The Pain Stops In My High Heeled Boots

Question

Posted

I went to the doctor recently because of some severe pain I was having in my left foot. The pain was centered around the outside edge of my foot and the doctor concluded that I have several inflamed ligaments in the area where the series of bones leading back from my pinky toe meet up with my ankle/heel bones. I have had this issue for years but never bad enough to inhibit walking they way its doing now. I have a pair of 4in block heel mid-calf boots that I have been stretching to fit again and decided to at least try them on to see what would happen. After I put them on and stood up the relief was immediate! Anyone have any idea why this is so?

Life is like a good shoe store, the more variety the better!

Probably as a result of the alteration to the biomechanics due to the lifted heel. Reduction of pressure/stretch on the inflamed ligaments because of different geometry. Well, I´m not a doctor but as a former athlete (distance runner) I´ve got a fair bit of experience in biomechanics.
