  1. Hi guys, I haven't posted here for a long time, but I still have a look at this forum regularly and is amazed by diversity of style you may share with us.

I just had a crush yesterday for new booties, so here I am. Heels are not very high, but they are for everyday outfits, so...2fmicg.jpg.dccfe64ca5b334b6503875548d5c3de3.jpg5zi3rt.thumb.jpg.4dff661937e7292a8a1fe5d029a33d0f.jpg5zi3rt.thumb.jpg.4dff661937e7292a8a1fe5d029a33d0f.jpg62lsar.thumb.jpg.bfef99f94b4f73d903e99566d97f773e.jpg

    Is that the Mrs Bootslover?

I'm afraid it's only the Faceapp feminine version of Mr Bootslover! Unfortunately, the true Mrs Bootslover can't stand Mr Bootslover passion for heels and skirts, so those outfits are only worn when travelling for business!

motivational update: not taking things personally is important to wearing what you want to wear.  That means if people think your heel wearing is "bad", it's not about you. But it also means if they think your heel wearing is "good" it's also not about you.  This attitude flips the reference point back to you and your feelings which you can control.  As opposed to referring to others, which you can't control.

What I mean by this. If I wear heels and someone disapproves of it, that disapproval says more about that person's inner world than it does about my feelings of excitement wearing heels, my feelings of significance creating beauty via my style, my feelings to create love and connection with the right people by being vulnerable in who I really am.

It also mean, if my wear heels and someone approves, that approval says more about that person's inner world than it does about me for the same reasons above.

Well, it takes time to me to understand this, but you're absolutely right.

This understanding of the attitude of others is very helpful to adopt the right approach to dismantle aggressive behavior for example. Not considering it against me and my outfit, but issued by his own story, help me to be constructive and less aggressive myself.

I haven't posted in this forum for a year, and a lot has changed in my life in this past year. First of all, I realized that I am transgender and started transitioning. So I guess I don't strictly belong in the "For the Guys" subforum anymore, but I still feel a kinship with men who have a love for high heels. As for wearing heels in public, I have been doing it frequently since I socially transitioned. I wore these two weeks ago when we went to a restaurant with a couple of friends for a birthday celebration:

I wish you all the best in your journey to yourself!

I'm in love with your shoes, what brand are they?

    Thanks

  5. 4 inches rise is still comfortable for me, but not far to my limit to walk easily.

@Mlroseplant, I mainly agree with you. The day I purchased those wedges was sunny but not so warm, this explains the jacket and the scarf. Wedges are less elegant than heeled sandals, but far more easy to walk on cobblestone, and we are used to have a lot of streets here in France with irregular ground. I had some heels nearly destroyed by cobblestone!

For sure, I prefer the look of true sandal, like

but I like also to have the choice

I am one of those people who are of the opinion that hosiery should never be worn with open toe shoes, and especially not full blown sandals, though as Ron C noted, this was done regularly years ago, and sometimes even with reinforced toe hosiery. Even as a kid, I thought this looked odd.

However.  .  . my friend and shoe buddy prefers to wear hosiery with shorts and short skirts for dressier occasions, because the skin on her legs, if you look very closely, is riddled with imperfections. You can't notice it unless you look very carefully up close. I don't really know how to describe it without closeup pictures, but I can understand why she prefers to cover the blemishes with hosiery. She has specialized hosiery for such occasions which do not encase the entire foot, and leaves the toes bare. I'm not entirely sure how it works, but I think it's a good compromise for her.

I saw this kind of hosiery in a shop, but it was expensive and I didn't purchase. I have the same concern as your friend as removing legs hair leaves some visible small dots on the skin. The legs aspect is smoother with 15d hosiery.

I posted back in May, 2019 that I bought these sandals for $19.95, regular $168. I said at the time I wouldn't have much chance to wear them but recently I have had several opportunities, just around the house. The 5" heel took a little getting used to but all is fine now. These are the highest and most feminine shoes I own.
