soppy shoe tale

Recommended Posts

In a darkcorner of the little shoe shop, lies a stand with five pairs of very high heels. On top is a pair of red mary janes with 5.5" heels. Next down are patent peep-toe pumps with a 6" heel. Below are gold strappy sandals with diamonte` trim and 5"|spike heels. Alongside are a pair of black/white oxfords, 1/2" platform, 5" taper heels. The final pair are matte black leather slingbacks, pointy toe,5.5" heel. At night, after the owner and customers have left, the shoes talk about who has been in, and, in the case of the above shoes, if any of them were able, or deserved, to wear such fine shoes. Obviously the ordinary shoes disliked the stuck-up high heels and would taunt them on the time they had been left on the shelf. The high heels were often naughty, and would swap places, causing the lady owner some consternation when she opened the shop. That was all about to change. One day, a bald headed man entered the shop and began to browse. He saw the display and selected the slingbacks. To the amazement and shock of those present, he removed his 4.5" stack-heel boots, tried on the sling-backs, then walked across the shop to the mirror. Those present had to admit he walked very well in such high and thin heels. He smiled to all the astounded faces, paid for his purchase and left. A few days latter, another man came. He too tried and purchased the oxfords. A lady bought the peep-toe pumps, and another man the strappy sandals. The owner had found a pair of plain black5.5" heel pumps, and a pair of 4.5" blue slingbacks in the stockroom, and had put these into the space. Enquiries poured in, especially for larger sizes, so the the owner contacted her suppliers. Her sales increased, even if men had now become her best customers, and she finally heard of the "high heel meeting place".
