JL
I just spent a few days in Las Vegas with my wife... We were at the Venetian to see a show and were walking around a bit when my wife started complaining that her shoes were killing her (3" heels) and she was having trouble walking. I tried to get her to say "why don't you try walking in heels" but she didn't. She knows nothing about my 'like' for heels (yet). She finally told me to wait for her while she went upstairs to buy a new pair. So there I was... standing next to the escallator that leads from the parking garage (next to the theater) and I was incredibly AMAZED at the quantity (and quality) of women wearing heels. I'm not talking about 3 or 4" heels -- 5" and 6" were not rare to my eyes!! In fact, most of them had no platform. A few women were wearing 6" boots with long jeans covering the heel. My first inclination to the heel height was that the toe was extremely close to the heel. I confirmed my suspicion when she sat down and crossed her leg over the other - DAYUMM!!! The floors at this hotel are stamped cement -- this means that they are not smooth but more like cobblestones. Moreover, they are very well polished making them rather slick. Every woman I saw wearing heels (hundreds on hundreds) had no visible difficulty walking in them. I was beyond amazed, impressed, and ecstatic. I will be heading back to Vegas for a convention in January (CES) and if all goes well (and my wife doesn't join me), I plan on brining my own heels and will spend all of my free time heeling around the casinos!! Of course, I too will be wearing my longer pants. Anyone else see this phoenomenon out there?? Heck... any place for me to buy heels while I'm there?? seattleshoes
Yep, Vegas is absolutely outstanding for seeing substantial numbers of women wearing significantly high heels. On my last trip there, I tooled around one of the casinos wearing a pair of 3" wedge boots under my jeans for a couple of days. It was really nice to be able to walk anywhere I wanted inpretty much total anonymity. Oh, and don't forget that there is a second convention in town at the time of CES, if my memory serves - the adult film maker's convention has their meeting at the same time. That's a ludicrous amount of heels waiting to happen.
