  1. In the early 60s, when I was in the Army, we all wore the bottoms of our work uniforms (fatiques) tucked into our boots, by regulation. I suppose this was to protect the men from getting their leg bottoms caught in machinery. In any case, I always liked how they looked. Rainbow PS. I originally wrote "their bottoms caught," and changed it! :P

  2. I wear a man's 12 1/2 wide, so you can understand that to find women's shoes for me is difficult. Despite the rule of adding two sizes to a man's size, to find the correct woman's size, this has never worked for me. Even a woman's 14 is too big on me, when, theoretically, I should find 1 14 1/2 a good fit. Most of the women's shoes I can find (that aren't outrageously expensive!) and own, are 13M. Though some are a little too narrow for me, persistent use of the shoe stretcher just before I put them on leaves them quite comfortable and soothing on my feet.

  3. I believe that all these cultural permissions or denials are strictly arbitrary. Breaking away from whatever the culture says is OK, though, takes a good deal of courage and, of course, can be downright dangerous. So, for all the brave folks who come to this Forum, I salute you. Rainbow

  4. I read an article some time ago that said most women have feet that are narrower in the heel than in the front of the foot. Once upon a time, women bought shoes with both a heel-width and a toes-width size. So shoes fit them fine. Today there are only toes-width sizes, so that if a woman buys the correct size for the front of her foot, her heel will keep slipping out of the back of her shoes. Something like 80% of women wear too tight shoes to prevent this problem. Of course, this is very destructive to her feet.

  5. Those wedgies, as well as the pump, are really appealing. The slope of the wedge pulls the eye along so very seductively and gracefully. It's too bad my feet are larger than the available sizes. I first noticed how attractive wedgies (not the blocky kind) after WW2, when they became very popular. By the end of the 50s, they fell out of favor. I am so pleased to see that they are back in fashion. . Rainbow

  6. I, too, enjoy the sounds of high heels on hard surfaces. Unfortunately I live on the floor below someone's apartment who walks around in heels on the bare wooden floor. THAT is not enjoyable!. Rainbow :P

  7. Boy, do I wish I had a smaller foot-size like my wife's! Not only would I be able to wear her shoes (a real turn-on for me), but I would have access to so many more options in women's shoes that I could buy for myself. Rainbow

The first photo is of my white sandals with 4 3/4-inch heels.

The second is one of me in them. They are SO sexy to feel them on my feet and to look at, as if they were on a woman.

I'm six-feet-two WITHOUT these heels on, and weigh alot over 200 pounds, so walking in them is too risky! Standing in them is scary enough.

    :P
