Although velcro is a very good invention it is not always perfect in every situation.  i have a pair of block heel sandal boots that i love wearing.  the strap at the back is secured by a small bit of velcro.  the problem is that it sometimes comes undone when walking around.

i am lucky that the boots also have front lace fastening.  i then came up with the idea that i can get away by permantly securing the back strap and use the laces.  what i done was put a good dollop of superglue on the velcro then secured it to the desired position.  hey presto.  so far this has been sucessful.  i now feel a lot safer without having to worry if the back strap comes undone
