heelme
I'd like to do some fine tuning to the heel and sole of a pair of boots of mine. The sole is leather and the heel is stacked leather. The cobbler did a fairly good job of sculpting the heel the way I want...almost. I want to do some more sanding to clean up the roughness of the heel profile. The cobbler also dyed or painted the sole and the forward facing side of the heel black while the rest of the heel is finished in a way that darkens the natural leather color, but is still relatively clear, showing the leather levels of the stack, which I want. So, I want to sand off the black and sand some more on the heel, then I want to finish the leather with the proper materials. The color I am looking to make the heel is about the same as it is right now and as it is in my avatar, kind of a darker honey shade. With that in mind, what should I be using for sanding and what product for finishing? Thanks in advance.
