  1. Hi and welcome to the forum, Speaking from experience you will soon hopefully gain the confidence to go out and about during the day and to busy places with heels on in "Man" mode. I have just had an afternoon in central London in 3 inch boots with a pair of jeans and a shirt and had no problems, in fact We got two positive comments from total strangers! Again welcome and look forward to hearing of your exploits

  2. The first two weeks in May is good for me, I would be down in Denham (Bucks) so not that far away if anything is arranged. London is good for a night out. Had an afternoon on Oxford Street recently and had no probs wearing stiletto boots with a pair of jeans. Think we gave the old lady on the next table a heart attack when she realised that the two guys on the next table were wearing heels..... I will be there is something is arranged.. I live in Cumbria so I have to rely on someone down there organising...

  3. That is a superb idea, having just had an outstanding afternoon in Oxford Street with a fellow Heeler, I would most definately attend any event in London. Being relatively new to the forum and living UP North, I am not ideally placed to organise an event, but I will surely be there if one is arranged.

  4. I think that we are going to see an abundance of wedges of all varieties for the spring/ summer along with a lot of strappy high block heeled sandals (Think 1970's) with a lot of retro patterns/colours.

For the evening I think that this year we will see very high heels, think 5-6 inch plus with ultra thin stilettos, in bright primary colours.

  5. Absolutely fabulous that he is wearing those boots, Ignore the press and the herd of "normals" and strut your stuff lenny! Bowie, Boy George, Adam Ant, Elton John and others have all wore heels and yet no one commented on the footwear..... I think that heels for men is coming onto the style radar more and more, so lets have some other celebs following the trend!

  6. Hey welcome, Hope that it all went ok with your mother, let us all know how you got on. I see that you went to New Look, they have got loads of size 9 shoes in the sale at the moment... just look out for the widefit labels, because I've found those to be the easiest to wear. Also check out Brantano (Go up to a 10), Evans the same and Barratts, though at Barratts you will have to ask for the shoes to try. any way Good Luck and again Welcome.

  7. I think it is ok for guys to wear pink heels, I have no problems wearing a pink T-shirt, pink tie or pink dress shirt out and about, might only wear pink heels outside in a bohemian area though!

On our holiday in Tenerife last year, we met a family whose 15 year old lad always wore bright colours including pink, and I mean trainers, polo shirts, shorts and he had no problems with it. (I think he might have drawn the line at heels though!)

I have been wanting a pair for ages.... Barratts did do a pair, but cant get them in my size:sad: but I have found this pair on banana shoes so might give them a go..

  9. I have to totally agree with Dr Shoe on this one, I found that out at night in a quiet location I was more worried about what people would think I was doing, hanging around behaving strangely, and you are more than likely to bump into someone returning from the pub, who is "Brave" on alcohol. At busy places, I fell a lot more relaxed and dont care what people think, and I have had far fewer people notice in busy places than in quiet ones. The point about low heeled boots to start with is valid and would be advice I would pass on.

  10. he best thing was, that we had to take the train to the start of our walk, and as I work on the railway everyone at work saw me dressed up. As its the second charity event i have been "Dressed" a with very high heels on I think that they are getting the message:smile: Just waiting for the next event!

  11. I think it was about the age of 12 or so, I used to envy all the girls in their shoes and ended up trying my Mothers shoes on when no one else was home. She did not have any really fashionable pairs, but she did have some heeled strappy sandals that I wore quite a lot. Going to an all boys school didn't help, but we were back in the early eighties with bands such as Adam and the ants etc... where it dawned on me that it was probably ok to borrow from female fashion as a male. I started working in McDonalds when I was at college and bought myself a pair of girls "School style" shoes with a 2 inch heel, which lived in my locker at work and were worn when working because the uniform trousers were long, dragging on the ground so no one noticed.

  12. Hi Paul, And welcome, It really is true, just as Foxyheels says that the busier the place, the less you get noticed! And if someone notices, what are they actually going to say/do? Probably not a lot. If its someone you know, well that could have diffculties, otherwise they dont know you, you dont know them and they probably couldnt really care less what youve got on your feet. You will probably bring a smile to someones face and a story to talk about with their friends if you did get noticed...

  13. I either wear the boots as shown on the attachment, or a pair of pumps, the two shown are my favs as they are quite discreet when worn with long jeans. I just had to get some new 34inch leg jeans as most of my old ones were getting a bit short and showing what footwear I had on!

  14. My wife asked me quite out of the blue last night why I loved shopping for shoes and looking at shoes (For both me and her) and would spend ages in a shoe store and yet I loathed shopping with her and spent about 2 minutes max in clothes shops. "You dont really care about fashion etc.. only where shoes are concerned, I want you to spend more time shopping for what I want." I can be in, selected and bought in five minutes where as she takes forever and I have gone to the nearest pub. Anyone else the same??

  15. My wife now kind of accepts that I wear womens shoes, I wear flats and heels at home and sometimes out, even had to scale the garden wall at the inlaws house when they were away because she lost her key in a pair of flats! She went from a well if you get seen its your fault, to its deviant behaviour (Big argument that night - which I won) , and is now back to sort of understanding though shes not overly happy. She will go out with me if I am wearing flats and I am still working on the heels!!!!

  16. If wearing heels was perfectly normal for men, then I would have been wearing them as much as possible for quite a while. I would hope that I'd have mastered walking in very high heels and I would certainly were the highest I could manage. Most of my shoes are black apart from one red pair, so I think the biggest difference would be the colours I would like to wear. I'm really liking so of the "painted" styles that are about now e.g in Next

  17. I used to buy online but as I take a UK 9 or 10 depending on style, I now buy instore and always try them on. I just cant be bothered with the hassle of exchanging them and there are plenty of shops stocking up to size 10 nowadays. I have never had a bad reaction to trying on in store, in fact the assistants are usually very helpful with advice. Its best to be honest that you are buying for yourself. Last time I was in Brantanos, the girls said "Oh you'll like these they are so comfy, Ive got a pair I wear all the time."

  18. Last August the dance group that my wife belongs to had to do a fund raiser, so they decided to do a charity fancy dress walk from the next village to our town. Its about 5 miles up and down hill. So I got hold of a costume, Dorothy from the wizard of Oz and was planning to wear a pair of flat pumps. As luck would have it we chanced a visit to Barratts at the arndale centre and I got hold of a pair of bright red, 4 1/2 inch size 10 platform heels. What a brilliant day we had, myself and a mate from work were crossdressed along with eight ladies in very attractive costumes. Needless to say we visited a few pubs on the way and I was having problems staying upright nearing home. (Due to the beer not the shoes) The reaction from everyone we met was fab, all apart a barber in a local shop.. you people make me sick was his comment. Best thing was though, his boss gave us all her tips for the day to apologise for his narrow minded attitude. Next day my feet were pretty good for the distance I had walked in my heels.

  19. Partyshoes, you are right its all our own worries but now I just get on and shop for shoes. I had a long chat with the manager of a Barratts store, who told me that I would not believe how many men bought heels. That day I ended up with a pair of red 4.5 inch stilettos, having tried several pairs on in the shop. As she said at the endof the day they are there to sell shoes to any customer.

  20. I am really pleased to find this forum, I have been wearing heels for about a year now, currently got 4 pairs of heeled pumps and 2 heeled boots. The wife tolerates them being in the house, but wont play ball with going out.... yet? I did buy some pairs on the internet, but have found that most shops dont give a damn about a guy trying on and buying heels. In fact some places are really helpful and have made good comments. I will try to get some pics on here as soon as I can.
