioned views and strict morals still exist in society. Of course they see another woman as a rival as well. Under these circumstances, many women will therefore consider high heels to be 'slutty' or 'tarty'....(Only prostitutes wear high heels.......!).

...and she perfectly described the snakes in the grass that I have to face daily.

I participate in fur's forums and discussions about men wearing furs are similar.

My vision is...an overwhelming majority of women rejects men in heels. They see it as an invasion in her holy world. Of course, forums like this one are islands. Our opinions are not representative anyway.

Men in heels are, for me, always associated with fetishes, crossdressing and kinky sex. Most women are still afraid of that. OK, you can say "Im not fetichist, Im just wear heels because I like them, Im not effeminate, Im a straight man "..etc. etc. but women usually "read" the situation in a very different way

Fourth: did women make polls, when they startet wearing pants - about 100 years ago? NO! they just simply did it!

OK, you're right. But those pants hadn't a sexual connotation. Heels are undoubtely sexual, as far as I believe.
