radiodave Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 At the grocery store checkout this evening. A twenty-something girl with her boyfriend gets behind me. Skinny as a rail, wearing a tank top, capri pants, and black stiletto pumps. OK, the look seemed odd, but the pumps were nice... Until I saw her walking on the way out of the store. Not only were her shoes at least one size too big and she kept walking out of them, but she kept leaning heavily inward to the point where it looked like she had never learned to walk in them. I had to not laugh, because not only did she look silly walking in them, but I knew I could teach her to walk in them!
Histiletto Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 When I hear of these sort of instances, I wonder how much support was given at home. There are some people who think the modern styles of clothing are too provocative and revealing which supposively gives out an attitude of loose morals in their minds. So these families don't teach or help their children to assimilate into the world the children have to cope with. When they do get on their own, there is a period of awkwardness in choosing the attire they like, but they don't quite know the right fit for everything they want to wear. As for the girl descibed, she may have really like the heels she saw at the store but has not had the experience to get the proper fit or maybe the heels are her sister's or even her brother's and her parents have taken them away from him, which didn't give her much of a choice.
wood&metal Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Have to give her credit for trying... Never frown because you never know who is falling in love with your smile.
FXHH Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 agree, at least she tried!! we all different!! glad about that!!
