  1. Well, curse them or not, they are your's. I promise you, a lot of guys here, myself included, would love to have feet your size. I wear a 12 or 13 Wide in women's, now you try to find a sexy pair in that size. More importantly, changing the size of one's foot would lead to WAY WAY WAY more problems that it would fix. This is not a good option and unless someone knows something I don't -- which is possible -- then I think everyone would agree with me. Sorry to disappoint but I don't like to see people do things that are detrimental to their health. -Eric

  2. I'm not so concerned with the length, I know, generally, what I wear. In Dr. Martens I wear a 44 and I believe all Eu sizes are the same in women's as in men's. I just don't know about the width and what shoe makers are good for wide feet. -Eric P.S. When I use a shoe measure like that one or the metal ones I get something smaller than what I really wear. I don't know if that's because of the width or it's just how the shoes are made.

  3. Well, I measured my foot the other day so now I'm trying to figure out how to go about buying shoes/boots that would fit me. I measured the longest distance across and lengthwise on each foot and here are my finding. The left foot is 10.75" long and 4.25" wide, the right is 10.5" long and 4.5" wide. I also have thick feet. At the largest part -- right where the shin meets the top of the foot, the instep right? -- I'd say they're about 3.5" - 4". If anyone has a good size chart with measurments or knows about what size that would be around, please tell me. I have no way of trying on shoes and I would like to have a ballpark about where to start looking. -Eric

  4. It is sad to hear these things. I know I personally don't come here for the social aspect of it but I can see what you are talking about. There are few areas where I can give input because of my lack of experience but what first drew me to heels was a picture of Ballet Boots I saw at the Sub Shop. Up until then I had no desire to wear them -- and even for a while after that -- but I had always been drawn to them. Now I am no so driven to wear them in public but I may evolve into that. People change and it can be quite dramatic. It just takes a certain stimulus. I do, however, notice fewer informational topics and more "OOOOOOO, I bought these, you like?" or "I saw these, should I get them?" or even "I have WAY too many shoes, but I just bought these." It gets to be silly at times. -Eric

  5. That's good to hear. I never thought about just cuttint the parts between the toes away. It makes sense but sounds a bit tricky. I would have to wear something with them -- had I a pair mind you -- because I sweat a lot, but it's good to know that it's still possible. Another questions I had is one dealing with sizing. I have very large feet -- I measured them but I have no idea what exact sizing that might be but the left foot is 10.75" long and 4.25" wide, the right is 10.5" long and 4.5" wide (I know that equates to big but if anyone knows approxamately what size that would be plz let me know) -- and I was wondering how the gel would accomodate stretching. I assume one would stretch prior to putting the gel in but I've been wrong before. Thanks for your help. -Eric

  6. Looking very nice. I have a few questions about the gel though. You said that you put cotton-wool between your toes when making the gel forms and that left room for stockings. Does that mean that you have to always use cotton-wool when wearing them now to get a proper fit? Also, how much room does the gel form take up in the shoe? I assume it's no more than any other type of padding but I was just curious. That's all for now but if I have any more questions I'll be sure to ask.

  7. THe bluntness may be wrong as well as the generality but I believe that the "fetish is at the heart of fashion" has a part of it. Speaking from my own experiences, I have always enjoyed certain types of clothing, not necessarily fashion. I didn't know that this was a fetish for some years but I always kinda lurked in the shadows for a chance to see some things. After a few years I started to notice more people wearing these items I had lusted over. Take high heels for example. I've been mezmerized by females in heels for many years but I didn't know until recently that it's really a fetish. Now when I say fetish I mean the original meaning, an item of worship. It may be extreme to say I was worshipping the shoes but really, I was doing everything in my power to see them and take with girls who wore them. That's where I think she gets the "fashion comes from fetish" reasoning.

  8. You will laugh when you hear the real "meaning". I know it applies at least here, when shoes are on powerlines as well, that it's nothing so important. It's just a mean practical joke, more along the lines of revenge or anger. I person will take another's shoes and just throw them up so that the owner usually can't get them, at least without considerable effort and a little help.

  9. I absolutly hate body hair on me. I don't mind having arm hair as it makes me feel a bit more masculine but leg hair is EEWWWW. I see lots of pictures of men in heels but the hair on the legs detracts from the heels, to me anyway. I've been shaving since the beginning of the summer and I really like it. I wish my hair wasn't so dark, thick, and dense. When I get the money, I plan on getting electrolysis. That should put an end to that. ;)

  10. Okay, so I was trying to remember all the differenct makers of ballet boots/shoes that I knew and I have been having trouble. That's when I thought I'd come to you nice people ;). I think we should make a list of all the manufacturers and sellers of ballet heels that we know of because the prices are SOOO incredibly varied even for the same exact shoe. I think this would benefit everyone. Since I started the topic, I will start with the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Qualifetish Pleaser Punitive Shoes Alexandre Buffalo As you can see, I have a short list so let's try to help it grow. -Eric P.S. Please list the ones prior so we can keep a master list going.

  11. I see so many pairs of boots that are VERY beautiful until I see a zipper on the inside. I know the discussion has come up before about zippers in conjunction with speed laces and how it's basically and oxymoron. I was wondering if there is anyway to get a zipper taken out of a pair of boots or would it be better to just buy a pair that was custom made without the zipper. That is on the assumption that one cannot find a pair already made without the zipper. A prime example would be the granny boots on another topic. They are BEAUTIFUL...except for that damn zipper.

  12. Bubba- That's a good way to do it. That's how I started trying to walk on my toes however many years ago, way before I had every heard of ballet boots or even taken a fancy to high heels. Whenever I'm in a pool I devote at least a little time to walking in the tips of my big toes -- I assume that's the way ballet heels feel -- and trying to a little bit more shallow in the water. It's hard in the pool we have now because it's so steep but on say a Country Club pool or some other public pool that's very gradual, it would be much easier to slowly try to decrease the depth of the water, thus increase the weight on your toes. Seems like a logical way of doing it to me. -Eric
