  1. Yesterday I decided that I wanted to take a look at some handbags. I had gotten my wife a purse from Coach a couple of years ago, and I figured it was only fair for me to look a bit for myself as well. I went to the mall in my typical heeling attire (pencil skirt, pantyhose, 4" heels) and walked into the Coach store just to look at the selection of bags. Once I got there, the sales ladies were very helpful and friendly, and pointed out the shoes they had off to the side of the store. I naturally gravitated toward a very cute pair of rounded toe platform pumps (see attachment).

I normally wear a 9.5 or a 10 (US), occasionally dipping down to a 9 for shoes that run large. When I tried these on, however, I was all the way down to an 8.5! Has anyone else experienced this? What other brands run so large?

Your are so lucky to be able to do that. I would cut off my toes to go down to that size. Not realy. But sounds good when you can wear that size. Good for you. Keep us in touch and let us now what new shoes you have gotten. Thank you.

Becouse you ant going to make your feet like some one that has been doing it form when they were 5 yr. old. But injoy and do what you may.:-))

  5. I realy wish I had the MONEY to bring all you Lodon'er and Brstols over here a cross the pond. To the USA and have a real heel meat that would make me so happy. If I would be lucky enough to win the Calif. state loto. I would be happlie to send you all tickets plus all rooms and with extra's $1000. Just to come over here and spend some time with us. It seem to me that you all have so meany people that have open mines than we do. I have seen people form down under and asisa and even form other areas in the world. Not one of them have shosed me anything that that would make me beleave that there is real heeler out there. I know that I may get docked down from what I'm saying for (tec) and I don't want anyone to take me wrong. I love my friends a cross the pond and I love there input. I just am so unhappy when I read all the great things that are going on over there and I just wondering If I'm in the wrong place for what I love, I hear over there thinking are so grate there. It gives us the Idea that we want to give up our countey and move over there. I love my country and I don't want to leave it. SO as freinds let work as one and make thing as one. We are all in the same boat, we love the things like high heels and injoy other the samething. So I say remember we are all one and we are hear for each other. And that is what we are about. Ps I don't like to hear downers. But that is me. Dr Shoes Keep up your good work, your in there. Thank you. :-)))

  6. Well with the up comming event. I have something for you all! I lived in Las Vegas Nv. for 24 years. Working in Security. And I have seen it all. But in all my time, I have only seen a large number of women in heels. ( you woundn't be how meany heels I have seen) love it. And all that time I have only seen 2 men in real heels, not even women heels, not counting the CD's. Don't get me wrong CD's have there thing and that is ok with me. Yes this city has a good number of CD's. Not a thing wrong with that but they early don't come out on the Strip that much. I have seen CD's going up to room at hotels but that is about it. So I want to say I'll be happy to see real men in heels out here to make a real statement. What happen in Las Vegas stays in Vegas (Don't you be leave it) if some how we could make a statement to show the world that would be something, I would like to see us doing our thing. Make them understand that men like heels and like to wear them. Thats my feeling, What do you think my friends??? :-)))

  7. Just clogs.. I spent yesterday up on a ladder clearing the ice dams from my roof and am to exhausted today to do any kind of heeled footwear.. Better days ahead I hope..

    Charlie

Well lets see, I get up and put on my mules and make coffee and breakfest. After that I go up stairs and slip on my clogs and get on the computer and see what all my friends and doing on HHP. That is my norm state of the day, anything after that is what ever I feel like.

Just do my thing, one day at a time. Have a great day everyone. :-)))

Would like to say that I think they are a nice looking shoe. But with the PRICE ( witch was out of sight ) I would think twice on getting them for something differant. And I'm sure the ladies would agree with me. Anyway nice plat from. What do you think guys and gals. :-)))

  11. 2nd ANNUAL North American Annual Heel/Boot Meet

    Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

    April 7-10 (nights of April 7, 8, 9)

Please indicate by completing the poll; or posting on this thread; or PM/email to "iloveboots"; if you are attending "maybe" or "attending"; which nights; and how many in your party. The 1st Annual NA Heel Meet in Chicago had 28 people attend in Feb 2009 out of 55 registered (lots of food etc was wasted) so we need as accurate a count as possible.

Fremont Street Experience To me Fremont Street was the "old glitter gulch" street...it was so lit up you couldn't tell if it was daytime or nighttime....oh well, today, it's the "Fremont Street Experience". In 1995, Fremont Street was closed to traffic, a huge canopy was constructed over a four-block section as part of a city redevelopment project called the Fremont Street Experience. The canopy towers 90 feet above the street and houses more than 2 million lights.

review from freestyle heeler, comparing experience on the Strip versus Downtown/Fremont.....................

"Salvation is away from the Vegas Strip, in the old downtown illuminated by restored retro neon lights. Two years ago, I had a riotous time at Beauty Bar: 80s dance tracks and manicures, with a hilarious floor show by drag queen Toni. Next door is The Griffin, a dark and gargoyle-y bar with strong drinks and no cover. The Downtown Cocktail Room has a good selection of our beloved absinthe (we had Pernod and Mansinthe). To top it off, we won $15.50 from a slot machine — and screamed so loudly!"

  12. Hi,

Love to hear from anyone who remembers the days back in the 50s and 60s with those Springolators- five inch heels, opened toes, backless flip flops.

Yes the Springolators I remember them very well. They were my first high heel that I tryed on and was so happy that they fit. I have been looking for an other pair. Have a good day.

  13. This thread inspired me to try on shoes in a shop for the first time last week. This is a change for me because I own over 100 pairs of women's shoes, but this was my first ever trying on.

After working late, I needed to do a little food shopping. The local retail park has a Brantano, and I pulled up outside it with this thread in mind, at about 7:45 pm, 15 minutes before closing time. Big 'Sale' signs on display...

I resolved to go in to try on, and entered 5 minutes later. Asked the staff what closing time was. Went to the Ladies 9 section at the back of the store. With the place closing I had it all to myself. Saw some blue suede effect 3½ stilettos at only £5. Decided what the hell, and put on first the display model, then the left shoe from the box. Did an up-and-down the aisle walk in these easy shoes. I next tried some gorgeous red patent peep-toe stilettos, about 4½ inches. Another easy walk up and down the aisle, perhaps due to the concealed platform...sadly these were £26 and I have too many shoes but not enough money...

I didn't like to try but not buy. So one more try of the blue shoes then I bought them. Asked the female sales assistants at checkout how long sale was on for. Also commented to the girl serving me that these shoes were a steal at £5, she agreed they were. Went to do my food shopping with a big smile on my face feeling very proud of myself. Strange to feel afraid of trying on shoes until you actually do it and it not only goes well, it positively makes your day... :silly:

That was a geat thread. I know how you felt going in and out. It is great isn't it. Thanks again. :-)))
