From Germany - http://www.heeltips.de/ Smallest D shape is 8mm or 5/16". From UK - http://www.stiletto-heel-tips.co.uk/ Smallest D shape or Round shape is 9mm or 11/32" The tips from the UK supplier are the regular steel pin and alloy tip, whereas those from the german supplier are all steel and are about 1/2 thickness. I found that I needed them for all my shoes. Dr Shoe did explain why I needed them but I have forgotten, there is a post about it here somewhere.
