Ilikespikes Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Was wondering if anybody knows where one can find the type of classic (3"-4") pump that were worn by the likes of Barbara Eden in "Voyage To The Bottom of the Sea", Tippi Hedren in "The Birds", the customer in Dick Van Dyke's episode "Young Man With A Shoehorn", etc. There are alot of modern renditions out there, and they're not bad, but they're missing, for one, the curvature of the heel from the main body of the shoe. Any ideas?
raincat Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Hi Ilikespikes. Try checking out eBay, Vintage Womens Shoes section. You may not find what you're looking for on the first visit or two, but if you check it out regularly, eventually what you're looking for will show up. Many offerings there are in "like new" condition, as people keep coming up with NOS (New Old-Stock) findings. I agree that the better quality heels of that era had an appeal that is missing in most of today's offerings. Good luck! Women who wear heels are to be admired and appreciated for the feminine visage they create.
