  1. Hi, Just thought I would post this cuz I thought it was very cool. I wear heels to work all the time and skirts now also (been some very rocky roads but I wish not to dwell on that) so folks are very used to what I wear now. Today I have on a long tan/brown skirt with my 4" brown high heel clogs. There were about 5 of us outside on break in the smoking area at the picnic table. One of our male co-workers was looking at my clogs and suddenly said hey Frankie what size shoe do you wear? I said 10 women's and he responded he wore a 9 1/2 and knew this because his wife and him have the same size feet  So then he says let me try one of those on! And I said sure and kicked off my right shoe. He put it on and was kind of unsteady and I said well you really need to have them both on. So I kicked off the other one and slid it to him and held my nyloned feet off the ground so I didn't get a run in my stockings. So he puts on the other one and walked around in them for a min (not to bad either). They fit him very well and looked great I told him so. So not being finished there he proceeds to ask a female co-worker who was wearing soft traditional low clogs if he could try her shoes on. He did but hers were a bit small, I told him they would fit fine if he wore nylons lol. All in all it was a very fun break time this morning and nice to see another guy confident enough in himself to walk around in my heels for a bit... very nice I thought  maybe I'll pass on some of my older regular clogs to him. Frankie

  2. I just thought Id let everyone know that the Payless shoe store in Syracuse NY (northern lights close to airport) has some friendly folks working there.

    link below

    link here

I went back today during my lunch hour to purchase a pair of high heeled clogs ( the exact one in sandlecrazy27's avitar above) I had seen in the store the previous week. The week before the sales clerk was very friendly and even asked me if I was the guy who called about that particular style (i wasnt, but i find it interting there was a guy who called --- maybe i am not the only heeled guy around these parts)

So today I went in tried them on ... they fit great ... went to purchase and she asked me if I needed any trouser socks to go with them, I said no thanks I wear knee highs or stockings and she showed me what was on sale. I picked up a package of knee highs.

throught the whole transaction she was very friendly and after the sale was complete she said she hoped to see me again and have a great day. (btw was wearing high heeled clogs when I made the purchse)

So for any guys out there in this particular area, you may find this particular store a nice place to go shoping :D

Just thought I'd pass it on ....

  3. Kiltsrgr8:-)

Excuse me...I took the dress shirt for a plain cotten blouse in the pic. That shirt still looked good with that skirt. What kind of job allows you to wear a skirt, hose and heels to work?

    Cheers---

    Dawn HH

Opps , sorry ;) I did not mean to offend you, I was just pointing out that it was a mens shirt is all sorry. Man I knew better then to start posting again , dang it all how stupid was me.

but to answer your question , at this time no job alows me to wear a skirt to work during normal working hours , nor high heels anymore.

long story short , I started wearing skirts, kilts and hose to work and it lasted about a month.

at such time I was promptly informed I would be fired if I wore a skirt or heels to work.

so I lost my heel wearing even, most folks had no problem with it and even gave me advise and many comments and compliments.

however it only takes one disatisfied manager to nerf that.

so now when everyone leaves at 4:30 , I change into my skirt or kilt and leave to pick up my wife at her job and drive home. A few of us are leaving after hours and thats how I got the compliment today.

I am down to only being alowed to have my acrlic nails under gloves most of the time and thats it , nothing else or I am fired plain and simple.

so my advise to anyone as far as work goes is don't do it.

    home is different story.

my appoligies to you Dawn HH

  4. Kiltsrgr8:-)

I take it that you wore that outfit to work and got a comment on it. It looks like a great work outfit to me. Skirts and blouses go very well together and you should try that combination more often as it looks good on you.

    Cheers---

    Dawn HH

Thanks for the compliment Dawn HH, But I dunno about wearing a blouse though, I stick with this type of dress shirt or polo shirts mostly. I think I push things a bit to far as it is lol. I love the heels so much but they drastically change the entire look. I dunno if it's the right thing or not, a bit much all in all I fear.

  5. Hey there everyone. I certainly have not posted on the board in a long time so I dunno what hit me but I decided to post a few pics today. I hope ya'll don't mind me adding to this thread as I was unsure where to post and I did get a compliment on this outfit (I had created thread, but better to bury here).

Here are a few pics of me in my skirt and heels. I LOVE heels and skirts but I have tried to never ever mix them. I always wear my heels with jeans, and my male shoes with my skirts or kilts. I just didn't want to push things to far, well today I decide to just let it go and mix them like they logicaly should probably be.

The skirt has four pockets , 2 in the back, 2 in the front and is pleated - it is very kilt like. I have 3 of them (green , tan , brown) I purchased from fashion bug on clearance for $12 a piece, the shoes are old and I bought those at walmart but I think they go great with the skirt.

I really like the outfit below as it really comes off nice (I think anywayz for an everyday type look ;) ) and it is insanely comfortable as well.

I recieved a nice compliment on the outfit today from a co-worker who told me the shoes looked great with the skirt! Her daughter has seen the shoes and are her favorite(She loves it when I pass on my old heels to her)

Here is a shot from the back (Thats my kitty in the background)

And a shot from the front

And I can not forget a shot of the shoes! :D the reason for this board!

  6. Yes spring is comming (not soon enough) , I agree with Bubba136 , Most of the stores I have been in are pretty much ready for spring , lots of good styles out there and things seem to be selling fast ,

Jeffb - Those are nice shoes , I like the green ones , I have been eyeing these at payless myself.

    Posted ImagePosted Image

I love the green , I don't have anything to go with them, but may get them anyway , I will get one color for sure.

  7. I have seen this before also , I was in retail management some time ago (Thank God I am not anymore) and saw this happen all the time. Book vendors are famous for this , when they issue a credit for books that do not sell , they simply tear the covers off and throw the rest away. millions of coverless books thrown in the trash. In other instances we would have clothing that for whatever reason was deemed no longer sellable, It might have a defect , maybe it was stained , or it was marked down to nothing , missing 2'nd part in two piece set , I pushed to have these donated and was told that people would try and return them or exchange them , that it was more of a pain. In the end we still threw out most clothing , however I was able to give away things like socks and underwear that had no package. I saw an entire snowblower get thrown away and many other bizzare situations. This brings in a deeper thought about our world , I have had disscusions with my father in law about how it is a shame our world is a throw away socity , things are just not made to last , throw it away , make more , it didn't sell? no problem , throw it away , we'll make more. In a perfect world every pair of those shoes would have gone to needy folks. Sitting here thinking about it , I remember one of my first jobs , making dounuts at a supermarket , we threw away tons of food everyday , this was our "shrink" , we could never even give it away to homeless shelters becuase of liability reasons etc .... anyway ... my thoughts on it ...

  8. I plan to pick them up tommorro , today I went to burlington and they have already sold out on black slides like the one in my avatar , darn it all! I tried to get tan clogs like the black ones I have above and they were also sold out (my size) , struck out , I am nervous that Target will be sold out , if they are at least I can purchase them online!

  9. Call me crazy, but I couldn't resist the temptation, so I ordered these boots from How Cool:

    Posted Image

At only $63.00 before shipping, the price was certainly right. Even though I have no idea where I would wear these boots, I just decided I had to have a pair. I'll figure out the logistics after I get my hands on 'em!

    Jeff

I have one word for you ............. Posted Image I love the look! Posted Image

  10. On the way out of the resterant at the end of the evening that lady asked me if she could touch my boots

    Shafted ,

What a great time! Thats awsome! With all the styles I wear I have never tried boots like that (don't know if I could) , My hats off to you.

Like your experiance with the touching , I too have had this , it seems some woman love to touch the shoes? I don't know what it's all about but hey it good with me :P

  11. kiltsrgr8, you shoes are incredible!!! Your courage is too!! I love the styles you wear and wish I could pull it off like you. Who knows, maybe someday I will too....

I agree with docs41, they are very nice! They do look like a nice summer type shoe.

Been meaning to ask kiltsrgr8, do you own kilts too? I have my original family tartan kilt I bought in Scotland while stationed there in 1990-1992. I also have a khaki utilikilt. I have wore 2 1/2" heeled work boots with the utilikilt, and it looks really good. Been trying to find a pair of the "Logger" style knee high boot with a 3 to 4 inch heel, but will most lkely have to have them custom made...

    tightlevisandhhboots

Thank You docs41 .... I hope you do! and you know I love that sassy dr scholl , you can't go wrong with those!

tightlevisandhhbots ... Thanks for the compliment! yes I own kilts , Only 3 right now I have mostly sarongs. I own 1 utilikilt in black (original when they first started with zip up fly in front) one red and black and one green and black traditional wool style.

my favorite is the utilikilt , I have been looking at the cameo one for some time now , I hope to get it soon.

with your boots the khaki utilikilt most look smashing!

  12. I thought I would tell everyone about my vist today to the dentist. Please everyone tell me If I am posting to much , I still feel strange and don't know if I am posting right or not , also I have an obsesive type personality and don't want to "over kill" my experiances here ... anyway I went to the dentist today with my son , we both had an Appt. Interestingly in complete opposit to my post above about going to lunch with my wife , there was not one glimmer of a reaction there. I wore the same black clogs. Nobody batted an eye , nobody seemed to even take notice , pretty funny , it just goes to show , you never know ...

  13. No, being unpracticed in walking in high heels, I'm slowly learning to walk in my 2 1/2-inch slings. I can barely stand, much less walk, wearing those

    near-five inch heels! :P

BTW, my girlfriend understood immediately that your name is phonetic for "kilts are great." I translated it as "kilts rodger8!" Sorry.

    Rainbow

No problemo ......I came up with the name after I bought my utilikilt

Thanks for the answer .... I was curious , I have no problem walking in 5" if it is a more stable type , I dunno how well I would do on something like that myself , with no support really around the ankles.

  14. Hmm.

With spring coming up, they're likely to put out plenty of sandals.

In the --right-- style, I can pull of an 11.

The Payless stores here go up to a size 13, the shoes in my avatar are from there. I check weekly for new styles. The salesgirl at one store says I need to hurry up and buy something, I tell her "Sandals need to hurry up and come back in season" :P

Thats cool you check every week , I do the same , sometimes more , sometimes less ... If I don't I wont find my size ......pluss I can't help myself it's like a high

Thats great that the sales girl gets on like that with you!, in all my shoe buying and travels I've only ever had one sales girl blatently tell me I should buy a pair ... Boy was she ever cute .......
