  1. It's not  Tubular Bells is it, beacuse bells don't work  if you patch them.  It's not Eton Rifles, nor anything by Kiki Dee, and I don't think it's Space Oddity, but I think I detect a Major

Nope. You are correct that the tune is in a Major mode though.

I know it'a a piece of classical music, but knowing the name is a different matter.

    Yep.

  2. Hi, i'm Billy I'm new here, shame I never found it earlier.

    Welcome!

I've had a fetish for High Heels and well worn flip flops (???) since puberty. The invention of Ebay has allowed me to build a frankly ridiculous collection of shoes.over the last 12 years, but sadly i've got to get rid. I'm moving in with my girlfriend next month and coming clean about my obcession isn't an option.

Im afraid to say, but my honesty tells me to do this.. Your relationship is in huge trouble before it gets any more serious.

I pretty much live with her now but i'm staying at my place tonight and next week, just to wear them all one last time and take loads of photos. :( I've kept this well hidden from 2 previous girlfriends, but i'm really serious with my current oneand I daren't come clean because I know it would be over.

Think of this : Every time you hear a nice pair of heels strike the ground in a mall, a parking lot, where you work or even out on a date with the girlfriend, what thought will enter your mind? " Wow, heels! I love wearing them.. but I cant.. because I told myself I cant because of certain reasons.. " . You will haunt yourself for as long as your with her.

There are 12 pairs of heels, mainly thin soled, thin heeled stiletto sandals and 5 or 6 pairs of sandals/flip flops. There are about 6 pairs I cannot be parted with though, and my question is, guys in my position, how do you keep the habit hidden?

Many of us have found out, you CANNOT keep anything hidden from your partner. To do so is ( somewhat ) lying to them. At the very least, your being dishonest to your partner. Your partner will eventually find out about this and the longer things stay ' hidden ' the worse the consequences are.

What *I* would do is tell her outright that you have this ' thing ' about high heels. You find them very attractive and have even worn them in the past. Tell her your willing to give up such a thing to try and make things work out between the 2 of you.

She needs to understand that you do have a past you cannot change and a FUTURE you wish to share with her if shes willing to have it.

Your relationship is a 2 way thing. Shes been with other men ( assuming shes not a virgin ) and you dont hold her as a ' cum dumpster ' or a ' toy ' of some other men before you. You respect her enolugh to say ' I wish to be with you from now on ' and dont care what the past was. She should have the same consideration towards your past, that its irrelevant ( just some shoes you wore ) and that the 2 of you are going to move forward together.

There are many of us that have found out your fears used to be the same as ours.. and thats all it was. ' Fear ' and nothing more. MANY of us have Wives/Husbands/Partners that like us for who we are, not what we wear.

    Cheers!

  3. We all have Hobbies or ' projects ' we work on. What are you up to lately? Reading a new series of books? Building a house? Restoring a car? Fixing a lawnmower? It could be almost anything.

Myself? Im trying to fix a dilema that I have run into and have had no means commercially to aid me. I like the feel of one type of guitar and the sound of another. Both companies are presently under a parent owner but wont work together to build me what I want so Im building my own ' bastard ' of sorts.

I LOVE the sound of the older Jackson guitars but the necks on them arent as reliable when they make it 20 years into playing on them. The wood discolors and the frets are hard to replace due to neck inlays and such. I LOVE the feel of Charvel necks and realized I can purchase them directly through a private source in quantity.

So.. Im building my own kind of guitar.

1986 vintage DK1 bodies with 2014 Charvel San Dimas type necks.

  4. I would like to ask your opinion..

Oh, I know. And this is why our original government was set up to not have a specific government/religious affiliation. This is due to the fact laws aligned with one religion tend to infringe on the rights of those outside of that religion.

The same can be said for all religions. You are free to not do whatever it is your religion says not to do, but you are not free to restrict others who do not hold your beliefs.

Say if your in France or the U.K. and the population of a certain _put in whatever theocratical belief one wishes to use_ grows in numbers and votes. They start segregating themselves and institute THEIR ' culture ' into THEIR neighborhoods and legislate protections for such. They grow and take over certain courts or constable positions which will uphold those theocratical beliefs.. What happens to all the non-believers liberties?

Even after giving ' tolerance ' and in some instances ' support ' for others having their beliefs whom we may laugh at, not believe in or consider a fairy tale.. our liberty is then to be legislated away?

Job happenings occur and like the example above, someone comes for an interview, you hire them, then they show up presenting themselves as a theologian of somekind and demand others HAVE to accept them.

People can say Im a nut or crazy or whatever they wish, but many nations ' cultures ' and their systems are being primed for picking. Theres too much denial out there.

Once again, for saying the obvious, those whom disbelieve what I said will get fired up.. even after all the examples of fact are put on the table before them..

Whatever happened to recognizing the obvious?

  5. Those here that wear heels in public, more power to ya, but I would bet, more often than not, that you get known as the crazy guy that wears womans shoes and boots. Some poeple will get used to seeing you around, and realize you are harmless and chat with you from time to time and to some point accept the shoe wearing, but I doubt there are very many people that high fashion is the first thing they think about when they see a guy in heels. For the most part most people are amused by the oddity of it all.

Honestly, Im known as the guy whom helped rid the Town of a ' Rat '. Im known as the guy whom welds tractor parts. Im the guy whom pissed off the local Union when I repaired a road after it was a-muck for 2-3 years. :)

  6. If some Christians can contort their religion to restrict the rights of some (Gay marriage bans), then why shouldn't Muslims feel free to set their own laws?

My point is theres a *small* difference between the 2 groups you have mentioned.

Most ( supposed ) ' christians ' believe that they helped found our nation. That its some ' judeo-christian ' type of mash which helped guide our founders into writing our Constitution.

I say ' Supposed ' as we all know that no human being should be ' property ', yet they allowed such to happen. The founders wanted freedom FROM theocracies yet they allowed it to ( supposedly ) ' co-exist ' and gave them tax exemptions when other more productive entities could use the tax-break better then the Theocracies/Churches presently do.

I sat the following from my own experiences. If it offends anyone, I will NOT apologize as the truth needs to be recognized every now and then to keep reality alive.

I dont know if you have ever been to an Islamic Nation. Ive had the great displeasure of being Stationed in Saudi Arabia.

What *I* saw ( not something I have read or was told second hand ) was very sickening. Women were basically slaves. They werent allowed to walk on a street ahead of the man ( or men ) they were with. They werent allowed to drive.

If you feel your discriminated against in the U.S. because your gay, try Saudi Arabia. They have castrated, whipped/flogged and sentenced ( all publicly ) men whom have been accused of the ' crime ' of being gay. To even MENTION that there should be advocacy for gays or transgendered people is ILLEGAL. Think of that! Just to say ' Ya know.. maybe we should look at gays as human beings ' will put you on the receiving end of corporal or even capitol punishment from the states religious institution.

I'll take a Christian calling me a ' fag ' and laugh about it all day long knowing they arent going to be like a Muslim and try to remove the boys from between my legs. Those Christians cant LEGALLY flog me in public nor take my head in the U.S. of A. We are a nation of laws written by MAN, not some supposed ' deity '.

Slavery is STILL legal in Saudi Arabia. Saw such with my own eyes. They ' sell slaves ', mostly Africans they acquire in their ventures.

Some would say this isnt ' Islam ', yet its Sharia Law being enforced ( which is the laws of Islam, not the laws of man like out Constitution provides ).

We dont go to court and say ' gods commandments say.. '. Instead we are tried by mans written law and a Jury of our ( supposed ) equals. In Islam, not at all. ' Gods law ' applies.

To answer your question, Muslims DO in fact feel they can set their own laws. Ever read about ' honor killings ' in Canada? ISIS has established a Caliphate covering half of 2 countries presently. They are starting to take over Europe. 10% of France is now Muslim and they are breeding. What happens when they get enough seats in the French Parliament? Are they NOT going to stop the presses at Charlie Hebo? Are they not going to execute gays/homosexuals/guys whom wear heels or ' cross dress ' as its called?

For even saying such would/could/might happen, many will despise my words. Honestly, I couldnt care less, its their country to loose. Its THEIR cultures that will be dissolved and their women put behind the veil and non-followers into despair of many means. They can say ' it wont happen ', but its already started. That school teacher Dr. Shoe mentioned is a PRIME example of this.

Some will say ' you have islomophobia '.. not at all. I've called Arty on quite a few of them. I sleep well at night after doing such and will do it again in my own lands if ' we the people ' see it fitting.

Im not at all agreeing with Christianity. Those ' Christians ' have had a good time in the past with the Inquisition and Crusades. In present times, they have bombed abortion clinics and discriminated against others. BUT! They havent gone as far as taking people into the streets and doing the malicious and ( IMO ) disgusting acts of a religious courts dictation ( we dont have religious courts to allow such to happen ).

In comparison, some might make the statement that ' Christians ' tolerate gays because they allow them to live. Its a sickening way to view such a situation of comparison, but truthful. Its NOT the answer everyone wants to hear. Its that answer that everyone finds ' soooo offensive!!! ', yet its the truth.

To this day, Islamic Law and their courts in several nations have *publicly* beheaded people. Some as recent as last week. These ' executions ' are done LAWFULLY in their nations.

( More in a few. Something came up )

My point being : We have laws of man that we voted people to legislate for us. A ' Governed Society ' that we can be flexible with. We can amend things and repeal things or Add things. Such is about impossible with an established Theocracy.

A Theocratical person knows this. Devout Catholics have to Tolerate the existence of Gays, Abortion Clinics and other Religions. Muslims however seem to have little tolerance for anything, least they part someones head or show up at a work place after being hired in the false belief that everyone HAS to tolerate them and their misgivings.

Im not one for ' death camps ' ( Abortion clinics ) But Im not going to bomb one. I've never even protested one. Im not gay but I understand different people have different attractions and theres nothing that will change anyones mind about it. In Islam, nothing seems tolerated outside of whats ledgered inside their Qur'ran and there are very severe penalties they will issue to those whom oppose them, even if those people are peaceful and not in a Sharia run country ( Hello comic editors, reporters, human aid/red cross workers, priests, women, children.. theres no boundaries at all. ).

How can we, as free people, have any form of ' tolerance ' for such a religion when we see day in and day out what it all boils down to?

Some say ' those are the radicals ! '. The Saudi Government, Iranian Government and a few others, WHOLE NATIONS are all ' radicals '?

Fact is, and Ill get flamed for saying it, The Saudi Government, Iranians and others are more then likely the mainstream ' Muslim '.

  7. Firstly, there is nothing in the K'ran that states that muslim women have to dress this way. She was just posing the police with obstacles to get away with driving without a licence.

When I lived in Hackney they'd be happily chatting to their friends in english until they get arrested when suddenly they lose all command of the language. What the police would do though is to take to the police station and then hold them until they suddenly remembered how to speak english or they found an interpreter. They never rushed to find said interpreter...

I used to see the same thing all the time when I lived in the' City '. Lackawanna N.Y. has an area everyone calls ' Little Yemen ' as the local population there are all from Yemen. They dont speak much English there and play the same game with the Police when confronted.

Then there was the school teacher in Luton who went to the interview in western clothes but turned up on her first day in a full burkha...

I read about that. Talk about a double standard.

What is getting scary is how a religion is taking over and nobody is doing anything about it. If anyone says anything they are turned into the ' bad person '.

  8. I saw this article and wondered ( before reading it ) " What now? ". I didnt realize how incompatable certain people are in certain areas.

I normally dont read this website as I believe the majority of its writers and readers are of the ' developmentally disabled ' category. In saying such, I apologize to the ' retarded ' people whom might take offense to my tossing those readers/writers in with a group that truly has an exception for their faults.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/01/23/malak-kazan-hijab-dearborn-heights-police-lawsuit_n_6534860.html?ncid=txtlnkusaolp00000592

Heres some snippits from the article :

"A Muslim woman who was forced to remove her hijab by police in Michigan claims her religious rights were violated, and she’s hoping a civil rights lawsuit will ensure other women don't have the same experience.

Malak Kazan, 27, is suing the police department and city of Dearborn Heights, a suburb of Detroit, after officers refused her request to keep her headscarf on while taking a booking photo. Her attorney Amir Makled filed the lawsuit in federal court Thursday."

    The woman was arrested. Why?

"Kazan was stopped for a traffic violation in Dearborn Heights on July 9, and was then arrested; Makled says her license had been suspended for outstanding traffic tickets. "

She admits she was driving in PUBLIC with everyone else while knowing her license wasnt valid. She didnt pay her fines OR never appeared before the court to clear the matters of her infractions ( Guilty or not doesnt matter ).

The part that really galls me :

"The lawsuit states that at the police station she was asked to remove her headscarf, which she wears in public and when she is in the presence of men who aren’t family members, for her booking photo. When she told the unnamed officer that to do so would violate her religious beliefs, he said there were no exceptions. She spoke with his supervisor, who also allegedly refused her request.

Kazan says she then requested that a female officer take the photograph, which was also denied. The lawsuit alleges the first officer then threatened her with further detention if she didn’t comply.

The suit claims Kazan experienced “extreme shame, humiliation, mental anguish, and emotional distress” when she was forced to remove her hijab.

"To Ms. Kazan, wearing a headscarf is a reminder of her faith, the importance of modesty in her religion, and her religious obligations, as well as a symbol of her own control over who may see the more intimate parts of her body," the lawsuit states."

We have a ' booking ' system. Every State in the United States Union has them. These laws apply to EVERYONE, not just men, women, white, green, blue, brown, gay, or straight. Christian, Jew, Muslim, Buddhist, Shinto.. it all doesnt matter.

What I need to ask everyone : " Where does it end? ".

If this woman was put into the system ( incarcerated ), and it was determined a scarf like she wears could be used as a weapon ( choke someone with it ), would the ' civil rights activists ' all cry foul?

When/Where do the Theocratical beliefs of others go above and beyond the laws instituted by our legislatures?

Maybe if this good religious person would have taken care of her prior issues, she wouldnt have had to face having her photo taken while in custody under the circumstances shes complaining about.

  9. I have to re-itterate on this a bit.

are women jealous to see a man wearing the best heels in town and walking better than she can, if she has a male heeler as a friend, but some other woman steals her high heel friend, from her, would she feel insecure about it. what if you have the better collection that your girlfriend or wife, how would they take it,

I think things would be more on ' presentation ' then anything else.

Example : There are some women are horrible in certain shoes. There have been videos of them falling off their jackstands during runway shows, walking down stair cases.. Ive seen it in public before.

In the same instance, there are men whom could wear those same type of shoes and not have any problems.

Reverse both of the rolls, flip the page.. it goes both ways.

The reason why I dont think many women would be jealous at all is.. Most men whom will start heeling will look *cheap*. Dont everyone get their panties in a bunch with what Im going to say here as its the truth.

We flip through the pages here and see the ' freestyler ' type threads and are asked to ' share pictures '. We ask about outfits amongst one another and even Amanda has kicked in a few comments every now and then.

The average guy whom is going to put on a pair of heels and go out is probably going to NOT have a full outfit planned. They are probably going to put on a pair of ' fetish ' or ' jackstand ' type shoes that dont go with what else they are going to wear. O have seen very FEW men whom can ' rock ' such a shoe.

I would tend to believe 50-60% of ALL women want a guy whom is a ' guy ' ( as Amanda said ' butch ' looking ). They are going to see a guy in heels and might be more curious about them then attracted to them.

Pumped stated "Around these parts women would get a chuckle out of a man wearing heels and wonder why he was not wearing a dress, or more certain he is gay. Jealous? Not for a second!"

His comment is probably more truthful then we all would wish, but its reality.

There has only been 1 instance ( that I know of ) where any woman has shown any interest in me while wearing heels outside of my wife. There are few women whom are interested in men whom wear heels.

  10. This topic again? Ok. :(

are women jealous to see a man wearing the best heels in town and walking better than she can,

Define ' best heels '. Do you mean by pricetag? Looks alone? Comfort? Whats more terrain adaptable or just too stylish to be practical?

I wear ' nice ' shoes. None have been over 200$ as thats the ' cap limit ' I put on what I feel is justifiable for a pair of shoes. Does a pair of Louie-boot-teens rate better then mine? Try walking in the snow filled with salt in those 1000$ pair of shoes and see how long they last. ;)

In all seriousness, theres no ' best ' in anything. Theres always something better and worse for anything we could imagine depending on the perspective of the individual.

if she has a male heeler as a friend, but some other woman steals her high heel friend, from her, would she feel insecure about it. what if you have the better collection that your girlfriend or wife, how would they take it,

At this point, I have more shoes then my wife. Doesnt mean anything to either of us. It shouldnt. As for stealing someones friend, theres no such thing. People choose whom they associate with. If they choose one person over another, its not theft.

Here we go... Another thread asking about what women think of men in heels.  Honestly, who cares!

    Exactly! :D

Probably a lot more people than you think, in both genders. Men are concerned because they're treading in "forbidden" or taboo territory.

Says the guy whom struts in stilettoes to the guy whom struts in thigh boots, " I dont think so ". :D

    They're worried about self-esteem,

    Nope. Not at all.

being seen as gay, and all that stuff.

Whats wrong with being ' gay '? Whats wrong with being a ' breeder '? I see no problem with either.

Some men are very insecure about this issue and won't dare go out in public wearing heels.

Thats on them. Thats their choice and their loss. Maybe they will realize such at some point and hopefully its before they are old and cant walk without an aid of some kind.

There are a lot of women who think it's ok for other guys to wear whatever they want, including heels, but NOT THEIR MAN. They don't want their husband or SO to wear heels at all.

VERY true! I have friends whos wives dont mind my choice of footware. When I challenged their hubbies/boyfriends to give it a try, their claws come out, the hissing starts.. things can get ugly.

I will say *NO* definitive answer to why some of those women are set in such a way. Im not a mind reader and wont speak for their beliefs.

Thats on the women though. MOST of the guys I know think it would be a blast to give it a ' try ', even around their house just to see ' what women complain about ' or as a challenge to see if its really as difficult as portrayed.

It's a big problem for the guy who has the high heel gene, because his desire won't go away, so it has to be repressed, causing him unhappiness, or if he goes ahead and wears heels, it causes her unhappiness.

You may not care, but a lot of people do.

    Steve

Your last part there goes back to the original message and what I mentioned earlier in this response. We choose whom to be around or associate with. If we wish to do something that harms nobody else, and someone doesnt like it, *WE* ( you and I ) make a choice to tell them ' Im going to do this ' and take into consideration the other person not being happy or being resentful, versus, our denying what could/does/might make us happy and being miserable. The second part people say is a ' self sacrifice ' when in actuality, its just being submissive to anothers will. Its a common strategy in todays society to get others to ' conform '.

  11. "Call it midlife crisis, but I finally don’t give a f*** anymore what people say.

If I really want to find a soulmate, she should like me how I really am."

    Exactly!

I think the $172,000 in six years shut most of us down! That works out to about $28,000 per year. After taxes I wonder how many here may that kind on change. I don't spend 1/50th of that on clothing per year. That "mid level management job" pays fairly well!

Im quite guilty in another ' direction '. In the last year, I have acquired 5 different BlackStar Amplifiers, 8 new Charvel Guitars, 2 new recording boards, 4 new 8channel firewire recording interfaces, 4 20-space racks all filled with amps and effects..

I think we all have some ' area of interest ' we spend cash or too much time with. Its different for each of us, but we ALL have it. ;)

    Cheers!

  12. Greetings Jackie. Welcome to hhplace.

I dont believe there is one brand that sticks out above the rest or even 5 brands. Weather, surfaces walked upon, type of terrain being covered.

Its all a personal preference. ;)

    Cheers!

  13. I was going through IMDB looking for an actor and came across Lindsay Kay Haywads profile.

I didnt know whom she was. I thought ' some heavier set chick whom bleches her hair '. I was wrong.

    I didnt realize shes 6 foot 8 !

I started looking at her pictures and said to myself ' damn.. her wardrobe is so limited ' and then I remembered how tall she was.

She wears a size 14 US Womens shoe. Outside of Pleaser jackstands, what else can she wear? Shes already tall, then toss on a pair of pleasers?

I looked at a few of her pics in pleasers next to other actresses and actors and it just looked so damn odd.

I then gave a thought to some of the Women I associate with or have relations of some kind with. My sister is 5-11. The woman whom works the register for us is 6-1. The woman at the local hair dresser is pushing 6 foot. Darian is 5-10 ( same height as myself ).

There are some tall women in these parts.

What do these women do for clothing? I see guys becoming upset that size 11 heels are limited and 12's arent readily in existence.. Imagine being that tall and trying to find just a classic pair of heels for a prom or formal occasion.

    Thoughts?

  14. Not my cup of tea. And yeah, they are ugly as sin.

I dont think they are' ugly ', just limited in what could be worn with them.

I couldnt see a Skirt or Dress. Capris? eh.. Maybe full legged leather pants or something to that effect.

*I* too thought they were fugly, then I looked at them from a perspective of ' what COULD ' work with those? A Costume came immediately to mind so there is some kind of ' function ' to go with a limited fashion scope IMO.

The Biggest problem I would have with those is theres ( probably ) little to no feeling through the jackstand on the bottom of them. I couldnt work my pedal board, thus, I couldnt even really use them doing a ' KISS ' impersonating band thingi.

Im sure SOMEONE could pull it off but not me. I need to feel the pedal board.

  15. It would be wrong if 'Je suis Charlie' came to mean 'I'm not Muslim', and I found scenes of a crowd chanting it disquieting.

As being someone whom was involved in the First Gulf War, Im quite PROUD to say Im not a muslim. Im proud to say I believe women should be as equals to every other human being. Im PROUD to say I support others freedoms of speech and to be able to associate with whomever they wish. Im proud to say I loves me some BBQ pork ribs and Porkchops, a pound of greasy bacon with my breakfast to start the day off!

Folks in Europe need to take a stand. While Europeans are dying off, Muslims are breeding quicker then your own. If people see reality for what it is, look at whats going on, whos hijacking planes, whos wacking cartoonists, whos beheading people and being filmed for their TV shows doing it, whos calling for the deaths ( and now making good on it ) for some cartoons or even an article they dont agree with?

I'm ' mean ' or frowned upon because I speak the truth that everyone already knows.

Its SAD when a French cop has to beg and plead for his life only to be gunned down like a varmit.

People can have all the rallies they want and wave all kinds of banners in the air, but its not going to prevent them from doing to you as *they* please.

As a guy who wishes freedom for all, there can be no ' peace ' until a certain theology is held accountable.

I know what the solution to the problem is. Its not ' correct ' enough for the masses though.

  16. Might also help some of us are not in England, and even in America we do not get taught all of our own history. For example, I was out of school before I learned we put Japanese descended Americans into concentration camps for WW2.

If you don't want to enlighten us, then forgive us for ignoring this thread.

I figured this might have been about those cartoonists getting wacked by muslims. Im probably wrong though. The message was in french, me no espeekeey. ;)

  17. Perhaps the gold buckle on top? I won't deny that was what attracted me to those shoes and led me to buy a pair. By the by, what do you think of the "Manic" pumps?

It could be the buckle. I was looking at them again and still wondering what I find about them thats draws me for another look..

The Manic pump? Its a classic type of pump, has my liking. I like how the toe cover is a solid with the rest of the shoe seeming vented. Adds contrast to it.

    Cheers!

  18. Just like any woman, a man can never have enough shoes, and New Year's Eve proved a boon to me as I bought two new pairs from Payless in what I call a case of short and tall. The short (pictures 1 & 2) is the "Genevieve" flat heeled loafer in cognac with a shiny gold buckle on top, stylish and comfortable, just the sort of shoe for casual outings. The tall (pictures 3 & 4) is the "Manic" four inch heeled pump in black, what makes this shoe unique are the perforations on top and along the sides, this sort of shoe DEMANDS to be worn with a skirt, hiding it under pants or jeans would be criminal. All in all, I'm very pleased with my purchases and will show them off on future jaunts.

I waited on commenting as I needed several ' looks ' over a period of time before I could make a truthful comment.

I didnt know what to think about the loafers. I own a few pairs of flats, but none are loafers. I didnt really have any interests in loafers before but after looking on with time intervals.. I might have to get a pair.

Dunno what it really is, but there is something ( in a small way ) appealing about that style.. I keep going back and looking at them wondering ' why do I find them interesting ' to the point where they seem ' like-able ' from my view.

  19. I often wonder what the scale or conversion chart would look like if all footwear used the same universal measurements and didn't distinguish on a sex bases or age.

I would greatly welcome such a ' standard ' but it wont happen. The metric system isnt as friendly to ' machine ' work as SAE presently is. In the future, it might something to look forward to.

Isnt the ' U.K. ' system for footware somewhat universal? A ' U.K. size 8 ' is the same for both a man and a woman?
